An Instagrammable and Dole Whippy 4th of July Trip Report!**UPDATED 3/4

I've never seen those hidden Mickeys at Dinosaur. I'll be sure to pay attention next time. :)

Your TH lunch is the first time that I recall seeing options there that made me crave that food! Everything looks really great.

I'm right there with you counting down until December. I'm looking forward to meeting you. :)

YAY for WDW planning. This whole FP+ thing is a challenge though, but I think I finally have it (somewhat) figured out. Good luck!

Oh dear, stinky people on Dinosaur. I guess in the heat of July that's somewhat tough to avoid sadly.

Haha, I love your Dinosaur photo. You look like you're closing your eyes as hard as you can.

Looking forward to your parade pics. I haven't seen it in a number of years, but I do plan to see the Christmas version in December.

OH my gosh!!! What a crazy story!!

That is such a short connection time. Are you living in NYC now? I am glad you didn't miss your flight, although it stinks it was delayed. G to B is a long ways away!! Free Wifi is nice!

Are you living in NYC now? I just had a story like that at JFK. I went there two weekends ago and I saw a Shake Shack and i had like 15 minutes left till my plane boarded so I decided to go to Shake Shack...well I didn't realize how far away it is and didn't even get to my gate until 15 minutes after I boarded so I ran. But I made it because they were a little delayed with boarding.

I am actually working in Charlotte. I moved down August 4th, and should be home right before Christmas as long as we don't get extended. At this point, I am praying we won't! I just want it to be over with. Having a great time, but I do miss home.

God, Shake Shack is one of my favorite places in New York! Their 'Shroom Burger is INSANE!!! They used to be only 4 blocks from my apartment, so I went often! They are totally worth being late for your flight!

this cracks me up!! :rotfl:

totally how rachel & interact at disney together.:lmao:

...ok, back to the regularly schedule program. just had to share. so funny!

Looks like a fun meal at Tusker House.

Your dino photo is hilarious. Was it an intentional pose? I scare really easily, so I always look like that while riding Dinosaur. I know it's coming, yet it scares me everytime.

How exciting you're going back so soon!

Looks like a delicious meal at Tusker house! And I might have to get myself one of those frozen chai teas some time - they look amazing!

I'm glad that you found such a good spot for the parade and the extra show with the bird is nice while you are waiting.

Boo to the stinky people.:crazy2: I can't stand when I can smell someone in line. I don't understand how they themselves can't smell it!

I love your Dinosaur pic! The way your arms are crossed, it looks like you are a young child...angry that your parents made you ride, and are refusing to open your eyes and enjoy the ride. Ha ha!

Well, we are obviously still on the same day because Corey is still wearing THAT shirt.

I'm glad you enjoyed your lunch at Tusker House (we enjoy breakfast).

You got quite a bit done after lunch with Kali, Dinosaur and EE.
Hah about that shirt. I need to try Tusker House for breakfast one of these days. We did get a lot done. Productive day at AK!

It was very good. A lot of unique things but a lot of typical American things too. I am looking forward to meeting you as well.

Yes, it is a challenge. I don't think that I will like reserving rides:confused3 It is just too much work! Dinosaur scares the poop out of me!

I see! Charlotte would be pretty. I wish I would have got cheese fries from shake shack! They looked good.

I don't think it was intentional. I just get really scared and hate looking at that end dinosaur. I may have exaggerated a little bit though.

All caught up !!

LOL on Patti's bitstrip comic !!

Susan
I know, the bitstrip is funny!!

It was very good! Especially on a hot day.

I don't understand that either. I am not sure how you can have that bad of B.O. unless you didn't shower and don't use deodorant. Haha that is what my picture looks like!! I am a scaredy cat.

Before long the Animal Kingdom parade came along! I really love this parade, especially when it is the christmas version. It isn't very unique but I like the music a lot.

I seriously felt like a little kid while watching this. I was waving at all the characters and so excited to see them.

I have a love/hate relationship with Rafiki. When I was 13 years old we came to Disney and ate at the Garden Grove at the swan and Rafiki was there. Apparently he had a crush on me and proposed to me and followed me all over the restaurant while I was trying to run away. I had to run in the bathroom to hide from him. I was so mad. And my parents though it was funny!

Chip/Dale's hat was coming off so the dancer had to help him. Someone could tell me 1 thousand times which one is which and i still wouldn't remember.

I love the details in the Minnie car.

Here is the man

Chip is the one with the black nose...like a chip in a chocolate chip cookie.

We miss this parade every year because we never stay at AK long enough. However, when we are there in December, we definitely have it in our plans to watch the Christmas version of the parade.

You got some awesome shots of the characters.

We still had some time to kill before our fastpasses for Kali River Rapids was up so we went through the jungle trek.

Then we saw the cool/creepy bats.

I never knew bats had such..ahem...pronounced sex organs...pardon my inappropriateness. I won't even share the picture that I am talking about. It is too disturbing.

We saw some turtles.

And a tiger. He was pretty hidden though.

A peacock.

We walked into the little bird sanctuary next, which was really pretty.

When we came out of the jungle trek we passed some funny
monkeys.

I wanted to stop for some pictures next and we were literally standing besides this photopass woman for 5 minutes without her noticing us. I was waiting for her to finish her conversation with another worker and she just kept talking! I felt bad to interrupt her but we finally got her attention.

After this I pretty much put my DSLR camera away since it was so hot.

Corey wanted a snack so we had the wonderful cream cheese jalapeno pretzel- so good!

We still had time left before our fastpass but we did everything that we could so I just went over to see if we could use them.

Nope- she wouldn't let us in early. However, she kept letting in people who were late for theirs, so I didn't get that.

We got a locker for our stuff and just waited until it was time. It did start to sprinkle.

We went up with 5 minutes before and she did let us in. While going through the line we saw a girl on the ground with paramedics around her. Scary! I was just amazed at how long the standby line was. It was nuts. It felt never ending. Even our line was lone for a fastpass line.

When we finally got close we were getting so excited! We have never done this so we didn't know if we were going to drenched or what.

The ride was actually real fun! The bottom half of me got completely drenched. The people to my right were the ones who got wet. While it was fun, it was so short. It didn't feel complete. I got off the ride thinking, "Was that it??". Even other people in our car were asking that. I would go on it again but only if it was hot and with a fastpass.

Since we were done with everything I wanted to head out and go back to the hotel. However, I wanted to vinylmation trade first. And this led to the biggest letdown of the entire trip...

I went to the vinylmation counter where the box was and waited in line right behind the counter with a vinyl in hand. There was one person cashing out so I figured I would be next. Then a girl came in line with a postcard. The worker helped her first even though I was next. I let it go because it was one postcard. After she left he checked another person out instead of helping me out. This was getting ridiculous so I asked him if he was going to help me anytime soon. He said yes but then once again ignored me and helped the next customer who lost their debit card so he proceeded to call the restaurant and I had enough so I told him I was leaving!

I was so frustrated and upset that he ignored me for that entire time. Yes, I was not standing in the check out line I was standing right next to the vinylmation box but he still should have helped me! I can't believe he ignored me 4 times...

So I was so upset that I sent an email to customer service right away. I have never EVER complained or sent anything to WDW but this just upset me. I did get a call back from Disney a couple weeks later wanting to know what happened. They did apologize.

Anyways, I got over it on the bus and I felt much better about the situation once I sent the email.

I responded to the first update and you snuck another one in there.

Great pictures on the Trek. Personally, I skip the bats...I can't stand them (they truly scare the you know what out of me).

I like Kali Rapids; Mark does not. But I'm with you...it is way too short of a ride.

That was very, very rude of the CM. I would have complained too.

Wow I haven't seen the AK parade in ages. I think a lot of the reason is because it's just so darn hot. But I already have my plans to see the Jingle Jungle parade. :yay:

Kali is another thing I haven't done in a while for much the reasons you mentioned. I can't imagine standing in a long line for it.

BOO to rude CM's. Since I love CM's so much I hate when the bad apples show themselves like that.

Tusker House looks like so much fun! Omg, I love the Jammin' Jungle Parade so much! It's so much fun, and you got some wonderful pictures!

I gotta get this report finished in about 15 days since I leave for my trip in 32 days and would like to have some free time in between. These updates will be shorter since I have memory loss and didn't take as many pictures.

When we got back to Animal Kingdom (love that short ride!) I wanted to check out some of the animals. It was the campfire time so we saw that happening.

These birds were so cool. Their skin was flapping in the wind and was translucent.

When we got back to our room the giraffes were out again! We figured they feed them right around 6pm because that is what time they were out. Eventually we found out that they feed in various spots across the resorts so everyone can see them.

We had plans with Emme and Patty to go to MK but Patty told us that Emme was very sick. She was throwing up at their hotel and in bed. There was no way they could make it. I was sad for Emme and wanted her to get better. So, we decided to go to DTD instead of MK.

I got off at the market shops and I went to get dinner at..

I got the alfredo cavatappi with chicken. It really hit the spot, it was sooo good!!

Next up was Corey's dinner of choice.

He got the chicken tenders. He really likes these as they have a light breading.

We both passed on desserts at our individual restaurants because we wanted dessert here:

We just got a regular hot fudge sundae. MMM, it was delicious!! You can just taste how quality these ingredients are.

Haha. He has got the deer in headlights look going.

We went shopping as well during our night. I went to D Street which is where they have vinylmations and I bought three vinyls. I also traded one and got the peace love mickey vinylmation.

We stopped in WOD.

And I wanted my second dessert at Goofy's.

I got a red velvet cake pop. I just love these things but wish they weren't rolled in that sugar.

We also just walked around and listened to all the performers that were going on. They have those living statues, which are so neat to see. And they had a lot of different types of musicians. It was just peaceful listening to the music even though the crowds were nuts.

We had a successful low key night at Downtown Disney but I was sad about Emme being so sick.

Ok that makes sense. I feel like you told me that before in one of my TRS! I have a bad memory. Yes, December version is awesome!! I feel like every thing with a christmas overlay is better. We will be at AK on sat dec 7th!

I responded to the first update and you snuck another one in there.

I did sneak one in! Haha the bats are sooo creepy. Especially the big ones. They are huge. I was expecting Kali to be longer since it was a water ride. It was fun though. I always like trying new things because I have basically seen everything.

Wow I haven't seen the AK parade in ages. I think a lot of the reason is because it's just so darn hot. But I already have my plans to see the Jingle Jungle parade. :yay:

Yay for the Jingle Jungle parade!! I love it. Yeah i know about the CM..I literally have never felt the need to complain before. But this was bad. He was foreign so maybe that had something to do with it.

Tusker House looks like so much fun! Omg, I love the Jammin' Jungle Parade so much! It's so much fun, and you got some wonderful pictures!

I love that parade too!! It is much more low key that MK parade so it is fun. I like to dance during it!

Ok, so about the bats. Those things creep me the F out. (Excuse MY inappropriateness.) I have never stopped long enough to look at them, but seriously, the fact they have full heads of hair is what freaks me out the most. Just NO on so many levels.

Great giraffe pictures back at your resort...love those animals.

Our AK day is December 4.

Sorry Emme was sick...hope she got better quick.

Oh, you went to WPE...love that place! We have never done Cookies of Dublin.

And you had my favorite dessert at the ice cream place--Hot Fudge Sundae. :)

You are moving right along here! :thumbsup2

Loved the AK parade photos - especially the Minnie jeep. Bad Rafiki, terrorizing you when you were a kid!

Kali River Rapids is a shorter version of the California Adventure's Grizzly River Rapids ride. (And includes the eco political stuff that is missing from CA.) I've only ridden it once in all our trips so that should tell you that we're not the biggest fans. It is probably really refreshing on a hot day though.

WPE with Ghiradelli - sounds like the perfect meal!
