An Instagrammable and Dole Whippy 4th of July Trip Report!**UPDATED 3/4

Haha, you like your ice cream to be more icey. :) A very valid request I think!

Awwwww, I just can't get over all the giraffes! :lovestruc

Bahaha, that's too funny with that guy on the bus. That must have felt so weird at first.

I love the photos as you strolled through World Showcase. I'm with you...I like "firmer" ice cream unless it is supposed to be soft serve (which Mark got a fabulous one in France next to the Slush stand).

I'm glad you got to ride Test Track.

That is the one thing about going to DTD...those buses are awful no matter what resort you stay at (I have to say that is part of the reason I like staying at OKW so we can take the boat unless we have our own car).

So glad you got to meet up with Patty and Emme.

That mango margarita looks yummy!

I think the ride from AKL to DTD is the longest ever. It takes forever !

Haha, that is funny about the guy on the bus thinking you were his wife ... certainly a compliment to his actual wife

yaaay!! happy reunion time.

Finally all caught up! I love your pictures from AKL. I really wasn't expecting to like it there as much as I did, it is definitely one of my favourite resorts that I've stayed at. Our shower spray was really powerful too, must be a resort-wide thing! Next time I go to Le Cellier, I'll be sure to walk up with no reservation and mention the fact that I'm Canadian :rotfl2: What a funny story.

OMG, where was the guy's wife actually sitting on the bus? That's hilarious! Did you and the wife look similar or did he really not notice at all?

Hahah! It was basically because I literally gave up. I really hate this ride. Lol. I like to ride it I guess, but I don't like to play it.

Hi! Just found your TR! I love child-free reports....nothing against kids...I just don't have any myself so I can't relate and have a hard time getting into TRs w/young kids unless they are particularly interesting or humorous.

I don't care for Buzz Lightyear too much either...the guns are not as easy to aim as the ones in Disneyland...which are more of a regular gun that you can actually aim. I like to treat Buzz Lightyear at Disneyworld as more of a Fantasyland style dark ride. I will sometimes sit there and shoot nothing...while just taking in the sights.

This morning was our Animal Kingdom day. We had plans to meet up with Patty and Emme for lunch at Tusker House.

Since Animal Kingdom is always hot we dressed in our comfy wear.

I must admit it was nice to take the bus from AKL right to AK as it was short.

We had a photopass photographer take our picture but my lens was a little bit foggy.

We were going to head to the safari first but I passed the line for Minnie and Mickey in their new meet and greet and it was a walk in! This was a must do for me so I decided to walk in now!

There was only 1 other family meeting them right now!!

In the waiting area there are pics of Mickey and Minnie in various tourist places all over the world.

They are quite the world travelers.

When we got in the room with M&M the other family was leaving. Apparently one of the kids gave Minnie a ringpop as a present. As soon as that family walked out the door Minnie dropped the ring pop and it shattered all over the ground. Then we witnessed the funniest character interaction ever!

Minnie fell to the ground crying because her ring pop broke. Mickey was laughing at her because she was crying. The character attendant and photopass person were both dying of laughter! Then it made me and Corey laugh so hard! Everyone in the room was laughing so hard at Minnie crying! It was hilarious.

Minnie finally calmed down and picked up her ring pop's pieces off the ground.

I made them pose since they are adorable.

Then Corey and I got in with them.

It was one of the best character interactions ever!

Since we got the M&G out of the way we could go on the safari.

We witnessed the waterjugs on the truck to simulate the people. That was kind of cool.

Baby elephant!

The zebras were back on the trail! I guess they were testing them out in a new spot.

Zebra butt!

Warthogs! (Hi Pumba!)

All in all, a decent safari! Not the most active, but it was fun. I liked seeing the zebras new spot.

I guess wanting the ICE cream more ICEY is a valid request! Lol! It was a little weird but then he realized who I was and we laughed about it.

I know what soft serve place you went to! Corey loves that place. I never realize how bad the buses are to DTD. We normally stay at Pop, which is pretty close so now I realize it.

Great pics! :goodvibes
Tahnks!!
Great updates and photos! Love the giraffes!
Thank you, me too!!
That mango margarita looks yummy!

I think the ride from AKL to DTD is the longest ever. It takes forever !
It was good! I love anything with mango and anything that has the word margarita in it!:lmao: I am glad I am not the only one who thinks it is long from AKL to DTD. It felt like the bus driver was taking us way out of the way.
Haha, that is funny about the guy on the bus thinking you were his wife ... certainly a compliment to his actual wife
Haha, I hope it was a compliment to her! It was quite funny. It made for some good bus times.

I agree about AKL. I really loved it so much that I want to always go back there. Good to know about your shower spray being powerful too.

OMG, where was the guy's wife actually sitting on the bus? That's hilarious! Did you and the wife look similar or did he really not notice at all?
The guy's wife was like two spots next to me, haha! It went him, me, his son, and then his wife!! It was really funny. I don't think we looked similar at all! He must not have been attention at all.

HI! So glad you are here!! Only a couple of appearances from little Emme in this TR! I totally agree about the ride in Disneyworld. That is exactly what I did; just sat back and watched everything. I want to go Disneyland someday!!!

Ain't it the truth? AK is easily 10 to 20 degrees hotter than the hottest place on the planet.

Ha, what a cute M&G with the mice. And I think you might have one of the very few M&G photos that's been photo-bombed!!

I always plan my AK wardrobe the same way as you do - it is always a million degrees and I always get soaking wet on Kali River Rapids lol

What a fantastic interaction with M&M! I love when you get to experience unique things like that. Poor Minnie though!

The character interaction sounded fantastic, it must have been so cool to witness :)

Great update (if I close my eyes and don't see Corey's shirt ;) ). What a great character interaction with Mickey & Minnie; I love when there is interaction like that.

You got some great pictures on the safari...especially the giraffes and the baby elephant.

All caught up !! LOL at Mickey and Minnie. We didn't see the zebras on our safari last month. Maybe it is a sometime thing? Anyhoodle your pictures are great !!

Susan

I fell behind, so sorry if my comments seem random.

Your view is amazing considering you didn't have to pay for a savannah view! How stinkin' cute is that baby giraffe?

So funny that guy thought you were his wife. At least he realized it before he put his arm around you or something. That situation could have become awkward to say the least!

Oh my goodness, Minnie is just darling. Your pictures perfectly captured that whole scenario.
