An conventions/events gpong on week after thanksgiving?

Just curious how the crowds will be, as I was not able to even get a rack rate room at BC, YC or BW for Nov. 29 to Dec.5th. I am wondering now if there is something going on that I don't know about, as I thought the week after turkey day started one of the slowest periods of the year!

I was told that a lot of DVCers and Floridians come during that 1st weekend. I'm not sure about anything else.

While the DVC annual meetings are held during this period, I don't think it would have a big impact on the availability of regular hotel rooms, just the villas.


There is almost always some sort of convention group in Orlando, it would have to be a particularly large group to have a major impact on BC, YC and BW room availability.

Maybe it is just tourism finally returning to "normal" after 9-11?

Lets see, the first week of December...

Pop Warner Football, the DVC annual meeting, at least one convention, and Mousefest-a large internet gathering, are all the first week of Dec.

There is a kids football event in Daytona every year during the week of Thanksgiving. I know alot of families stay the week after or the week before to make a long vacation out of it.
