An Ap question other than when do rates come out..

I have never used an ap before and therefore not the rates either. when they finally do come out do I need to do anything except call cro? if they do not have any left for my resort is there any way around that...some one said something about making multiple reservation numbers???? is it possible I may have to change my reservation to get them?

also do AAA and Ap have comparable rates in case I can't get an AP rate? is it frequently the case that you can not get one even if you call in as soon as they are released? ( mentally picturing CRT)
I have been totally calm waiting for the rates and now I'm panicing!!!!!

AP rates are usually much better than AAA. AAA are not more than 20% off (15% for deluxe), AP rates can be 40%-50% off. If you can get AAA now, I would get it to have just in case AP rates do not come out. They are not guaranteed to come out, as I found out on my Oct 1 to 6 trip (no AP rates 8/24 to 10/1, we used AAA instead).

If you currently have a "room only" reservation, you maybe able to keep your same reservation #. If AP rates are not available for your stay, you can ask if they are available for individual nights. You maybe able to get the discount on some of your nights by making multiple reservations.

so if I understand this right even if rates do not come out I can ask for a better rate? so even though there are technically not AP rates they might still give them just not for the whole trip.?.we are at FW does anyone know if they rates for that are usually worse thatn the hotels... is it the more expensive the room the better the rate?
