An almost-girly trip ~ February 2009 TR!

Very exciting! We'll be looking up to the skies and waving to you! Very cool. I don't think I could do that. My husband is the adventurer. a pilot, scuba diver, snowmobilier, hockey player. I just stay home and worry:rotfl: :confused3 :rotfl2: I can't believe we have less than 2 weeks. I'm so excited! Have you started much packing, or are you waiting for the weather forcast? I am soooo sick of the weather here. I shoveled 2 times and there still is some left. It finally stopped, but there is too much in general. Got to go an dig out some shorts for the boys. :cool1: Have a good weekend.:thumbsup2

I am so jealous that you are going to go parasailing!! That is so awesome. I want to do that someday, you are going to have so much fun. What a fantastic birthday for your sister! pixiedust:

Oh, you should totally try to do it on one of your trips! This is the link that my dad went by, in case you are interested.

http://www.sammyduvall.com/parasailing.htm

I'm so glad that she's going to have all this on her birthday; she wasn't sure what she was going to do before we booked the trip. I know she'd also like to go horseback riding, but I'm not about to attempt to squeeze that in on her birthday, too. :rotfl:

I should say not!

That'll be an awesome birthday!

I would love to take pictures from way up high! ::yes::

I know!! She will remember it, for sure. I don't remember my 16th birthday so it was clearly nothing big. :rotfl2:

I'm pretty sure that you're allowed to take pictures up there, so I'm definitely taking advantage of that. My camera has a wrist strap, luckily!

And I will be waving right back! :wave2: And taking pictures!

:lmao: That sounds kinda like my mom. (no offense Mom, you know I love you.)

I haven't started packing too much, even though I really want to. What about you? I'm mostly bringing jeans, t-shirts, and a few long-sleeved shirts and 2 hoodies, just in case it's cool at night. I can deal with hoodies, though, because I won't be wearing two of them under my winter coat with a scarf, gloves, and ear warmers. :crazy2:

My dad was in Rochester for work earlier in the week, and when he called my mom on either Tuesday or Wednesday night, he said that it was snowing like crazy. We were supposed to get a lot of snow on Wednesday night, but it was only a few inches, then it turned to sleet. Then it changed too rain, so all the snow turned to slush. Then, it all froze overnight. I'd rather have just straight-up snow; I hate it when all the slush turns to ice. I kept on telling myself on Wednesday, when I was clearing off my car and shoveling, that I'd be far, far away from all of it in just two weeks.

You have a good weekend, too!

11 days!!!:hyper: :hyper: :hyper: I wish my ticker said 11 days! You guys are going to have a blast parasailing - I went in Mexico a few years ago, and it was sooooo much fun. My sister and I went tandem, and I think the entire time we were up in the air we were just acting goofy and singing (probably broadway songs) REALLY LOUDLY. We're goofy like that.

Anyway WAHOO for 11 days!

Oh yeah, I'm sure that will be Kailyn and I. :rotfl: Once we get started together, it's hard to stop.

I can't believe it's getting so close!!! By the time you have 11 days left, I will be lamenting my trip gone by!

And I was excited to ride Toy Story Mania for my birthday. I'm so holding out for something better this year. Hear that MeMom Disney in October?!?!?

When we went to Myrtle Beach two years ago Patrick, my sister, and I went parasailing (or more like Patrick and my sister went and I got dragged along!) They had a ton of fun, me, not so much.

It sounds like Kailyn is going to have an awesome birthday...all I remember about my 16th birthday is Patrick running into the clothes line and scrapping up his face!

I still can't convince my sister that she would ever want to go to Disney, but I haven't given up hope yet.

Jill, good luck with getting to go on your birthday! Extra shopping money would always be nice (especially with two little girls to spoil)

This is a big surprise to me! I asked if you'd rather go for Halloween stuff or Christmas stuff, and you said Christmas. Good thing I haven't booked the room yet, huh? We need to have a talk, young lady!!!

TEN DAYS!

:rotfl2: Let me know if you come up with anything!

I am dying to try Toy Story Mania--I've heard so many awesome things about it. I wonder if we'll be able to get on on Valentine's Day, when the American Idol experience officially opens up. I'm not sure I want to be there on that day, though. :crazy2:

I meant to ask you, when is Isabella due? I know it's in April, and my birthday is April 13, so I was curious to see if it would be around then. :upsidedow

I'm really excited for parasailing, but I'm also kinda nervous--I'm not really a fan of heights, but I can deal with them in most cases, like as long as I'm strapped in. I don't mind tall buildings, either, but I cannot watch anything where people are standing on the edge of something and there's a huge drop--it really freaks me out. Charles, on the other hand, is really afraid of heights, so I'm not sure he'd ever do anything like that. He doesn't even like escalators that have rails at his waist or lower, and he HATES it when I try to peer over balconies or something to get a better view--he gets wicked nervous! I made the mistake of doing that on his brother and sister-in-law's balcony, but his brother almost gave HIM a heart attack trying to scare ME by grabbing my waist quickly when I was leaning over. I just laughed but Charles was yelling at him. :rotfl:

I hope you can convince your sister! Maybe once you and Patrick get back and she sees all the pictures, she will be swayed.

My vote would be Halloween stuff. ;) I'd actually vote for both, but realistically, if I had to choose one, I'd go with that!

I am already dancing because I told somebody at work that we're leaving next week! :hourglass I can't wait to bring out the suitcases. I'm still working on keeping away from the pile of clothes that I have set aside.

I know I'm in the minority, but I'm not as crazy about Toy Story Midway Mania as most people are. I like it, but I don't just luuuuuuuv it like most people seem to. I hope you are not disappointed, since it's been so hyped up. It's fun, but I mostly go on it because the others want to. Maybe it's because I'm not competitive or something, so I don't get the rush out of getting the points. If we go in March and get a chance to ride it, I'm going to completely forget about taking pictures and totally concentrate on getting points and see if I have a different view of it. Jill loves it, and so do the thousands of people who rush to it every morning, so I must just be missing something.

I think the date they finally settled on for Isabella is the 11th.

My vote would be for both October and December, too, but my back account will not agree with me, I can assure you.

Did you see Brooklynn's dancing videos over on our TR? Maybe you can get some pointers for your dancing at work. :goodvibes

   Single digits dance! :)

Are ya ready, are ya ready? :hyper:

About the heights thing on the parasailing...I am not a heights person either, but I love parasailling. You'd be surprised at how stable you feel when you are all strapped in and stuff. I think you will really enjoy it.

Yeah, I'm trying not to expect too much, despite all that I have read. I'm not super competitive, either, but chances are, if we do get on, I will ride with my dad and he will make my competitive side come out to play by "challenging" me or telling me that "it is SO on!" :rotfl2:

I did see Brookie's dancing! I was cracking up! I was going to PM you a link of a video that Kailyn took me of me dancing in Ohio (I was going to PM it because it has our last name on her profile), but apparently you need to be logged in to see it. No loss. :rotfl: It wasn't nearly as good as Brooklynn's dancing, anyway, so I need to watch again and get some pointers. ;)

I was so excited to take that first single-digit Mickey head off my door!!! And knowing that this Thursday is my last Thursday class before we leave, and that next week will be my last Monday night class, and that this week is my last full week of work...it's crazy! I can't wait for my dad to get home so I can start asking him what time we'll be leaving for the airport. :hyper:

Thanks so much for letting me know that about the parasailing--as long as I feel stable, I'm good. :)

In order to get myself a little more hyped up for the trip (like being in the single digits and leaving next week isn't enough), I've been on YouTube constantly, watching ride videos and also some videos that I remember Kailyn watching when she was little. They were called Mickey's Fun Songs, and there were camping ones at Fort Wilderness, a beach party one at Blizzard Beach, and even a circus one. I must have been about 13 or 14 when she was watching these, but I still really enjoyed them, and thanks to the magic of YouTube, I can watch them. I even watch the circus one even though I am afraid of clowns. You can point and laugh, it's okay. It's mostly when they have the full makeup; ones that just have noses, wigs, and a little makeup are acceptable. Not likable, but acceptable. There are certain parts that I can't watch without getting a little jumpy, but for the most part, I think that the Disney part of it kind of cancels out the creepiness of the clowns. :upsidedow

I've also been watching ride videos on YouTube. My parents got used to me sitting in the living room on my laptop, wearing my earphones, and lifting my arms and squealing at random intervals (Tower of Terror, Everest), or just sitting there quietly with my eyes glued to the screen, probably with a big smile (Soarin.) I love YouTube. :lovestruc

Have a great day!

Oh, good! I figured I wasn't because I got the idea of YouTubing rides from somewhere on here. :rotfl2:

We are EIGHT DAYS away! :hyper: Tomorrow, I'll be able to start playing the "this time next week" game. I kind of already am. "This time next week, I will be dropping off Caesar at camp [what we call the vet's office where we board him]; doing laundry, packing, cleaning..."

Since my dad's the one driving us all to Logan Airport, I asked him what time we're leaving next week. Our flight got bumped back from 10:20 AM to 9:30 AM, much to my excitement. He said that we should leave around 6:30, get there by 7, drop off Mom, Kailyn, and I at the terminal with our luggage and carryon stuff, and then go find a spot to park. Even if he has to park offsite, he should hopefully be meeting back up with us around 7:30, and then we can go through all the fun stuff that airports are made of. Chances are, we'll be hanging around the gate waiting for a little while, but I'd rather be THERE and waiting.

I also finally printed out my packing lists yesterday, after making God knows how many changes to it. Now that it's printed, I have decided that there can be NO MORE CHANGES. I can now start sorting my clothes and such and be able to check off the things on the list as I go along.

I WAS also planning on taking Caesar's vaccination certificate to the kennel today, but since it's snowing and I'm not sure how the roads are, I'm a little nervous to. I was also planning to ask what time I said that I'd drop him off when I made the arrangements a few weeks ago. I'm thinking I said 11 AM, but I could be wrong.

This is what the countdown on my door looks like right now!

n505059094_1271039_7519.jpg

Nice, huh?!

Also right now, it is snowing. Again. I swear we've had more snow this winter than we did all last winter. There also hasn't been any chance for any of it to melt. I don't even know how much we are supposed to get. My mom heard 5-8", but my dad heard 1-3" on another station.

I can't wait to leave all this behind for a week!

n505059094_1270974_3412.jpg

n505059094_1270975_3822.jpg

Caesar kinda likes the snow.

n505059094_1270977_8315.jpg

And here are some random pictures from last night. I was trying to get 3-D glasses on Caesar, but he was having none of it.

n505059094_1270962_217.jpg

n505059094_1270963_587.jpg

For some reason, Caesar really likes to be pulled back when he's sitting with someone, so that he's laying on his back. Sometimes, if he's in someone's lap, he will turn his head and STARE. And stare and stare and stare. And then push himself back a little, and then stare some more. Once he's pulled back, he will stay like that until whoever is holding him has to get up. He even falls asleep that way.

n505059094_1270965_1342.jpg

I wanted to get a picture of the three of us. I love how Caesar is looking like, "WHAT YOU ARE DOING?" :rotfl:

n505059094_1270966_2563.jpg

I pointed out to Kailyn how it looked like I missed a chunk of her when I was dying it, just because of how my hair fell over hers a little. She looked horrified. :rotfl2:

Have a good Tuesday!

Hurray for 8 days -- that countdown is looking pretty spiffy!

I can't believe how much snow is banked on the sidewalks! I hope it is warm and sunny for you down in Florida!

Ceasar is cracking me up -- he has what we call "the crazy dog" look in that snow picture. Our Bella likes to sleep propped up against the arm of the chair on her back -- we always joke that she thinks she is a human.

All that snow is driving me insane! I've been routinely checking the weather forecasts for Florida, and it says it's only in the upper 40's today, but if the forecasts for the next week hold true, it'll be in the 70's during the day. That's my kind of weather!

That's so cute about Bella! If we have to get up and move Caesar off our lap, he will stay in any position that we put him in, and we frequently put him in that position. I did that once and put the remote control between his paws. :rotfl2: I'll have to see if that picture made it on to Facebook so I can post it here.

7 DAYS!!! :cool1:

Are you excited???

I am SO excited!!!! I kept on waking up randomly last night, and every time I did, I'd look at the clock to see what time it was. Once it was like 5:42 AM and before falling back asleep, I thought, "this time next week, I'll be up and getting ready to leave!"

It's time for you to play the "this time next week, I will be..." game for us!!!

    7 DAYS!

So...this time next week....what will you be doing??

I love this game

Welllllll...this time next week I will still be on the plane, but we're supposed to land in Orlando around 12:30, so I'll probably be on the plane going NUTS with anticipation.

Then, we will be riding the fake monorail (which I LOVE), to the Magical Express check-in. My mom will check in, and then we'll walk the red carpet to wait for our bus to Pop Century. I'm guessing that we'll probably be at Pop by around 2:30, because the ME was really effective the last time. Oh, and I will be taking pictures on the bus, and watching the video and exploding with excitement. pixiedust:

I know that check-in at Pop isn't supposed to be until around 4, but we will check in, hopefully get our requested room in the 70's section, and probably go to the food court to get sometime to eat. I'm pretty sure that we have decided on doing the nighttime EMH at AK, but there'll probably be time to squeeze in a park before that. I'm holding out for Epcot, since that's my favorite. :upsidedow We'll hopefully get to ride SSE, Figment, Everest, and Dinosaur before going back to Pop and sleeping so that we can get up for our morning EMH at MK!

Playing this game tomorrow, Friday, and over the weekend will be much, much more fun. I'm working tomorrow morning, and have class at night, but one week from the time that I'm at work tomorrow, I'll be playing in MK and getting to meet Tink and friends!!!!

I'm also really excited because my cousin has a class at the same time as me on Thursday nights, so I pick her up at the train station when she gets out of work, and we normally go to get something to eat before we head to school. She knows that I'm going to Florida next week, but she asked me to remind her, because she can see herself forgetting and going to the station and waiting for me, and I'm excited to remind her. :rotfl2: It will also be my second-to-last day of class! I have about four days left of work, because I might end up working on Saturday if they need me.

Has anybody seen the Subway commercials for the $5 foot-long? Well, take that tune, and sing, "seven...seven...seven days 'til Florida!" That's what my dad's been doing ever since we hit the single digits. :rotfl:

Is it sick that I can't wait to start packing?!

Have a great day!

It's going to be so awesome when you walk out the back of Classic Hall and feast your eyes upon the bright colors of the Hippy Dippy pool area. It will seem a little surreal to see the palm trees and feel the warm sunshine, knowing that back home everything is covered in white.

I hope it is in the 70's every day. That would be perfect!
