An almost-girly trip ~ February 2009 TR!

YAY FOR 3 DAYS!!!!

And I saw on your packing list that you have the athens croc flip flops...I have two pair and LOVE them! They are what made me rethink my croc opinion.

I'm so excited for you! Good luck at work and your observation!

I've been trying to wear the Athens around the house and I really really like them. I also broke down and got a pair of Alice Crocs, and I like them a lot, too. It was justified, I swear -- endless.com (part of Amazon, apparently, but they carry shoes and handbags,) offered FREE one-day shipping!! I'd be a lunatic to turn that down! :rotfl:

Thank you for the good luck!! I made it through work AND got to leave on time, at 8 -- my coworker was fine and by the time she came in at 7 PM, it was really really dead. The observation should be pretty easy, since there's an outline of what she wants for the first draft, and it's really basic stuff.

I also JUST realized that after I do that, I need to buy a small bag of dog food for Caesar for when he's at the kennel, since he doesn't eat the brand of food that they have, and I don't want him to have any stomach issues when he's already anxiety-ridden about being in a strange place. I had to add that to my to-do list so that I have a reminder staring me in the face. :)

I'm getting excited for you, as well! I'm excited to see your updates. And any ADR's. I love me some Disney dining.

We made a bunch of ADR's back in NOV when we booked....But I think we have decided to cancel most, keep one or two, and do a special tour. Patrick and I are going to treat Ann since she is being wonderful and taking us!

The only problem now is that we have some great ADR's so deciding which ones to cancel is killer :confused3

We probably won't even make a final decision until the week before when I force the other two to sit down and tell me what they want.

I'm glad to hear that your night went well, and as I already said, I'm sure that the next two days will fly by!

OMG, 2 days!! Ha ha. I make lists like that too....and I tend to do mine late at night (ie, 1am) cause I am not home otherwise. Plus, I don't know, I will get stuff out to pack days (and days, and days) in advance and not put anything in a suitcase until the night before. Late the night before. Cause I am usually too excited to sleep, so why not just use that time to pack? :rotfl:

That's so nice of you guys to treat her! Do you have any ideas what tour you might do? Or will that be in your PTR? I love reading about this stuff. :rotfl:

I would have an awful time with figuring out what ADR's to keep and not to keep. I think that's partially why we don't make too many. Chef Mickey's is the only one that's ALWAYS on our list, because it's a tradition for us and we'd probably be confused if we didn't go.

It's definitely go to fly by -- I keep on telling myself that I'm leaving in less than 48 hours. :hyper: I did a little more packing, but I forgot some stuff when I went to Target, because I hadn't had my daily dose of caffeine. So I need to go back, probably this afternoon, because I'm not really feeling writing that draft just now. I did the observation in my mom's class, though, and it was great. The kids were sooooo cute. One little boy even gave me a toy car to play with. :rotfl2:

Oh good, I'm not alone in my weird list-making times. I make mine late at night for the same reason as you do. Or I'm just bored and can't sleep. :rotfl:

I was definitely considering packing LATE tomorrow! Then I realized that I need to clean and I'd get PO'd about having to clean -around- my clothes and suitcase and bag. Most of the stuff that I have left to pack is last-minute stuff. I'd love to pack my camera but I'm still waiting to give it to my boyfriend so that he can take the pictures and videos that I have on there from a show in December. I'm about to just make him a CD, because there are pictures from a whale watch that we did in JUNE that he wanted too. I'm actually going to try to do that now, because I'm always SO scared I'll forget my camera!

That we are!!!! I got a text from my dad today that said "2........2 days til Florida!" I just texted him back and said to forget 2 days, that we're leaving in less than 48 hours. He texted me back with, "BE THERE IN 48!!" :dance3:

He is aiming to leave the house around 6-6:30 so that we can do curbside check-in, and so that he can find a home for the van for a week, and so we have plenty of time to go through security and all that fun stuff. I said that 6 sounded better. ;)

WOO HOO!! You are so very close!!

I know!! I'm getting crazy with anticipation. My dad texted me during class to remind me of how many hours we had left before our flight took off. It's a good thing that I really like that class and it's not just sitting and listening to a lecture, because I would have REALLY let my my mind wander. I already kind of was, like when we were watching some video, but then we were put into groups and actually had to do work. Imagine interfering with my "in this many hours, we'll be in Disney World!" daydreaming! :rotfl2:

Sounds like you are just about ready to go :thumbsup2
The day that we leave I have a class that is before we have to go to the airport, they changed our flights so that now I wouldn't have to miss my class...but I'm not sure I'm going to be able to go knowing that as soon as I get out we would be heading to the airport! Good luck finishing up your packing and stuff!

One day moooooooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeee! I love my Alice crocs, wearing them right now as a matter of fact.

Just checking in to see if there was anything cool going on over here.

Anything especially exciting happening any time soon? :dance3:

Did you get the puppy's food?
Poor little guy is going to miss you, so having his own food and no tummy toubles is a good thing.
Are you going to bring him back a souvenir?
It may sound silly, but I miss my little cat guy when I'm gone on trips, and I am told he misses me.

I was cracking up last night because they have a new Subway commericial and I immediatly thought of you and your dad. Please tell me you have seen it, it's hilarious!!

Oh my gosh, I would NOT be able to handle being in class right before leaving for Disney! I'd be going absolutely nuts!

I am soooo ready to go! Last night, Kailyn would be walking by my room, or in the dining room (near my room), and I'd call to her,

"Hey Kailyn?"
"Yeah?"
"Less than 36 hours!!!"

And then we'd start going "AHHH!!" "AHHHH!" and spazzing out. :lmao: I wish I could be a fly on the wall so I could see and hear us, and what we look like when we're doing that.

As soon as I read that, I got One Day More from Les Miserables stuck in my head, and that immediately knocked out all the songs that my sister has been singing to me. :rotfl:

I love the Alice Crocs, I'm so glad that I decided to get them.

One Day Dance! One Day Dance! :woohoo:

 We're leaving for the airport in about 21 hours, and our flight's in about 24.5. :hyper: :scared1: :woohoo:

We leave for the airport in 21 hours and our flight is in 24.5 hours!! This time tomorrow, I'll be boarding or getting ready to board the plane! I think that we're row 18 or something, so we'll be one of the first ones on and one of the last ones off, but who cares! We're going to Disney!

I did get his food. I normally get him the big 40-50 lb. bag, and there's not too much left in that one, but it's much easier to store a small bag than a really big, mostly-empty bag.

I'm going to try to bring him back a souvenir. I had a hard time with doing that before, because I never really could find the hard plastic toys. He's gotten better, but when he was younger, he used to tear apart plush toys in a matter of hours, depending on the size. Then, he'd try -- and if we didn't see him right away, succeed in -- eating the stuffing. :headache: It just got easier to buy him hard plastic toys, because they're pretty much indestructible. My grandmother got him a little plush toy for Christmas, though, and it's still all in one piece! There's a really small tear along the seam, but that's it. My old dogs never played with toys, really, but Caesar loves them. If I go to PetSmart, he'll immediately start sniffing the bag and trying to nose his way into it.

Doesn't sound silly at all  I do miss him when I'm gone. It's going to be weird when I drop him off later and don't come home to him standing at the top of the stairs, wagging his tail so much that the entire back part of his body is wiggling. :(

I was cracking up last night because they have a new Subway commericial and I immediatly thought of you and your dad. Please tell me you have seen it, it's hilarious!!

I haven't seen it yet! I need to now, though -- I'm going to write a reminder to my family to please call me out to the living room if they see it. :rotfl2:

I'm mostly packed! The only things I have left are the things that I'll need in the morning.

I don't really have too much planned today, but I want to keep busy. As soon as Charles wakes up and I'm ready to go, this is the plan for today:

--Drop off Caesar at the kennel. I hate doing this. I'm so glad that Charles told me about this place, though, because not only are they a vet's office, but they are soooo nice and I know that he's in good hands. I just hate seeing how nervous he is.

--Go to the mall to get a gift for Charles's cousin's/goddaughter's birthday.

--Pick up Charles's contacts

--Go over to his house for a pot roast dinner that his mother is making. (I wish I could find a drooling smiley)

--Drop Charles off at his brother and SIL's apartment so they can watch the hockey game. Charles asked a few days ago if I minded, and I said no. He's asked me a few times since then, just to make sure. He's so considerate. :lovestruc

--Count down the minutes and the hours in my mind!!! The clock is ticking, :hourglass and I AM SO READY!!

Have a great day!!!!!

Hey, Just checking in. Thanks for the birthday wish. My real birthday is Fri (I know, I was born on Fri the 13th only 1/2 hr from valentines day) People tell me that explains alot:lmao: I'm so excited, except that we spent last night at the doctors with my little one. I'm waiting for the xray results to see if he has pneumonia:sad1: I don't think he does. He just has had a nasty cough and they want to be certain. Puts a big damper on the pre vacation excitement, but he seems no worse for the wear. He was happy he didn't have to go to school:thumbsup2 The doc says he is fine to fly and go, but is on antibiotics and breathing treatments.
I can't believe we leave tomorrow:yay: I just hope my little one is better soon. Don't know if I'll have time to check back before we leave, but I'll try. If not, have a safe flight and maybe I'll see you in the World:banana:

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I can't believe that you only have one more day!!! I'm so excited for you :cool1: I don't think I am going to go to the class before our flight takes off....like you, I would never be able to sit still!

Caesar's attitude towards toys sounds a lot like Bailey and Lucky's (Bailey's brother) attitude. They rip the stuffing out in about 5 seconds! We got them a squeaking hedgehog last winter and they had it apart in about 10 minutes, then they proceeded to drag the empty "carcass" all over the house. Eventually it ended up outside where our older dog would play with it, but only when she thought no one was watching :rotfl:

So....soooooooooooooon!!! Only one more day!!! :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: Creepy dancing guy dances just for you! Heh heh!

We have an ADR at Le Cellier on Friday, I think 12:30 -- where will you be? Oh and I was born on Friday the 13th too!!!

So sorry about your little guy. Kailyn is actually kinda sick, too. She was coughing a lot last night, and today she just started feeling icky. I think she's just got a cold, but it still stinks to get sick right before vacation. She drew the short straw last year, too -- when we were at Logan, we all got some food to tide us over until our flight, and she got a fruit and yogurt parfait. She had a reaction to one of the kinds of berries in there; her stomach started feeling weird, and then she broke out in hives from the backs of her hands to her elbows. :sad2: She's a really good sport though, so she's dealing and just taking DayQuil.

I do hope I run into you down there!! I'm going to have a LGMH attached to my bag with my username written on it. :thumbsup2

I was going to suggest you just don't go to class but I didn't want to be a bad influence. But now that you've said it, I wholeheartedly agree with not going to that class.

That's so funny about your dogs, I can just picture that, and it's hilarious. :rotfl: Do they like squeaky toys? I remember that one of Caesar's first toys (I think I got it right before we got him) was a plush soccer ball with a squeaker in the middle. He somehow managed to kill the squeak, and after he killed it, he'd keep on trying to get it squeak and would seem really confused when it didn't make any noise. The toy that my grandmother got him squeaks and he goes nuts! Charles's puppy once managed to get the squeaker OUT of a toy.

So....soooooooooooooon!!! Only one more day!!! :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: Creepy dancing guy dances just for you! Heh heh!

Yup yup! Our flight is in just over 13.5 hours!!!

Love the creepy dancers -- thanks!! :lmao:

***************

I got home a little while ago from dropping off Charles, and my internet decided to not play nicely with my laptop. Tonight of all nights. Doesn't my internet know I need to get on here?! So, I'm currently mooching off someone else's unsecured wireless signal. :rolleyes1

I dropped off Caesar this afternoon, and it was hard, like usual, but the people there are SO nice. The woman that took him in was very sweet, and he resisted going with her at first, but after a little gentle encouragement, he followed her, and the last thing I saw was his head and tail picking up, and him trotting right after her. He's been there a few times before so I think that once he got over the whole "holy crap a vet's office," and realized that he wasn't there to be poked and prodded, that he was okay.

I have everything packed; the only things that need to go in are the things that I'll need tomorrow morning. Everything that I think should be in baggies, are in baggies. I was thrilled to find a 3 fl. oz. bottle of contact solution that Kailyn had. I wanted to wear my contacts but was worried about them bothering me, because I haven't worn them much lately. I'm planning on wearing my contacts and bringing my glasses in their case in my purse or carryon. So now I have a TSA-approved bottle of contact solution in my carryon, in a baggie, just in case.

We're leaving around 6-6:30 tomorrow morning, so I'm going to set my alarm for 4 or 4:15, so I can get up and be showered and ready in decent time. I'm sure that this is the only time in my life that I will ever set an alarm for that time and actually want to get up.

So, I'm almost all packed, my Disney luggage tags are attached to my suitcase, my LGMH is safely tucked into my carryon with its piece of ribbon, waiting to be attached to my bag, my car is buried in our driveway (so as to not take up an extra spot in the street for a week), the faceplate to my radio is safely on my desk, and I'm not the least bit tired.

Have a great night everyone!!!

Have a wonderful time and say hi to all the gang for me!!!
Looking forward to all the juicy details when you return!
