An almost-girly trip ~ February 2009 TR!

Yummmmm....AK....For some unknown reason I love Pizzafari! For some reason we never made it there on our last trip, so that is def. on our list for this trip!

It's going to be so awesome when you walk out the back of Classic Hall and feast your eyes upon the bright colors of the Hippy Dippy pool area. It will seem a little surreal to see the palm trees and feel the warm sunshine, knowing that back home everything is covered in white.

I hope it is in the 70's every day. That would be perfect!

I know! I can't wait. Kailyn fell on the ice today (she wasn't really hurt, she was holding on to a fence so she just fell on one knee), and I'm so over all the slush and snow. Needless to say, we've all been having a good time reminding ourselves and each other of where we'll be next week.

I do, too! The 70's are my PERFECT weather. I don't like extreme cold, and I hate being too hot.

So, now, at 7:00 at night this time next week, you should be enjoying your AK EMH!!! Wave to the Yeti for me.

Yup!!! Kailyn and I went to the grocery store because I NEEDED to make pasta salad, and we were talking about how we'd be in AK at that same time next week. I will let Mr. Yeti know that you guys will be there in a few short months!

I don't think we've ever been there, but I looked at the menu on allears, and it looks good! I'm tempted by the key lime pie and the chicken. I think that Kailyn would eat the fruit and the salad, minus the chicken.

New car is good!

It might get a little cozy in the suitcase with the three work friends I have told can hide in there, but go ahead!

I was having such a good time with my fantasizing today. At 7:45 AM, I was telling myself that I'd be waiting to be let into MK at that exact time next week instead of driving to work, and that it would not be 9 degrees out. It's only 3:30 now, and I'm getting ready to pick up my cousin, get food, and go to class until around 9, and all I can think is how we will still have the whole afternoon and night ahead of us next week.

Yup, six days, and only three days left of work! I picked up a shift today and a shift on Saturday to get some extra money, AND I got two checks from work! One was my regular paycheck, and the other was the 24 hours of sick time from last year that I never used. Now all I need is my federal tax refund to come.

I think it's so funny that you Dad is singing to the tune of the Subway commercials. Very funny and now it's stuck in my head.

It's been getting stuck in my head, too! That, and some song from Veggie Tales that Kailyn kept on singing last night...well, one line of a song from Veggie Tales, because that was all she knew. Apparently our cousin is obsessed with that soundtrack.

5 days....have you started packing?

Kind of. I have a pile of clothes on my carryon bag, and only a few more things to add to that pile, because I need to do a little more laundry. I'm probably going to start making a pile of the non-clothes things, like my camera and autograph book and stuff, either tonight after work or over the weekend. I really can't wait to start piling everything into the suitcase and my carryon bag, though.

I can't believe that the week is practically over and that we are leaving so soon! Today is my third-to-last day of work; I'm on vacation after Sunday! I can't wait to see what I'm working so that I can say I'll be on vacation as of __ PM on Sunday.

I didn't get a chance to answer last night, so now it's only 4 days!

I took down one more today, so there's only three left! I'm getting so very close to that last one.

Oh, wow, that is perfect weather for me, because it'll be warm, but not too hot. It's about 19 here right now, so that's going to feel tropical. There's no chance of snow in the forecast before we leave, either, which is what I was worrying about.

MORNING 4 DAYS !!!!

Yup 4 days!!!! (that guy cracks me up)

I'm actually getting ready for my second-to-last day of work, which is only a 10-3 shift. As of tomorrow at 8 PM, I'm officially on vacation from work!! I have my Monday night class, and I have to go to my mom's class that morning to observe for another class, but I'm done for the most part. And I'm usually out of my Monday night class pretty early -- she lets us out around 8:30-8:45 instead of 9:15.

I'm definitely posting a picture if I get the bunny "outfit" for my car! Maybe I'll even be able to get a picture of the reaction of Charles, Michael, and my dad. When I picked up Charles from work one day with the antlers on my car, he stopped dead and just stared. His two sisters and his mother LOVED it, as did my mom and Kailyn. Guys just don't appreciate it.

I forget, are you going to do a belated celebration in Disney? My parents are doing their anniversary belatedly -- it was in September, but for some reason, they didn't get the chance to do anything.

I'm starting to get a little nervous too, and I only have to worry about myself and getting just my room clean! It's already clean, but I want to dust and vacuum and mop. I have a pile of clothes on the bag that I use as my carryon/laptop bag; the clothes are just waiting to go into the suitcase. I'll probably do the rest of the packing on Tuesday.

We had that kind of weather here, too! It was great. I think that Sunday might actually hit 50. You have a good weekend too! Almost three days now!!!!

As I eloquently described to Katie, using smilies, I'm super excited, nervous, and in shock that we are leaving SO SOON. I can't imagine what my mom and those of you with kids went through and go through with packing and preparing and such. I'm only responsible for myself! I'm sure it was a happy day in my mom's life when Michael and I were old enough to pack our own stuff, and an even happier day when Kailyn was able to do it herself.

I'm working until either 8 or 9 tonight, and it's my last night of work! I'm really only scheduled until 8, but my coworker is back to work tonight after being in a nasty car accident and being out of work for a few weeks. So, my manager asked me if I could stay an extra hour if she needed the help, and I said yes.

Tomorrow, I have to go and observe my mother's class for about 45 minutes, and then come home and write about a page-long draft for my Thursday night class, since that assignment is due the day after we get home. After that, I'll be cleaning and getting the rest of my stuff ready. On Tuesday, dropping off my pup at "camp," going out with Charles, and turning in early (or trying to), since I'll have to be up at 4:45 or 5:00 to be ready to leave for the airport around 6-6:30.

This is my packing corner -- everything there, except for the boots, slippers, and books, are coming with me. I think I need to refold my clothes because I have two pairs of jeans that are going in, along with some other small-ish things. The black bag on the right is my carryon/laptop bag. I bought it specifically for school, because it has lots of pockets and a separate, waterproof compartment for a laptop. It works GREAT as a carryon. It's not too big, and it fits a lot.

This is what my desk looked like while I was packing. Can you see the date and time that I started on my list? Not too eager or anything.

I can't believe it's almost here!!!!
