Don't bother with the brownies until you can taste them. They did me no good at all. Drew, on the other hand, enjoyed them immensely.
So, if you have a hungry brownie eater who will devour 6/8ths of the pan alone (I ate one and Trent ate one - Drew and his friend, Neil, had the rest), then go for it. Otherwise, wait a few days until you can enjoy them. I'm going to make some again next weekend when Jill is here for our Christmas stuff. By then, the taste buds should be back to normal.
As for the brownies, they looked delicious. They just tasted kind of like the box they came in.![]()
We do the Nyquil, too, but instead of choking down the syrup, we do the caplets. It really does help a person sleep.
P.S. I put a strand of lights in each of the boys' windows while they weren't at home. They rolled their eyes, but they've been okay with it. I guess they figure they shouldn't make any of Santa's helpers angry so close to Christmas.
I could kind of taste them! It seems that my sense of taste is the worst in the morning, and then after a couple of hours, it starts to return. Half the pan is already gone, and that's pretty amazing, considering that Michael is normally the one to assist in eating all the good stuff, and he's been at work since before I made them.

When I was typing that, he actually came into my room to tell me that he's going to put Christmas lights in his Jeep, around the roll bars, for when we go out on Christmas eve "busting Christmas carols" and giving out candy canes. I asked him if pretty twinkling lights would affect the manliness of it, but he's sure that it won't. Ooookay.

Here are some of my pictures from the TSO concert. Apparently I don't have the pictures of them giving the donation, Charles does.
Where we parked. Charles was glad that I had taken a picture, because we had to pull out the camera to check.

We were SO excited to be in the second row--both kind of sick, but really excited. (and, I've had to wear my glasses for a while because my contacts have been bugging the crap out of me. I hope it gets better before our trip because I really like wearing sunglasses)

For one song, everyone was told to take out their cell phones and wave them around. Before, there were lighters, and now there are cell phones!

She was so cute and awesome. I wish I had gotten a picture of the adorable Asian violinist; he looked so happy and like he was having so much fun.

(These are obviously not TSO related, but I wanted to share them anyway)
Caesar has this fondness for laying in front of the vent whenever the heat is on. If he's in the living room, the moment he hears it come on, he trots right over and lays down, often with his paws pressed up against it. He was rescued in Puerto Rico so I can kind of see why he likes the warmth.

He also likes to belly-crawl under my bed. He crawls all the way under a LOT in the summer, but sometimes he just likes to go partially underneath, with his frog legs sticking out.

Now, some trip-related news:
Our countdown is in the 50's!

Today is 59 days, and I've been taking down the Mickey heads off my door each day. And the ticker in my signature is saying now that we have ONE month, so many weeks, and so many days! (I can't remember it all, the most important thing to me is the "one month" part.) The night of the TSO show was actually our two month mark, so being a true Disney dork, I was sitting there, enjoying the show, and having the occasional, "at this time in two months, I'll be in Disney World!" thought cross my mind. I can't believe that we're in the 50's now; I remember when we were in the 80's or 90's.
So, the time is flying by, Christmas is less than two weeks away,

Have a good night
