or how to admire a woman who has multiple medical problems and yet still makes you , the guest, feel so comfortable!
Roger and I spent most of the afternoon with Peggi - she does look wonderful - really! Got a sneak peek at her crew cut, but she does keep her cap on because she said there are lots of kids in the halls visiting relatives. It has turned grey, and she asked her doctor why - he said the chemo can have that effect. Hey. who knows, instead of blondish brown, perhaps she'll come out a red head, and curley at that!!!
She has now got an infectious disease doctor on board because of this new infection which is inhibiting her recouperation along with the chemo which they are stopping for the next treatment. I must say that we were amazed at her positive spirit - she talked about the cancer but always had a great outlook on the future. Thats' not to say that she doesn't have down times, she sure does, but she is looking forward to a Disney cruise when the treatments are over. Ritchie is so attentive and is taking great care of her. Changing the dressing has become a bit overwhelming so she is hoping to have a visiting nurse take that job over.
She said to tell everyone hello - mentioned all the wonderful prayers, gifts, cards and well wishes that people have sent along.
Hoping to get back to see her in a few weeks. Caroline
After the great comments about grey hair- tonight she said that the grey is barely noticeable- that's because there is so little hair now left!! The thrush in her mouth is keeping her from enjoying much of any food, even her favorites are painful to keep in her mouth and they all burn. But leave it to Peggi to keep joking about it...
