Amy's New Start : Comments Welcome!

Thank you Amy and Lisa. Lisa: We get to WDW on June 12th, and are heading to MK that evening. That is too funny you will be there too! Where are you staying (we'll be at Music for the first week).

Tracy: Thank you Wish Sis for pointing out the positives. When you put it like that, I can almost feel good about yesterday.;)

This morning, its cold, foggy and we are supposed to have rain later today then heavy snow tomorrow and Saturday. I think my Friday night bbq with friends is now Chili Night! I am making dinner so I plan to do a veggie tray for that and then lean chili followed by a low fat dessert. I am determined this weekend will not be a food fest. We'll see (I have after all said that for the last umpteen thousand weekends).

Got on the scale today and still no change that I can see, maybe even up a pound from my last offical Weight Watcher weigh in. Its been a couple of weeks and now I can't remember exactly. My scale is different from theirs so its hard to keep track of what is what. Tomorrow I'll find out for sure, can't wait.:sad2:

My friend mentioned on Monday she is coming to the same meeting I am. I reminded her this is not the meeting time that works for her and then said flat out, its freaking me out to do this with her and causing me a lot of pressure. So we'll see. If she shows up, its not the end of the world. At this point, I don't think it matters if she comes, doesn't come or Jesus and his 12 disciples come to cheer me on, that scale isn't moving the way I want it to. I think its a combo of hormones, bad weekends and just a plateau that if I let will drive me insane and to the nearest Krispy Kreme.

I am skipping the gym this morning. I need to get started on scraping off the wallpaper border in the kitchen and packing up the kitchen for painting. We have friends coming over tomorrow night so I want it done by then and also need to shop for that, get caught up on laundry, and finish some stuff in the yard before the snow hits. If I get all that done, I may go later. First thing Saturday morning a good friend is coming to help us paint and hopefully by Sunday night the kitchen, downstairs bath, family room and hallway will be done and put back together. I have finally managed to talk Dan into this (he hates to paint with a passion) so I want to make it painless and get a lot of leg work and prep done first. So that when I tell him in the next couple of months its time to do the living room, he can look back on this weekend's experience with delight and be all ready to paint some more!

I'll post my food:

Breakfast: Siim Fast: 3
Yogurt: diet bread w/ 1Tb Peanut Butter: 3
Lunch: Salad with turkey, lf cheese and lf dressing: 8
Snack: Bowl of Kashi: 4
Dinner: BAked chicken with broccolli, sweet potato and salad: 8
Snack: Yogurt: 2

That's a lot of food. But still one point under. I am also printing this little menu for the day out and sticking to it!

I hope everybody is having a wonderful day. If its spring in your neck of the woods, don't tell me about it as I prepare for more snow!

Hey, your good friend better not be the same as MY good friend that is coming to help me this weekend! ;)

Good for you telling your friend that it freaks you out when she goes to WI with you. Hopefully she will understand and respect your wishes. What was her reaction when you told her?

You are doing pretty good choosing foods that have a lot of bang for their buck! That means you can still eat a lot but not go over in points, good job! :thumbsup2

Amy, when our friend said he'd help I had to smile thinking that we are both doing the same sort of thing this weekend (with a friend ;)). Dan helped them move last year so he owes us! And I am feeding him pizza and beer.

My friend didn't say much. I am not sure she even heard me. She's wanting that we support each other but of course me with all my issues regading weight has issues regarding people supporting me to lose weight. :sad2:

Ladies, moral of the story? Do NOT put any sort of wallpaper, including border in your home. You'll regret it.

HI Amy
good luck with wi today, you have made excellent food choices in bad situations & worked out consistently - you deserve a loss, or at least no gain :)

have a great weekend - rain, wind & cloudy here - so no sign od spring for us either :(

Sending some :wizard::wizard:for weigh-in today. You've been doing a great job with food and exercise....Keep up the good work!:cheer2:

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Thankfully the rental only has a Disney princess border in one of the bedrooms, the rest of the house is wallpaper/border-free. I have stripped that before in the very first house (built in the '50's) and it was HORRIBLE! Especially because there were 3 layers. Just think of how awesome it will look when you are done! :thumbsup2

Hope WI went well and your friend gave you the space you need and deserve. :wizard:

Didn't make it to WW today. We are having a huge blizzard. Much of the metro area mostly got rain early on before switching to snow, lucky me, my neighborhood is about 600 feet higher than Denver so we got snow all day and a ton of it. Like 12 inches with another 10-20 on the way. I am so sick of this! It was too funny, it was lightening and thundering like a summer thunderstorm but snowing at the same time. Only in Colorado. So yet another Friday messed up with weather. I just didn't want to venture out on icy, snowy roads and maybe get there to a closed meeting center. I wish they'd find a way to put something on their website to let you know if the center is closed when it snows like this. I weighed at home and it looks like maybe I am down a pound or two. Its so hard to know for sure, my scale is wacky and not that dependable. I guess I'll have to wait a week to know for sure.

I didn't work out today, but I am planning to go to the rec center tomorrow if its open. If not, I can maybe do the treadmill and that Jillian DVD I have still not tried.

We have friends coming tonight, I made a lean dinner, thankfully they live in the same general neighborhood we do. Well my power is blinking, so I am going to hit submit before I lose this whole post!

:sunny::sunny::sunny::sunny:

Here is a little bit of sunshine for you. Maybe it will help melt the snow.

 Amy,

The snow out your way is all over the news here. I think I heard that I-70 was closed...Is that in your neck of the woods?

Please stay warm and stay safe out in this weather!

Wow, I can't believe you are getting snow! It is going to be 85 here today and 92 tomorrow...

I don't blame you for not going to WW, no sense in risking the weather. And you are right, it was probably closed anyway.

When I was going to college in Prescott (in AZ, elevation 5300ft) we had one snow storm where it was thundering and lightning. It was about the coolest snow storm I'd ever been in. :thumbsup2

Amy
How are you? I'm thinking you are either having a fabulous weekend or have lost power. Weren't you painting and stuff this weekend?

Hi Amy,

How are you doing WISH sis? Has the weather settled down out your way? How did the painting turn out?

I hope you have a great day today!

hope your keeping warm & safe Amy!!
thats a lot of snow!!!

Oh Ladies, I am sorry I have been MIA. Yes we got a TON of snow, about 18-20" I think, it was hard to tell given the rain and the fact it was warm enough to begin melting almost immediately! Saturday was awful so we picked a good day to stay indoors and paint. Got the kitchen and family room done by Sunday night and have been cleaning up the mess and putting stuff back together yesterday and today.

I did so with food on Saturday but well on Sunday and did well yesterday and today. I took Thursday-Sunday off with working out, I really felt like I was getting a good work out in some ways with all the stuff I was doing. I also couldn't get to the gym because of the weather. But I was right back in there yesterday and today so that was good.

Now the sun is out, the weather is warm, almost all of the snow is melted and you'd never know it had happened. Hopefully we are done til fall!

Amy: Yes, thundersnow is very cool and happens at higher altitudes. I bet you don't see that much in Phoenix!

Tracy: I am not far from I-70, I think it was the stretch up in the mountains that was closed. And most of I-25 between New Mexico and Wyoming was closed. So not a good day to travel around here!

Lisa: I got a lot done but I wouldn't call if fabulous! We had lights blinking but never did lose power thank goodness. Some people still don't have theirs back on poor things.

Tracey: It was a lot of snow. But my yard is now very green.:)

I need to get to journals later, ds of course needs the computer. Gotta get that kid his own laptop!

Sounds like you did have a good weekend. You really accomplished a lot. congrats on getting back to the gym. Can we see pics of the new rooms?

Lisa, maybe I'll have dh show me how to post pictures! Ashamed to say, I don't know how to.

As for my painting, I love my family room, dh put some shelves up for me, that gives me room to display some things I didn't have room for. When my mom died, I got a lot of her things and now I have a place to put them at last.

I came home to a bunch of chewed up, spit out pot pourri. I guess Daisy got curious as to what this new bowl in the living room had in it and sampled some. I really got after her (even swatted her naughty little bum) and she was heartbroken! Since she is spoiled rotten and generally well behaved, she's not used to Mom getting upset with her!

Today I worked out really hard. It was tough, woke up with the beginnings of a migraine but I was determined to go to the gym. It helped but now I am home and just feeling yucky from Excedrin and lack of sleep. I have been getting those so much less lately so I can't complain. They used to be a weekly occurance. I am betting its the exercise and eating better.

I am going to post food today. I stopped after the gym to get a regular coke (always helps for some reason) and tonight we have dinner at Old Chicago as part of a fundraiser. I need to do well, weigh in is looming!

Breakfast: Slim Fast (3)
Lunch: Grilled chicken sandwich no mayo, medium coke: 11
Dinner: Side Caeser Salad w/ dressing: 14
Snack: Strawberries: 1
Total: 29

Old Chicago's menu stinks quite frankly. That looks like the best I can do and if I stick to just berries for a snack, I'm fine. Resisting pizza may be hard, but I've just have to do it.

Worked out: 50 minute walk, 20 minutes on the bike.

I worked my butt off on that bike. 20 minutes on a random hill setting up to a level 8. I burned 150 calories according to the thing (I had to input my weight and then it caluclated based on the hills, speed etc). Then tonight after dinner dh and I will hopefully walk while the kids are at church. When I first went to rec center, I couldn't do five minutes on that bike on a low setting with no hills going slow. So the scale may not show much progress but my stamina and endurance at least do!

Way to go on your workout, Amy!:cheer2:Keep up the good work!:cheer2:

It sounds like it was a good weekend to paint. I can't believe how much snow you guys had! :cold:

How did dinner go last night?

I hope you have a wonderful day ahead!

Thanks Lisa and Tracy.

Lisa: I am so trying to just see things from all the angles and not just the scale. But its hard!

Tracy: I did well at dinner, I had my salad and 1/4 of a piece of pizza. So I was pretty happy, even with that very small piece of pizza. I was still so hungry and feeling deprived and I decided to go ahead and sample some. I had activity points. It was good and just enough to satisfy my pizza craving! The side salad was huge and plenty and worth the 14 points.

I did aquasize today, I worked super hard and was feeling so good. But then I start thinking about weigh in tomorrow and get anxious and worried that I'll just be the same or up yet again. This level of a plauteau has never happened to me before. Three years ago, I started WW exactly the same time (early January) and by this point in April was down 20 pounds. No idea what is going on. And what's weird is that when I was doing this three years ago, I seldom worked out more than 20-30 minutes 2-3 times a week (walking only, no strength training and no intense cardio like I do now). I also blew it every weekend way more than I do now. Oh well, the more I try to figure this out, the more stressed I get. One of these days, I'm gonna step on that scale and see a huge loss out of nowhere. I can hope!

I was just struggling today in general with feeling like crap about my efforts, my results etc. The fact my friend weighed on the scale at the gym and is down another four pounds didn't help. As I know her more I see how competitve she is and what a go getter she is. I am neither and I just feel blah about the whole process. I don't want to share my results on the scale with her or anybody else except my WISH journal because frankly its embarrassing and stressful. Maybe the scale will be good news tomorrow, I hope so!

Food was good today, I came in right on points and am trying to decide if I want to have a date night with dh tomorrow night or stay home and eat very healthy! Both kids have stuff going on and a night out would be so nice so maybe I'll just do that. I know Dan is always up for an evening out with dinner and a few drinks!
