Amy's Journal: Comments Welcome!

Hi Amy,

My WW leader always puts up a quote. Today was"What does it take to become a butterfly? It takes letting go of the caterpillar." Your last post reminded me of that statement. You were a beautiful bride. You are a beautiful woman now. Who knows what the future hold?

Take care ,
Beth

Thank you so much everyone. I think women in general excel at being hard on themselves! I am so sorry I have been MIA. I had such a busy weekend. Ds turned 13 on Sunday and between that, attending another get together, getting ready for WDW and watching the Rockies (who are on their way to the World Series as we speak :cool1: ) it just flew by. Food was so so, two parties and a few meals out between Friday and Sunday didn't make it easy. But I did manage to go to Curves Saturday morning and drink my water each day. I was back at Curves today and I must say I really love that workout. Not sure how much good its doing but at least its getting me back in the routine of working out.

Ds and dh went to the Rockies game tonight so I had some time to get some things done at least.

Food today was much better, I need to get back to journaling what I eat each day. Right now I am too tired to remember!

I am off to catch up with all of you! GO ROCKIES!!!!!!!

Beth, I do need to shed the catepillar. Sometimes I think even if I lose all the weight, if I don't lose the lousy self image it won't help my self esteem in the long run.

Tracy: Now I am down to less 10 days! Tomorrow I hit single digits! Let me know of a special spot you love in Epcot, that way I can think of my Wish sis in her favorite place!

Stacie: I am right with you, losing weight has unfortunately been my life's obsession for too long! Lets get it done and move onto something else okay??

Amy: How was Mexico? My husband always says the same thing, be nicer to myself! Daisy managed to nab a half gallon of vanilla ice cream off the table last night during ds family bday party. Don't ask! And her brother Sam was over so two beagles can definitely manage to double the fun and chaos!

Amy --
I must say, after reading your journal, I am so impressed! :)

The fact that you have lost over 20lbs is amazing..

Sounds like you had a busy weekend, with your ds's bday. I can relate with you stalking the delivery man for the tix, as that's exactly how i was with my dd's Hannah Montana Tix!! Seeing what they are going for on ebay and such, is crazy! (I was lucky enough to get them at face value during presale -- and great seats to boot!)

You must be getting so excited about your upcoming trip! We go in 4 1/2 weeks, so i can totally feel your excitement! Right now, i just want warmer weather.. I am such a wimp when the temps start to drop here.. LOL

Have a good day!

Hi Amy,

Congratulations to the Rockies! :cheer2: They are doing a great job this year. Maybe they'll have a chance to play our Indians in the World Series. :goodvibes

I will single digit dance with ya, WISH sis! My favorite place in Epcot? I have several: Spaceship Earth, Test Track, American Adventure, Rose n Crown pub, Club Cool, anywhere I can see Illuminations, e.t.c., e.t.c, e.t.c.:cloud9:

Hope you have a great day today!:goodvibes

Hey woman,

I know that you are crazy busy trying to get everything together for this trip. I just wanted to let you know that I am thinking about you. I am excited for you to go on this vacation. You can use the time away to relax and recoup.

Take care,
Beth

Hi Amy
sorry i havnt been a good wish buddy & been there for you when you were down
But i'm glad your feeling better now :goodvibes
I've never met you or seen a photo of you, but i can tell you are a beautiful person inside & out! keep telling yourself that until you realise its true!
If people have put you down in the past you start to believe them...people who put other people down are usually even more insecure than you & unhappy with their life & jealous
congrats on loss :dance3:
Hope DS had a fab birthday :)

Caitsmama: Thanks so much for visiting my journal! I see you have a trip to DCA/DL in February, we are there just before you. Thank you for being impressed with me, gotta love that, it made my day!:)

Tracy, I hope we do play the Indians, that way if we lose I can be happy for you which will make it a bit less tragic ;) ! Spaceship Earth is my fave, of course its down for our trip wouldn't you know it? I'll go to the pub and have a beer and think of you Wish Sis!

Beth, I am not busy for the trip, I haven't done one blessed thing! I need to get on the stick big time. I am so ready to relax, we are thinking we will spend less time in the parks (we'll see) and more time at Old Key West just hanging out. I cannot wait!

I've never met you or seen a photo of you, but i can tell you are a beautiful person inside & out! keep telling yourself that until you realise its true!

Tracey: I have a teenager now too, I guess we are members of the same club! I need to post a picture of myself, I never have, maybe its about time! I know what you look like which is nice since I can actually visualize you when I visit your journal!

Tuesday:

I was dead tired this morning, I stayed up until dh and ds got home from the game which was at 1:30 a.m. Then I had to get into school to judge a speech contest all morning. Came home and felt sick I was so beat. I have been staying up way too late, between the Rockies and cruising around the disboards (pre trip excitement) I have not been getting nearly enough sleep. So I cleaned up the house and then sat on my butt for an hour watching Law and Order. Now my little daycare guy just left and I just made lasagne for dinner and am doing homework. I don't see getting on the treadmill at this point. No good excuse, I guarantee my day isn't as hectic as Beth's and I"ll bet she'll work out anyway! Maybe dh and I can take a short walk later. Judging the speech contest was fun, but I am too much of a softy, I hate only getting to pick one winner per grade! They were all way too darn cute. My own daughter chose not to particpate, she's way too shy. Good thing, that would have been stressful for me having to judge my own kid!

Food today;
Breakfast: Kashi Bar
Lunch: Healthy choice meal, small veggie soup, 2 oz. of parmesan cheese
Snack: Cheerios chex mix. I didn't like the sample I had at Sams so bought it thinking it was a safe thing to have around. Apparently not, since I seemed to have devloped a taste for it! Didn't have much, but its pure carbs so not a good thing to eat.:sad2:
Dinner: Lasagne and salad.
Water: 80 oz.
Exercise: We'll see (here's hoping).

Thanks for reading everyone, you all really give me the support I need. I feel good right now, I am planning on weighing next week on Wednesday. Really hope I can be down another couple of pounds. Right now I am at 24, so hopefully I can be at 25 minimum before my trip. I cancelled all but a few ADR's, don't want to spend the money and calories. I can just snack around the World Showcase since its Food and Wine Festival. Also, we just didn't want that much structure.

Tracy, I hope we do play the Indians, that way if we lose I can be happy for you which will make it a bit less tragic ;) !

Great minds think alike, Amy!:thumbsup2 I was thinking this same thing this morning when I found out the Indians won last night. (I can't watch the games...I get too riled up!:scared1: ) I would love to see a Rockies/ Indians series!:cheer2:

You're in single digits now!:woohoo: :yay: Woohoo! I say pack for Disney and when you get there, decide if you want a relaxing trip, a theme park extravaganza, or a combination of both. During our trip in September, we only spent two days in the parks....It was great! We got to check out some of the other resorts and we went to the Boardwalk and DTD. Not only did we get to relax a lot, but we still have 8 days left on our passes for future trips.:woohoo:

Hope you have a great Wednesday!

Hey Amy! Sounds like things are going well (other than being busy and tired! lol) I am so jealous! I can't wait to go to WDW!!! My sister is there right now and you're leaving soon! ugh! ;) I know you guys will have a great time! The last few times we've been, we've stayed at OKW. It's has a very laid-back relaxing atmosphere. My BIL rented one of the pontoon boats last time. That was soooo nice. We rode down by Port Orleans, on to Downtown Disney, cruised around. It was very nice! I hope you guys have great time and get to relax some too!!! Keep up the good work, I know you'll get the lb off before you go!!! :thumbsup2

Have a great day!
Stacie

Hi Amy! That's great that you are leaving soon for "the world"! I am counting down myself! LOL
Sounds like you had a busy day.. remember to listen to your body and if it's telling you no workout today - listen to it! ;)

Have a great day!

Sorry to say I will NOT congratulate you on the Rockies, since they destroyed the Diamondbacks... :rolleyes1 I think my DS11's Little League team could have played better! :lmao:

You must be so excited for your trip!! I am still not excited for mine since the kids don't even know about it!! Maybe when it gets closer I will get more excited. We don't have a single plan on where to eat, we are just going to wing it. I like it that way!

How did WI go? Hopefully everything is well!!

No good excuse, I guarantee my day isn't as hectic as Beth's and I"ll bet she'll work out anyway!

HA, shows what you know. I napped all day yesterday. No exercise for me.:snooty: :lmao:

Hey woman,

Sorry I had to be a bit witchy. Just getting in the halloween spirit.pirate: :charac4: :stir: :clown: :clown: princess:

I am glad to hear that you are feeling good. Good luck getting everything together for your trip.

Take care,
Beth

Ahh Beth, you have redeemed me! And here I thought you were probably doing one of your killer workouts and you were *gasp* napping!!:lmao: Good for you, your body obviously needed it!

Ladies, I am so sorry, I haven't journaled, haven't caught up with you, I am Lousy Wisher of the Week. I have been so busy. I have volunteered a bunch at school this week which is great. Each parent has to get in a minimum of 20 hours per year and it also gets me knowing the parents and kids which comes in handy for when I sub. I am off to be with my mom today.

I did weigh this morning, wasn't going to but curiousity got me and I was down one more pound. So five pounds since the end of August. Won't win any world records but I am pretty happy.

I had Alzheimers support last night. I had a half a cookie, 13 peanut m & m's and about 1/4 cup dry roasted peanuts. I could have just sat there and gorged all night. I finally just moved away from the food. I brought home some leftover cookies and gave the kids each one for a snack and threw the other two out. Nobody needs them, pure refined carbs and fat.

I have lunch out with my mom today. She wants pie, so I'll be having pumpkin (lowest point pie around) and hot tea. I am heating up a bowl of zero point veggie soup as we speak. Then tonight we are going to friends. I am taking two light beers for myself and not one other thing to drink. These get togethers are loads of fun but kill my diet each weekend.

And last but not least I have cancelled all but one ADR for WDW. I opted to spend the $$ on the water park add on to our AP's instead. Since we have a one bedroom I am actually planning that we will eat breakfast and either lunch or dinner in each day. Only one cs meal out per day. That should save tons of money and calories. I am planning on buying some lean cuisines and salad bags as well as cereal and milk. We'll see how this goes. I have always swore the kitchens at my DVC digs would not be used except to chill wine and beer. However, I am doing so much better, I just don't want to lose all my momentum and I also don't want to spend $1000 or more on food for a week. I am anxiously awaiting my own outcome!

I PROMISE to get caught up with you all this afternoon between Curves and Volleyball. I do apologize for being so busy I have neglected my good friends who stand by me!

Hi Amy
congrats on yey another loss :)
sounds like a good plan for eating at WDW - proberbly not one i could stick too!!!!
eating in disney is one of the highlights of my holls ;)
have a great weekend :)

Hi Amy,

Congratulations on the loss. That is awesome. I give you credit for planning on cooking while at WDW. You will have a ton of fun at the water parks though. Think about getting a couple of those freeze dried soups. Throw in some water and heat for 30 minutes. They are high in sodium, but most are reasonable points wise. Just a thought.

Don't worry about journals. We'll still be here. We understand that you have a lot going on.

Take care,
Beth

Hi Amy,

I bet you are getting super excited for your trip!

Congratulations on the weight loss, WISH sis!

I'm still waiting on my Indians to beat the Sox so we can meet the Rockies in the WS...... If the Indians lose, I am definitely rooting for the Rockies!:cheer2:

Have a wonderful, relaxing, and fun trip to WDW!

Thans so much Tracey, Tracy and Beth. You all give me strenth!

Whew, I just now caught up with all of your journals, sorry I have been so MIA lately. I just cannot seem to get caught up.

Friday: Didn't make it Curves, ate too much out with mom, ended up splitting a burger with her and having pie to boot. Not good:sad2: . Then that night we went to friend's for a late dinner. I had two small pieces of chicken, a few bites of potato, a few green beans, one oreo, 10 chips with salsa and 1.5beers.

Saturday: Got on the scale and was still down five pounds. Had Taco Bell for lunch, (no breakfast, slept in) and chicken and some soup for dinner. Ran mega errands with dh, took ds to a cooking class (he wants to be a chef), took dd for a haircut to correct the total hack job she got last time (at the dumb expensive salon I might add:mad: ), then sent dh and the kids to church without me to get some stuff done. Didn't work out all day but drank a ton of water.

Sunday: This will be long and boring, feel free to skip: Got on the scale (I am back to overweighing my overweighted body as you see) and was up two pounds. Gee, I wonder why? We had to go to church with my parents this morning. Stepdad (who is almost 83) was preaching at their church since their normal minister is on vacation. I am a bad daughter, I didn't want to go. Why? Well let's see, I have about a million things to do, it was a blizzard (yep, and it was 76 degrees yesterday, love the weather in Colorado) and frankly thier church is all the way across town and full of nothing but the over 65 crowd. It doesn't inspire me. I also get nervous because I think stepdad has lost his touch a bit with age, last time he kept forgetting things and it was nerve wracking. Luckily everyone that goes there is ancient so they have no idea, he could be up there speaking Chinese and they would probably not notice! He did very well, but the ride over was no fun in that blizzard. Had my mom with me so she woudn't have to go to both services and listened to her prattle on about the election. The one that is in one year. The one she cannot STOP talking about. I kept thinking how sad, I will be killed in this awful weather on this miserable highway listening to my mother blither about politics. We made it safe and sound. God love dh, he puts up with a lot of aggravation from my family! Two minutes before stepdad gets up to preach, the storm knocks out the power. So now I am seated in a sanctuary with maybe 25 senior citizens who managed to brave the weather, in the dark and its freezing since the furnace went out too. Luckily, 60 years in the pulpit has taught stepdad to not be phased, he preached from memory (not bad) and did a very good job, literally in the dark. Then they took us to the famous White Fence Farm nearby where they serve nothing but fried food. Fried chicken, shrimp, fritters, and fish. They did have turkey breast so I got that. Their salad is all iceberg lettuce so I skipped that and had a baked potato with a small bit of butter. I did split a piece of pumpkin pie with dh. I didn't eat but four of the fritters (they are small). My tiny little mother who woke up barfing (she told me about that in between political commentary) ate literally about 20. She's probably home hacking up fritters. Told her as we parted ways I would see her in about two weeks and she was in tears. So I told her I would come over on Tuesday and visit and get her house cleaned. I have this busy week, I haven't packed, cleaned (which I need to do desparately since housesitter will be here). I have no idea how in the Sam Hill I am going to get ready for this trip. If they call me to sub, I'll have to turn them down. And I have to be at school on Monday and Tuesday mornings to work with all the speech meet kids. That is one of those "one hour, two max" volunteer gigs that has morphed into a super nightmare! Okay, rant over.

I did get together a list of groceries for WDW (Beth thanks for the soup tip, its on the list!). I plan to cook a total of four easy meals. We'll want to stay in once or twice to watch the Rockies in the World Series anyway so that should work out nicely. I am thinking of pre grilled chicken strips with salad and soup. I am also going to have my oatmeal in the mornings. So I should still be eating out a bunch, just not each meal. And not any sitdowns except Sci Fi where I have made dh promise to share a burger with me. I just love those movie flicks, cannot skip that one!

I really hope to make it journals consistently before I leave, if I don't, please forgive me in advance!

Oh, and I am putting on my sweats and working out on the treadmill tonight. I also plan to Curves on Monday and Wednesday. I'll have to go to school in my workout clothes since I have no time to come home and change but hey, I am free labor what can they say?

Thanks for reading such a long post!

Amy, OMG, you just totally crack me up.. and being sick,i needed that laugh!!! The whole story about your stepdad and mom.
I can't get over that you had a blizzard!!! I am soooo not ready for that kinda weather yet!! Each year i hate it more and more...... would love to convince dh to move near the mouse someday. LOL

yey - somebody has worse weather than me ;)
Too funny about your stepdad & mom - families eh, dont ya just love em :)

how many days till WDW?
hope you get those planned workouts in :)

Families are fun aren't they? ;) :rotfl:

Did you see that my Indians lost? :( We should be used to this in Cleveland (and in Ohio) by now, but it still bugs me. I'll be rooting for your Rockies for sure!:cheer2:

You'll have to let me know how your dinner at Sci Fi goes. :goodvibes We just changed our ADRs and added this as our sit down meal at MGM. I think the kids will get a real kick out of it!:cool1:

Have a wonderful vacation WISH sis! Don't forget to have that drink for me in Epcot!;)
