I work for my father and he let me have time off in February(a far busier month) so I could visit the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, so I can't complain about not being able to visit in October. I might be able to go down for just a Saturday, but with the parties not being held on Saturdays I'm not sure it's worth the effort for one day.

Are you very far away from the parks? If so, then you're right, it might not be worth it. Although we went last October and didn't do the party and still had a wonderful time. The area around Big Thunder Ranch is especially decorative. The pumpkin carvings are so creative.
Perhaps one of these days it will work out for you.

I found another Disney song I love much to my children's dismay. Just because I've played it over and over, I don't know why they are annoyed with me.

Actually, it's kind of catchy and I think it's growing on them. It's titled "Just Like We Dreamed It" and it's from Disney's Once Upon a Dream Parade in Disneyland Paris. They use it at the opening of the parade and during stops along the way.

It's just one of those cute songs that sticks with you and you find yourself humming all day long. Not sure if that's good or bad, lol, but I like it. I think it would make a fun wedding reception song. Almost makes me want to check out DL Paris. After I win the lottery that is.

The kids start school the 25th and I'm sure once that happens things will be hectic as always and time will fly by. I'm in no rush either. I want to be there, but at the same time, planning and looking forward to it is part of the fun!

Thanks. I like to bake but hate to keep the stuff in the house afterwards mainly because it's too tempting!! LOL So my husband's co-workers benefit from that by getting all sorts of goodies. Bread pudding, carrot cake, cupcakes, cookies, etc. and tonight I am going to make a pineapple upside down cake.

Hmmm, at home, in the kitchen, baking on a Saturday night. Do we know how to party here in Vegas or what??

Ahhh, but no baking tomorrow! The in-laws will be here with the kids while we hit the Strip.

We had so much fun dancing at Caesar's last time we were there. Another couple sat down with us and said we looked like a fun couple. They weren't a)swingers, or b)selling something. They actually just wanted to chat between sets. Very flattering.

We DVR them...and then start watching after they've been on an hour or two. That way we can fast forward through the stuff we don't want to watch (like the women's marathon last night. 26 miles of running = boring to watch.)

So cute! I don't recall seeing these last October when we were there, but it's entirely possible I just missed them. In any case, if they have them again this year, I guess we'll be buying some popcorn.

I am a huge SUCKER for anything in cute packaging. Have I already mentioned this? I think I did, but it's worth saying again because it's so true.

Put just about anything into "cute" themed packaging, I'll buy it.

Those cookies look so yummy. I need to bake some soon. I used to love baking when we lived in AZ. After moving to a higher elevation, I just stopped all together.

As for cute packaging, it gets really bad at Christmas time! Do NOT send me into a Target around the holidays. I swear I will come out with everything from batteries to soap in cute holiday packaging.

Baking is fun, although it was nicer to bake on a snowy winter day then it is on a day when it's 105 out. LOL
Is it much harder to bake at a higher elevation? I've seen recipes where you have to make adjustments for that but I never really paid much attention before.

So we are back from our night out on the Strip. It was fun! I took some pics, but I need to get them in my photobucket account and see how they turned out before I can post any.

My in-laws are still here. They are so funny. My MIL got two free nights at the Planet Hollywood and yet they want to stay at our house again. They prefer being here with the kids, so they want us to go back to the hotel tonight.

I haven't decided yet since Ruben works tomorrow and it would mean getting up really early. Hmmmm, I don't know. I'll leave it up to him. We walked so much last night I ended up with a really nasty blister. So if we do go back, I know what I won't be doing.....walking! Ouch!

So, you've stirred things up at my house. DH is a little tired of DL, but I've never been during Oct, and really want to go after seeing your pictures. DH has a work obligation the weekend of the 17th through the 19th, so I asked him if he would mind if I drove down with a girlfriend that weekend. He said it was OK with him. Now I'm just trying to talk my friend into it. We would probably go into the park only on Saturday, maybe a hotel character breakfast Sunday. I hope it works out.

Sorry to go off topic, but I have a favor.
I am the HR person at my work and every second Friday of the month I get a birthday cake/pie/treat, some sort of sweets for all the birthdays that month and we all sing and have a good time for about 20 minutes. Anyway, there are usually about 2-4 people each month and I try to ask what people like, and to mix it up a bit. I have had a request for a homemade Pineapple Upside Down cake THREE times this year! I have no problem making a couple for the office but have no clue. And I don't trust an internet recipe because if they turn out icky, I look bad! If you have a fairly foolproof recipe, I would love to try it. I don't have a lot of baking experience, but judging by the look of those cookies, I trust you my friend. And I will take pix and let you know how everyone in the office likes it. Thanks.
