Amtrak's website, http://www.amtrak.com/savings/mcoffer.html, has a current 35% discount offer if you pay with a Mastercard. Unlike some Amtrak promotions, this special does not specifically exclude Auto-Train or sleeper accomodations. You must book online (by October 31) for the full discount, for travel through 2-28-03. This promotion started October 15th.
Also, Auto-Train continues to show up regularly on the Rail Sale page, currently valid for travel October 28 through November 21st. The fare is $37.40 one-way north or southbound (plus the cost of your automobile, of course).
