Amex White Glove

We're off to OKW shortly, and I've just read a post about the White Glove program... Are DVC Member eligible for the White Glove perqs when they stay on points, and use an AmEx card to secure incidental room charges??

And if so, just what are those perqs? I've read about the 10% shopping discount - are they other things (e.g. fanny pack, etc)? Is it for each member of the party, or just one?

We got a pack containing 2 lanyards and 2 pins when checking in using AMEX to secure incidentals only.

At the World of Disney, we were told that we get 10% off a minimum of $35 or 15% off a minimum of $50 when charging on our AMEX and showing our resort card.

Don't about other perks - didn't use them.

I think that they split up on 12/31/2002.

If you are enrolled in the AMEX rewards program, you get double points if you charge at Downtown Disney (not sure if it's all the shops) until 12/31/2002. I think that AMEX is trying to "milk" as much exposure from the association/partnership before they have to go bye-bye.

We checked into OKW on September 1st and all the lanyards and pins were gone and they were not getting any more due to the split up. In regards to Amex discounts at Downtown Disney, they decreased it to 10% in 2002 with a minimum purchase of $25 AND only if you were staying at a WDW resort paid for with an Amex card:

AMEX: 10% off merchandise on purchases of $25 or more, when staying at a Disney Resort under the White Glove Treatment qualification (see above). Must present a valid Resort Identification Card at time of purchase. Certain items excluded.

The 15% off was the old program which went away Jan of this year I believe. I think it's now just the 10% over $25 or $35. It's valid for DVC stays now thought this has been off and on in the past. You must be staying for a minimum of 2 days and usually have to ask for your goodies.

Somehow, 15% discount was provide for our purchase at DTD during May/June this year. It was unwritten. When I made my purchase over $50, I was told that I would receive 15% discount with Amex card.

hi! I was at Disney Sept 14-20th and we also recieved 15% when we spent over 50$ at DD. It was nice! Under 50$ is only 10%.

It sounds like they're combining the old and new program. I'm glad to hear it as that's different than what was written and included on the Website and in the VM. A better discount is usually a good thing.

Checked into BWV on 9/14/02 & BCV on 9/22/02. Had (plenty of?) AMEX lanyard/pin sets at both resorts.

Yep, got the 15% off after purchasing over $50 at DTD. Was told that the discount was 10% under $50 but over $35.
