Ummm, isn't that kinda jumping the gun a little bit? The election is still a week away and as far as I know no one has been declared a winner. Are the Obama's officially our first family and I missed the memo?

I don't find it any more arrogant than McCain being introduced as the next president of the US or Palin being introduced as the next Vice President.

It is the way they all talk about themselves. Yeah a little humilty would be a good thing, but neither side shows it.

I agree. It's odd. I don't refer to Obama as the next President, but I know since the primaries every candidate has been introduced that way to supporters at rallies and so forth (except Palin; she's only run for VP).

I would doubt this is an official issue of the Obama campaign. Probably someone made them up -- like all the ones you see for sale at rallies, etc.

I think it is official because we are only supposed to have official stuff in our sigs and I have seen it here on the CB.

I think it has its pros and cons for the Obama family.

All I see is some Photoshop work. With no source or context for that button, how can any reasonable person reach a conclusion? Give me 15 minutes and an image of a McCain campaign button and I can give you the exact same thing but with McCain. Would that speak to McCain's arrogance? Hardly.

A little skepticism is a good thing. Please take a moment to question the sources of items like this you see online and question the motivation of the person posting it. I get bombarded with emails from family members of completely discredited lies that seem to still get blindly forwarded along. If we as a nation become so gullible, we'll fall for anything. Unfortunately, critical thinking and reason have been in short supply this election cycle, which has really vulgarized the political process in this country.

So, unless someone can provide some evidence that this button was produced and is officially sanctioned by the Obama campaign, this is nothing more than a baseless accusation, which I find particularly offensive. This nation is facing some serious issues, people are hurting and it would be nice to be able to choose our next leaders based on their plans to solve problems, their ability to lead our country and their demonstrated willingness and ability to make good decisions. Instead, we spend our time shouting at each other about stupid little things like this probably faked campaign button. So, at this point, by posting this, or actually believing it, I see this as actually contributing to the problem by taking away attention from the real issues such as the credit crunch, health care costs, the war in Afghanistan and Iraq, tensions in the Caucuses, North Korea, trade deficit, education, infrastructure, etc...

Instead, we talk about things like this. And these little distractions do more harm than simply taking our eye off of the real issues. It is posts like this (and there are millions of message board posts, emails, etc... that follow this example) that only serve to divide us. This is nothing more than an incendiary post meant to galvanize the anti-Obama crowd and antagonize Obama supporters. Anyone who truly cares for this country should be offended because this is not democracy, this is just shouting and name-calling.

I thought that Bradjolina (and kids) was our first family? Haha.

It is on Obama's website. Source above. Thank you and have a nice day. :)

OK seriously relax a little. No way am I basing my vote on any of this petty stuff. I just found it a little odd to have "America's First Family" on anything prior to the election. I'm sorry if my questioning it offends you. Have a hot cup of tea and relax a little.
