Americans and Canadians culture Q&A Thread.

Do you experience fall colours there? I know when people think of them, they envision blazing red/orange oak and maple leaves, but here on the prairies, we mostly don't have those kind of trees, or the dramatically beautiful displays of Eastern Canada and New England. Our fall palette is gold and brown.
The Hudson Valley’s foliage is absolutely gorgeous right now.

We were just up near Sudbury( 5 hours north from my place) on the weekend they have a lot of pine trees so only a bit of yellow and red there.

Funny enough, I was just discussing this with a colleague from the US NE. Not really. We have the fight trees (in some places) but the colour isn’t as dramatic and over pretty quickly.

So we are right back where we started this morning, with you making claims that can only be backed up with hypothetical data. Mentioning articles that show that MLS is on the rise (but nowhere near the level of other sports like the NFL, etc.) is not the same as backing up a claim that most millennials are aware of MLS because of their age.

Bless you for trying.

I gave it my all, but it wasn't enough. Not even with @SirDuff to help me explain. (And dang did he word it so much better than I ever could have!)
I’ll stay quiet about soccer on this thread.
Buzz, I don't know how to tell you this, but it was never really about the soccer. Soccer was merely a symptom. That aside, you have done a good thing, organizing this group, and I'm sure we can find many more topics to talk about that don't have to do with ⚽. You have brought us to 171 pages and counting. That is no small feat. I know it isn't easy to come up with topic starters to keep things going and I truly appreciate the effort you put in. I have learned some really cool things in this thread and wouldn't want to see it go away. :thanks:

I thought this would be a good spot to share this! This is just north west of Toronto, a flight out of north Brampton towards Erin for those who know the area. My husband and son went for a short sight seeing flight and the leafs are just starting to fall and empty out. Still looked gorgeous from the pics they shared!5D340A6D-4B14-47A1-B633-772B105359F5.jpeg

We are right on the Lake Ontario shoreline, so our colour peak is always about a week to ten days behind the rest of the province. This picture was taken over Thanksgiving weekend, the trees that line the marina are now a mix of golds, yellows and ambers..

I agree, I wouldn’t want this thread to die either, but, we’ll see how long the self control will last
