Was it originally Canadian or is it a parody of the American song?

Canadians, do you have great folk or campfire songs? I recently came across this American one.
Both. As are Canadians.![]()

Woody Guthrie's original version was written in 1940. The Canadian lyrics were created in 1955 by The Travellers. Was it originally Canadian or is it a parody of the American song?
What about maple glazed fries?Reminds me of a previous topic about making something Canadian by adding a representation of a maple leaf somewhere.
But McDonald’s waffle fries? Please.

Maybe the logo of the Canadian subsidiary of McDonald’s?Reminds me of a previous topic about making something Canadian by adding a representation of a maple leaf somewhere.

What is that? lol. Real poutine is so much more then frozen fries swimming in something brown with white cheese...
Hand cut potatoes twice fried, hearty beef gravy and authentic “squeaky” cheese curds - preferably from Quebec. Poutine

I suppose. My bad for confusing all the ways the Canadians have often represented themselves, the comment I quoted struck me as very un-Canadian-like in that respects but in line with what you're saying it could be just a sense of obligation in how one represents themselves but is not necessarily how they truly feel.Canadians are not kind and gentle. They're polite, which is a social norm. Like many polite cultures, being polite may be from a sense of obligation where they may not mean it.
When I was in Canada back around 2015, I was listening to some sort of comedic debate on the radio, although I'm not sure what it was exactly. Something about debates about native vs European Canadian culture I think. But one guy was of native ancestry but absolutely laid into it that part of his ancestry was Swedish.
I remember (or at least I feel like I remember) Craig from the DIS (you know the podcast and all) and Ryno trying out some poutine at Disney. I cannot remember if it was just at Disney Springs or more during Food and Wine Festival. Anyone tried the poutine at Disney? If so what was your impression of it?What is that? lol. Or American? What Canadian anywhere of any age or background can't sing along to this one?
McDonald's in the San Francisco Bay Area tried doing garlic fries a few years ago and they kind of sucked. But McDonald's fries are the best fast food fries when they're done right.
I do remember the Canadian chain Smoke's Poutinerie had its first (and eventually last) American location in Berkeley, California a block away from the UC Berkeley campus. That was actually quite good, although there were tons of jokes about them being a late night spot for people with the marijuana munchies since they closed at 4 AM. This photo wasn't specifically prepped, but just something a food reviewer bought.

Agree but most of us would be lying if we said we haven't eaten our share of the bad kind. What is that? lol. Real poutine is so much more then frozen fries swimming in something brown with white cheese...

Yes, have had it twice. It’s at Disney Springs just outside of World of Disney.I remember (or at least I feel like I remember) Craig from the DIS (you know the podcast and all) and Ryno trying out some poutine at Disney. I'm curious to know how many Americans have visited Canada? I don't know a single Canadian that hasn't been Stateside, but I am also very close to the border. It (was) easy to pop over for a shopping trip on any given day.
