Any questions for today?
What day does winter start? This warm weather has been insane for the east coast. We haven't had a flake of snow last more than few hours and our yard has just been bare and brown and boring. I am one of the few people who actually like winter and I have really missed not having snow this year. Granted, I don't miss the snow blowing part, but my husband usually takes care of that for me so that I can just enjoy the winter wonderland part.Any questions for today?
This year has been unusual for the Northeast. We normally have 3 nor’easters by now. What day does winter start? This warm weather has been insane for the east coast. We (USA) can have snow as early as October and as late as April. What day does winter start? This warm weather has been insane for the east coast. In Calgary? October 15th'ish. Ends around the second week of May. Was Saskatoon much different? What day does winter start? This warm weather has been insane for the east coast. I'm not sure when Saskatoon got their first snow. They are still digging out from a snowstorm they got a week or so back. They seem to have gotten their fair share. In Calgary? October 15th'ish. Ends around the second week of May. Was Saskatoon much different?![]()

@Frozen Canuck is in MA I believe. Where I am in NY, we haven’t had much snow all winter. Having two Nor’easters a season would be the norm. We were about -20 F on average last weekend. Happy the Arctic blast is done.Where on the east coast are you? We don't have a lot of snow here but it was -45 on the weekend.
Just now, we're watching the season premier of a Million Little Things on the ABC broadcast channel out of Spokane (not syndicated to a Canadian network or on streaming). It ran a commercial for "Discover South Carolina" several times. I've never seen it before.Okay here is my question for Canadians today:
Do you get as many advertisements to visit the USA as we do to visit Canada? Lately (at least where I live), I seen so many visit Canada commercials on tv it’s boggling to me. Well, I have seen a ton of visit Australia commercials too but on a much lesser scale. To be specific for the Canada commercials, I believe it’s advertising #mapleleave.

I’m curious if state tourism boards are recycling old USA tv ads in other countries to save money on advertising.
Interesting. Some states are targeted in advertising as popular tourism spots for popular states. South Carolina advertising in WA is kind of wild to me. NY and FL often advertise in each other’s state due to the snowbird relationship but that makes sense to me.This would have been advertised on an American channel though, not a Canadian channel. Every so often we get shows that aren’t overridden by a Canadian signal, so get actual American advertising. If ronandannette was watching a channel from Spokane, it was broadcast in the USA.
@Buzz Rules is correct. We are in MA. We were -23 this past Saturday which, when coupled with the gale force winds, was enough to freeze one of our hot water pipes. When I woke up this morning (5:30 am), it was 8.8 C outside...for early February, that is crazy!!! It has been like this all winter.Where on the east coast are you? We don't have a lot of snow here but it was -45 on the weekend.
Just checked my thermometer. 16.7 C IN MASSACHUSETTS IN FEBRUARY!!! (And not a chinook in sight to explain this away!!!)As far as weather, all I can say is YAY Global Warming /s
I don’t recall seeing any ads to visit the US. Maybe they figure we know they’re down there, and they know our market travels down to Grand Forks and Fargo and Minneapolis, so there’s not point in wasting money.

@prairie_girl used the /s in her post to indicate sarcasm...so yes, she still loves winter. What are you "yaying" about? I thought you loved winter?

To be fair, the /s slang kind of became more of a Gen Z thing than Gen Y. Most of my Gen Y friends think the /s thing is kind of dumb. If you are being sarcastic, just write out the word. Just my opinion.Sorry, all you cool cats (no pun intended) need to use regular words. I'm way to square to speak the lingo.
