American PAYG sim for iPhone?

I'm in the iPhone on tour club as well.

I think the cheapest way to get some data with a us provider is the AT&T Go Phone Pay as You Go packages - take one of the PAYG call plans out (I think there are 3 with different rates and call charges) and add on a data feature pack - steep at $19.99 for 100MB but enough for the bare minimum, supplemented by WiFi.

Has anyone a cheaper way to go for some data? - or experience that confirms this plan actually works with iPhone please could you post.

These sim cards are on ebay for a few pounds - with no credit! They appear to be able to be activated here before you go via AT&T website and data added before you go.
:badpc:

I am going to go with t mobile, it's $50 for a month unlimited. We intend to use it in our MIFI then we can both have access with our Iphones/Ipads. This is a cheap alternative for us as Disney charge $10 for data

Will these sims be able to go in an iPhone that's on contract though?

I'm not keen on unlocking mien as I'm only going to get it next month and it'll be a work one.

O2 unlocked my iPhone for free. Unless your contract period has finished you still have your monthly charge.
I only got it unlocked to allow me to consider a sim while in the USA. Though as this thread shows did not come up with a cheap option to have data :headache:

Oooh, while you're still in contract?

That's really awesome.

We're out there for over 3 weeks so the $50 month unlimited sounds pretty reasonable. :)

We are also out there for 3 weeks and I thought that $50 was pretty good, especially as we can both use it via the MIFI and it's unlimited. It cheaper than the $10 a day Disney charge and that's not even wifi

Also found a t mobile sim on eBay where it's $1/day unlimited data.

Seems pretty good. :)

Yes my contact fisnishes on the 2nd July and I had the iPhone unlocked at the beginning of the year. Did the request on-line at O2.co.uk :)

As of 1st July, when using data abroad, o2 will text you when you've spent £20 then £40 on data, and cap it at 50MB for pay monthly customers. When I visit in July I'll probably switch data on occasionally, but once I hit £20 I'll probably stop using it/really limit myself.
