American Idol... Who will be voted off next?

Josh sang Kool and the Gang's "Celebrate" - and was awful. Paula gave him a nice out, but if votes go by performance alone, he'd be toast.

Rickey was fun - for that alone, he should stay another week.

Kim C. was her normal, annoying, "I've got this in the bag" self - she's way too cocky. Her performance skills are better than most, but her voice is just blah.

I was actually impressed with Carmen last night - she moved up a few notches with her performance. Kimberly L. had a slow start, but I think she kicked butt after a very short time.

Trenyce did very well - I think she held onto her spot at the top of the female pack.

Clay did well, as usual - he's got a few mannerism problems he needs to work on, and he does need to polish up the performance skills, but I love the geeky dude...still reminding me of another singer.

Ruben as Barry White - what a natural. He's learned to smile while singing - I think the place would tear the roof off if he showed up in a suit!

I'm thinking Kim C., Josh and Rickey will be in the bottom 3, and I'm hoping that Kim finally gets the hook, but I'm afraid sweet guy Rickey is on the way out.

I have to agree about this season being a disaster! The themes are awful. Country rock and disco are two very difficult types. Poor Josh has now been placed in this "I am a country singer" by Simon and now appears lost in any other type music. Very unfair of Simon to make him commit to that early on. Clay I love but have to agree that the last two performances were less than stellar (still my favorite!) Reuben has a great voice but I have to agree the 205 is getting a little bit old!
Anyone have any thoughts on future themes??

Please, Please, Please! Don't let it be a repeat of the Burt Bacarach episode from last season.....

I'm incliined to think that each week they should sing the types of songs that the winner is supposed to record. If the point of the show is to pick a pop idol, then get on with it. It doesn't matter what other types of music that they can excel in.

ryanpatricksmom...I've been saying the same thing to my husband about singing music that they're supposed to record! Sure you want to show some range but I want to hear some newer music.

My bottom three: Josh, Ricky, Kim C

I still love Clay, Ruben, and Carmen. Carmen just keeps getting better each week.

This whole switching genre things reminds me of the cd that Pat Boone put out a few years back. I think it was called "In a Metal Mood". I grant you, it was truly a hoot to hear old Pat sing "Paradise City" and "Crazy Train" but it was AWFUL, and he can sing (well sort of anyway).

I thought last night went to the ladies. Maybe just because it was Disco, and they were more animated and playing the part then the guys.
I'm sad to say I wasn't impressed with either Reuben or Clay last night, and they're two of my favorites. They are both starting to sound like broken records, and both need to work on their performance rather than just standing there and singing. I didn't care much for Ricky or Josh, though I didn't think Josh was quite as horrible as most are saying, and I really hope he gets another chance. I thought all the girls did pretty well. I actually liked Carmen a lot and don't think she's horrible either, although she seems inconsistent. I agree that she's getting better (more confidence, I think), and I hope she sticks around. Trynyce and both Kimberly's did well, IMO, though I have said from the beginning that Kimberly C. has a very limited range. I don't think she'll last much longer.
As to who will be the bottom three this week, I think Josh and Ricky for sure, can't decide about the third one, probably Carmen as many people seem to hate her. I think Ricky will go.

I seem to agree with the majority on this one...poor JOSH I hope he makes it through tonight... I'm also agreeing about RUEBEN and CLAY, clearly the top 2 but need to work on performance.I hate to admit this but I like CARMEN, I think she has a unigue style to her voice. I think tonight will be either RICKY or KIMBERLY C. did anyone else here the rumor about TRENYCE being in trouble with the law too? why wasnt she disqualified.....I also think that SIMON is trying too hard to convince everyone that RUEBEN is the one...why doesnt he comment about his appearence?? I'm still hoping for CLAY to win it all.

Trenyce has some past convictions for shoplifting and completed some sort of juvenille rehab program. She was upfront about it when she auditioned and it is in her past - it wasn't a nasty surprise to the show or happening currently.

Did you hear Paula's comment to her about rising above your past or something like that last night?

I heard it. I guess with the Corey incident, Paula wanted to put a positive spin on Trenyce turning her life around.
