I usually don't ask this but please pray for Murfreesboro, we got hit with at least three tornadoes so far. One of them was an exit down from my apartment. It's really bad.

My prayers to all who have suffered loss. In case you don't have power, the local news says that Murfreesboro is all clear for now. The damage reports are scary.

it really is, I live off the exit after Medical Center so that gives you an idea how close it hit to me.

We're fine here. The storm passed over my parents without anything. My parents live a hour from Murfreesboro. I don't know about my apt though, I just know right now I can't get back into Murfreesboro and I haven't heard from some of my friends.

We're thinking about you. I hope you get ahold of your friends soon. Keep us updated!

Heard back from everyone they are all safe. The road we live off in Boro is off Highway 96 and it went right down that road. I had someone watching over me today because I hadn't planned to come home to my parents today. Now let's just hope I can get home tomorrow.

I love Jason Castro! He may not have been the best singer, but he was a GREAT performer and you could tell he was passionate about his music.

Hey guys! We're back from a WONDERFUL trip! This was by far the best one ever.

I'm so glad it was good, because I came back to some bad news at home. Well good and bad....

First the good... I don't have to have surgery after all! This was a SHOCK to me. I didn't even think not having it was an option. But, she said that the one I had back in October fixed me.

Then for the bad (actually horrible) news. My mom was diagnosed on Monday with advanced breast cancer. We didn't have any warning, so we are not dealing with this very well. It has spread to her lymph nodes. She had a PET scan and biopsy yesterday. On Monday we will find out staging and treatment options. Say a prayer for us if you can.

SO... after all that, it took me a while to catch up with AI. But, I'm pretty happy with the vote-outs over the last 3 weeks. I was bummed that my DVR cut out before Adam sang this week. I have it set to run long, but for some reason it didn't. I hope I can find it on line somewhere. I hate to miss a minute of Adam.

AND - I got to see DAVID COOK!

I LOVE the Dolly version! It's a gorgeous song with really meaningful lyrics, that's been completely overdone (and overplayed) throughout the years! I can't stand country music but absolutely love the original version. Dolly's version is about the sentiment and subtle beauty of the song itself... Whitney's version is about Whitney

That will be hard. My girls were pretty small when my Mom had her first round of breast cancer. I found that most of all they needed me to be honest. I let them know it was OK to be scared because I was scared too. I told them they could ask questions anytime they needed to and that Grandma would be a phone call away if they just wanted to talk to her. They were pretty good with it and yes, they asked a lot of questions.

Her cancer did not spread to the lymph nodes and she underwent chemo and radiation. She stayed cancer free ti just about the official "you're cured" time and then had a recurrence, got through that and now they have found "something" in her neck where her thyroid used to be that is being tested. It just never ends.

It's hard but stay strong...I know it is a cliche' and I am not a super religious person but I do believe we only get what we can handle..we just don't know we can handle it.
