I don't think they should put any of them in a position to choose a side - but if so, they should simply decline. I doubt it is in the contract that they must choose a side.

I don't think Adam will leave before it's down to 3, but it will depend on next week..not sure if he will be in the top two..but one never knows this show..that's the suspense and aggravation of it all!!!

He will be in the top two, they know what drives the ratings. Danny is the stronger of the rest (fan base wise) but I'm beginning to wonder if Kris may be a contender. They have to have someone for the teeny boppers, so he just may make it.

Not true. The first couple of years they did. I think it was Bo Bice who was the first to refuse to join a side. And, Ryan's question is different every year too. Sometimes he asked them to join the top group..."because you're safe", then points out that that is NOT the top group. This year they asked him to join the group he thought he belonged with. Yes I'm sure Adam knows who the strongest group is, but weren't they mixed up last night? Judging by both Simon's critiques and the general consensus on this board, Allison and Matt should have been in the bottom. And who knows? The producers/judges/Ryan might have TOLD them they couldn't go in the middle, just so they could get the shock factor.
At any rate, I don't think it is going to cause any problems in the house.

The fact that he picked a side was not right. He should have stayed in the middle. It may not be a big deal to some people but it made an impact on me and the group I talk with. He had a choice. That did not bother me. Typical response from a young adult. What Adam's choice said was," I belong with this group." Most people would agree he picked the strongest group. Therefore saying I belong with the better singers. The cleaning bill can be disputed at a later date. Maybe the people filming should have done or said something??? I think the whole food fight was a setup. Something to show the audience. Never liked food fights in tv or movies, I always think about the people who have to clean it up & if they don't get everything, bugs.

Danny is 29. I could expect that response from a 16 year old. I, too, think the food fight was staged. Not so sure about the cleaning bill though (although I doubt it was $6000!!!...maybe $100)

No matter what, Adam was put in a lose, lose situation. He could look like a goof like David Archuletta did last year or he could just stand where he thought he belonged, whether he thought it belonged in the top or bottom group. Either way, he'd get criticized. I'm actually surprised that they made him the victim.

He probably figured he was safe and it's obvious who the top and bottom group would be. I still think the whole thing was for drama... there's no way he was actually in the bottom two. I've been watching MTVU (the college station) for the past hour, and there's already been four special segments on Adam and his life before Idol. He's everywhere!

However, if he truly was in the Bottom 3, then choosing that group would make him look humble and modest. I guess you could say picking the Top 2 group made him look confident, but to many, it made him look arrogant and conceited.

Mathematically speaking, if Adam was in fact #3, wouldn't he have been in both groups? He would have been third lowest in the "Top 3" and first highest in the "Bottom 3."

I don't believe he got less votes than Alison (Danny maybe).

Guilty as charged!

I have stopped voting because I was so sure he was so far in the lead I didn't have to. Last year I dialed like a demon because David A was right on David Cook's heels.

I've read MANY posts on the other AI threads of people who had been splitting votes or not voting at all and got a wake up call. Also AI knows that if there is a clear winner... people will STOP watching. They need a race!

It's coming to the end and they promised their advertisers a consistent rating till the end. If not, the stations lose money.
