American Idol Top 4 Idol Chatter and Idle Chatter

I got through for Danny only 5 or 6 times over 1 1/2 hours!

I rotated the 3 phone numbers and I was using an ATT cell phone if that makes any difference.

The first thing I said to DH when Adam started to sing was, "What's with those Spock ears?" :rotfl2: Dang if he didn't keep them on for his second screech.....I mean, song. ;)

"One"....The first 30 seconds was fine. Then his inner diva came out and the screeching commenced. He just can't help himself. Half the time, I couldn't understand WHAT he was singing.

"Crying"...I've never been a huge Aerosmith fan, but this is actually my fav Aerosmith song. He butchered that baby. Every screech was like a knife slicing through the lyrics and melody. Enough to make your ears bleed.

Every single thing he does is so OVERLY dramatic. So so so overdone. When he emotes, I swear he looks as if his teeth are being drilled without benefit of anesthesia. "Oh, the pain I feel. Let me SHOW you the exquisite pain I feel with my extraordinary facial contortions. And watch while I show you the gift to the world that is my tongue!" :lmao: Uhhhh, no thanks. If I want that kind of "subtlety" in a performer, I'll just watch an old silent movie.

The love fest by the judges is ridiculous. They are so determined to have him in the final that they will not admit his performances often fall short, just in a different way than the other performers.

Well, I do try to listen to him. He does have range.
My neighbor is certain his performances follow a basic format: It's verse, chorus, screetch, bridge, screetch.... :rotfl:

:thumbsup2 :lmao:

well, I'm tired, my poor little fingers are sore..but I think my phone frenzy might pay off. Checked out dial idol and there is a shift from earlier this evening, I like what I see.

When did he say something nice about Kris and Danny. I tend to fastforward through his performances. I also think he is acting.

Danny is not preachy. Just because someone has a job at a church doesn't make them a holy roller or preacher. Has he ever once said something about his faith on the show? He is however deep in his thinking. I think he thinks too much! But seems like a nice guy. They all seem nice. Don't trust Adam because he never talks - he just acts. But how hard is it to be great when everyone is telling everyone else he is great.

During his little chat after his last song he was saying how talented they are and it was an honor or privilege to be on stage with them (paraphrasing here since I can't remember the exact words).

I took it more like, "I'm going to win this and they are the runners up so I am going to be generous" kinda like the Oscar winner giving a speech and saying how honored they were to be nominated with such a talented group of people. You just know inside they are thinking "I won and you didn't ha ha ha".

His comments affected me the same way.
This contest could really be close. I checked Dial Idol since reading your post, it's getting closer all the time.

I still haven't gotten to watch, the lakers are on here and that trumps AI.

I agree that Adam is over the top dramatic, stagey and broadway like. I hate musicals. Just the one I saw of Lion King that I picked out myself was the worst experience of my life. I will never see another broadway show as long as I live.

All that being said, I love Adam. There is just something about him the rest just don't have. He gives a riveting performance every time; He stands out. I think he is incredibly humble and hope he does win it all. Except for Allison he made all the other contestants seem very boring.

He is usually not my cup of tea and I didn't remember him much from hollywood week or when they picked the top performers. I think he has gotten better every week where Danny my early favorite has faded into the background.

Adams not my favorite but I do think he has the best stage presents of them all.

This show gets worse by the week. The only fun one to watch is Adam, just to see what he'll do. I didn't love his performances tonight but he was still far and away better than anyone else up there. I hope he and Kris make the final two, they've been my favorites from the very beginning. Speaking of Kris, he's also far and away better than Danny. What was THAT?! I find it hilarious that the same people who complain about Adam's "screeching" (listen to some Guns N Roses... it's not screeching, it's rock) don't mind Danny's raspy yelling of the entire song while he dances like an uncoordinated wedding singer. He's horrendous. Adam has the most natural talent and should definitely win, but Kris will also be really successful (I'm a huge fan of the singer/songwriters... Jason Mraz, Gavin DeGraw, Eric Hutchinson, etc). Either way, I don't care enough anymore to actually bother voting for anyone.

i don't vote but Kris is my pick. I think Adam will win though. He's good but not my cup of tea. David Cook is still my favorite pick ever. ;)
Look who is coming to my area! :cool1:

Amen Sistah!!

Kris OMG!!!! That was incredible!!!!!! He blew the other 2 out of the water,it wasn't even close!

When we heard Adam was doing Aerosmith I thought "Awesome! Something in line with his screeching" then he blew it by doing nothing but screeching.

Danny rocked his first song, the second was blah until near the end.

For me tonite it was Kris then a ways down the road Danny then a smidge behind him Adam.

I am so sick of the screeching...isn't this supposed to be a singing competition?

I really, really, really hope Dialidol is right this time!!!!

Dialidol has it as a total tie... wow!

I think the producers will decide the final two for sweeps purposes mostly. They know who is their bread and butter based on how they place the people to keep the advertisers happy. :thumbsup2

All I have to say is ADAM ROCKED:thumbsup2
GO ADAM!!!

I really, really, really hope Dialidol is right this time!!!!

It better not be.

If it is a Kris-Adam finale, talk about a mismatch. If Adam wins I'll be mad but I've been expecting that since the beginning. And if Kris wins I will be absolutely disgusted.

My sisters and I voted the entire time (for Danny of course!) last night. Heck, so did my dad and he never votes. It was quite the scene with us all watching the Brewers and on our phones. I think we each MAYBE got in 20 votes each. We could hardly ever get through.

I have a feeling it was all for nothing though but I am still super excited to see what they all show of Danny's homecoming. If you see a girl in a bright green t-shirt, that was me! haha!

While I can't deny that Adam is extremely talented....it was nice of him to show some humility for a change and say how wonderful Danny and Kris are. I think Kris (who reminds me of Jason Mraz) will be the star of this bunch. Adam is too over the top Broadway and Danny doesn't have star power to me (though I like him). I miss little Allison....what a voice from a little girl! :goodvibes
:confused3

What are you talking about?? Adam has been very humble through the whole thing! Thanking the band, thanking the judges, warm fuzzies to the other contestants.

Geesh, this crowd is rough. I'm not surprised the Adam haters are/were out in force. He finally gives one not-so-stellar performance (Cryin') and they pounce all over him from out of the woodwork. Particularly when it's down to the wire like this. Such desperation to try to get him out and keep him from winning. :rotfl2:

I tried ALL NIGHT to get through for him and was unable.

Regardless. As I said in my review a few pages back...this was a stellar top 3. All of them deserve to be there and are talented guys. NO matter who wins at this point, we all won already. Such fun, such talent!

My overwhelming thought from last night is....

I just can't imagine how it would feel to be standing on that stage in front of millions of people with my heart racing and my career hanging in the balance waiting for the critique of 4 adults old enough to be my parents who are too busy holding their hands over each other's mouths to even notice that I am waiting.

Why is this season more about the judges than contestants????? :confused3

The judges got to force their picks on us with the "wildcard" picks, keep their favorite in with the "save", and reduce the amount of time the contestants actually sing to give them more time for grand entrances, more talking, and I can't forget wrestling. :confused3

My overwhelming thought from last night is....

I agree......Simon (and usually Randy) is the only judge that seems to get to the point and JUDGE the performances!! The girls, I'm embarrassed :sad2: to say make spectacles (spelling?) of themselves regularly. Their egos are getting in the way of doing the job  Ugh

I love Adam Lambert!!!!!!!! :cool1:

You know it really is you either like him or you don't. He is a rocker and yes rockers scream during songs! That is just the way it is. You either like hard rock music or you don't.

But you can not deny Adam has raw, natural talent.

Here's to Adam winning it all :woohoo:
