I agree. His performance was so over the to. I had a feeling Adam's performance would have an edge to it but I'm not sure who his audience is now. Certainly not the huge AI audience that loves him.

Lol. I can just imagine the rest of the top ten rolling on their floors in laughter.

His album is really, really good. He sure didn't lose me as a fan but I don't think he gained any fans with that performance.

For me it has nothing to do with him being gay. It is doing the stuff on REGULAR TV that I found disgusting.

Start a thread and see what people think. I have no idea what she did and would not of known what Adam did if it wasn't brought to my attention on the dis. I did not watch the awards show, watched Adam on youtube and responded to the question about his performance.

I was a little surprised, but not totally. I do see it as a double standard that a female artist can get all raunchy or a male artist could do similar stuff with a female dancer and no one would say a word about it. Well, there might be stuff said, but not things like they lost me as a fan.

I may be reading more into it, but for the last couple of weeks the media and everyone has been saying stuff about he isn't being "gay" enough and that he isn't showing people that side of him and being a poster child, blah, blah blah. I really think he did all of that stuff to proof a point and to say, I don't want to be the poster child for bringing the gay rights movement forward, but you keep asking so okay here you go, how do you like it. LOL

Personally, I've been listening to his CD all day long and I really like it. There are a few really good, catchy songs. Can't wait to see what he is going to sing on Good Morning American and Letterman. I'm guessing either Soaked (written by the guy from the Muse) or (the Pink / Max Martin song) Whataya Want From Me.

No double standard here. I don't care who it was if I see that garbage on regular TV i will protest by never ever buying any of their CD's.

I have no issues with the gay part but anything that simulates ,or worse, oral sex belongs on HBO, not ABC.

Fever is my favourite song so far and I replay it over and over. The entire album is very strong because normally I only like a couple songs on any artist's album. On Adam's there are only a couple I don't like that much.

BTW, I always find America's attitude on sex versus violence very odd - esp. compared to Europe. Kids can play the most violent video games and see killing, rape, torture etc. on prime time TV but God forbid they see a nipple or a face in the crotch. I found Lady Gaga's outfit very risque and could see her entire butt in the mirror - and how about Rihanna singing about shooting herself in the head?

I agree Tatania! Only a couple songs that I don't love. Not that they are bad really, just not as catchy.

I too thought the Rihanna song with the intro of her on some Frankenstein table and the guns the "dancers" had wasn't a good image either and it isn't something I would have wanted my 7 year old to watch, but I didn't start calling ABC to complain about it.

Here is a link to Ryan Seacrest's interview with Adam and he mentions the different things that were on the show that he felt were as bad if not worse than anything he or his dancers did. I found it interesting and he had some very valid points. I also still think this type of performance was planned because he doesn't want to be an idol of 6 and 7 year old kids. He wants an audience of adults. I know I love to listen to Pink and other artists and purposly by the explicit lyrics version of CDs so I don't feel I have to share my music and artists with my DD. She can have her teeny bobber music and I can have my adult pop/rock music.
