I know all of MJ's fans and many others are upset with last night elimination. I think the problem was that he shared a lot of fans with David Cook. After David Cook's performance on Tuesday, they were probably so worried about him going that they gave most of their votes to DC. Just a guess.

Also factor in that Jason had a really strong night.

Everytime someone good gets the boot early, talk around here turns to "it's better not to win" and the comparison of winners vs. non-winners in sales, etc. I think we can all agree that winning is not relevant to the ultimate success of these people.

HOWEVER....the fact remains that we have - what - 5 more weeks of this show and I will have to watch it without MJ in it. And THAT right there....that is what sux. I don't get all bent out of shape about whether or not someone wins....I just want them to stick around so I can keep seeing them; simple as that.

I loved Jason Castro's performance of Somewhere Over the Rainbow. He, along with the other contestants, looked like they were shocked with the result.

I totally agree with the above. If or when my favorite goes (and all of those little girls screaming for David A makes me worried for this years result), that will be my main regret. I believe that Jason will put out a fantastic recording that I would buy but I won't be able to see him perform on my TV every week. This is probably where the idol thing comes in versus just being another recording artist.

Really surprising. I'll miss him a lot. My DS10 was devastated. David C is our fave but we love MJ almost as much. I think he'll be successful, but I will miss him on the show. Syesha & KLC should go NOW! I will have to start voting heavily for DC!

And one of my first thoughts last night was "Poor Robinrs!"

That's what I was thinking...I'm really going to miss Michael's performance every week. I knew he wasn't going to win, but he is so entertaining. He'll get a deal and will probably be put as a lead singer of a band....just like Daughtry. Michael just has "it."

Kind of odd that I read an article just yesterday where Paula said the top 4 will be David A (ugh), David C, Carly and Michael Johns. Guess that is why she said last night that America got it part right part wrong but definately wrong with who went home.

There is lots of opportunity outside of AI for these people - look at all the ones that have been eliminated in previous seasons that have something going for them - especially what's her name that won the Oscar or Emmy -

Also for those who are amazed that KLC is still there, remember that she is the choice of Vote for the Worst. As bad as she really is, I think this group is able to sway the results at this stage. I get their point (she is the worst) but I wish that they would go away.

I think this was part of the problem, also. When MJ auditioned he sang a blues song, he was not set up to be a "rocker". They didn't want two rockers, MJ and DC literally shared a LOT of fans.... on the IDF board MAVIDS are common.

I think they have decided on a David/David finale, with a man winning this year.

Damo, if you don't believe that the PTB on this show skew the results you know nothing about this business. They are shrewd and know who they owe and that's behind the scenes in plugola and payola. They have people on this show attached to the biggest power mongers behind AI. They could care less about the ratings, they will ALWAYS win their time period. It's the final analysis that counts and it's much more in depth than just record sales and ratings.

Thanks to everyone who worried about me... lol, I've survived WAY more than this!!

Yes, I agree. That is the worst part of them being eliminated too soon. Like I said, I don't want DC to win it all but there again, I do not want him to leave too soon because I'll miss him each week.

Honestly I wasn't all that surprised to see MJ in the bottom 3 last night. But I didn't expect him to be the one to go home.


I figured Syesha would go. I think she's got better vocals than a lot of the remaining contestants, but she doesn't seem to be connecting with enough people.

It depends on how people are voting though.

We all get that the rabid David A fans vote for hours on end every week no matter what he puts out there. I haven't checked Dial Idol this year, but I'm willing to bet he was in the number one spot even after his horrible performance on Beatles week revisited. The insane screaming every time he walks on stage is enough to make me hurl... Blah!

IMO MJ has been good, but not great, from the beginning and I don't think he's shown either the steady improvement or the consistency the judges are looking for. "Dream On" certainly wasn't my favorite performance of his.

I know there are a lot of Kristy Lee haters, but you have to admit she has improved. Personally I thought "Anyway" was one of the best performances this week and yes, I've heard the Martina McBride version.
If people are voting performance by performance then I don't think she should have gone home or been in the bottom three this week... now if they're voting overall, it may be a whole different story.

I say Both David's will be in the top three, but I'm not ready to predict who will make it through with them yet.

Yes, I agree. That is the worst part of them being eliminated too soon. Like I said, I don't want DC to win it all but there again, I do not want him to leave too soon because I'll miss him each week.

Same here. MJ and DC have been my favorites since the beginning, so I knew they wouldn't win. I just think they should stay a little while longer. I have to keep reminding myself that this is more of a popularity contest than a talent competition.

I thought for sure it would be KLC or Brooke.

In my humble opinion, David Cook is the best male and Carly is the best female. I like David A but he is so young and even though he has a beautiful voice he isn't a great performer.
