I thought Jason's was incredibly cheesey ( a ukelele? On Idol?), MJ seemed angry and was shouting into the microphone, Carly was good, Brooke was okay, Syesha was booo ring, KLC actually did okay this week, but I think she'll still be in the bottom three.

David Cook did good, I thought. I guess I didn't see where Simon meant it was "self-indulgent".

David A (barf). My DH said "I can't stand that kid. He's like the dork that always got beat up in high school."

ETA: And Carly needs to wear a shirt with SLEEVES!

I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but last night they only let Carly and Brooke talk after the judges spoke. Everyone else, they just rushed through, to the point where when the judges spoke after Jason's performance, Ryan said "don't say anything", and gave out the phone numbers

They should be fair to all the contestants and give them equal time!

It may have been because Syesha and Michael C. used up extra time by talking to the judges during their comments and they were running out of time. I think they ran overtime anyways.

I'm surprised at how many people aren't familiar with Jason's ukelele version of somewhere over the rainbow.

I do think it is very cool how there is such a range of likes and dislikes on last night's show. It sounds like Jason was the top performer for a majority of people though and David Cook was a disappointment and Carly or Brooke likely going home.

I was surprised 2 weeks ago at how many people weren't familiar with Luther Vandross' song!!!

I guess it depends on what worlds you frequent. I never heard of David C's song either and most of the people on the other thread were very familiar with it.

I agree, Jason was tops, and I would REALLY like to see Carly go home.

And David Cook, I have thought was great every week, until this week. he just sounded wierd and I didn't care for it. He shouldnt' go home or anything, it just was not a good week for him.

Carly go home?? Are we watching the same show? The girl has a great voice! Jason had one good night. His other performances have been fair. If I had to pick the bottom three in this competition I would say Syesha, Jason, and Kristy. I love Brook. She is not the best singer but she is a wonderful person!

I don't know how I missed it that she's married. As a nanny in Manhattan, I guess I (wrongly) assumed that she was a live-in, and single.

I know what you mean but interchanging Brooke and Jason. He may not be the best singer there but I think he is a wonderful charismatic person. Brooke, I feel, over acts every song she sings. I don't find her believable at all. I guess I just don't like the drama and that is probably why I do like Jason.

She used to be a nanny in Manhattan. Didn't she say that she now lives in LA and is working on her music.

I don't think Jason added anything/brought anything new to that song. It too was a "self-indulgent" choice and very predictable of him. He sang it well, but was no where NEAR the original.

Syesha I thought blew Fantasia out of the water by a mile. Of course, I hate Fantasia.

Michael Johns started out weak but finished strong. I was very impressed with the Steven Tyler scream at the end. It's very hard to do.

David C also started out weird and weak with a song I don't know (or now like), but he finished veru strong.

KLC did very nicely but I don;t think it's enough for redemption. Her singing wasn't inspired...it was predicatble.

Carly had good moments, but a few off ones as well. She is the female lead this year.

David A...much less lip licking, if not none at all. Good performance, but I'm "just not into him".

Brooke's performance was predictable, and forgettable.

I couldn't remember where I had heard it before, but that was it. I loved it too.

I think that song is also played at the very end of the movie 50 First Dates, when Drew looks out the boat window.

I loved Jason last night. I thought he really connected with the song. I gave him some votes.

I really disappointed in my favorite last night-David Cook.
I know the band, but I have never heard that song. It just seemed to be just repeating the same line, and didnt do much to show his vocals. I still voted for him though because he is my favorite.

I didnt get all the love to David A. last night-I didnt think it sounded that good. I thought the lower register parts were off. You just know he is going to win-and that sucks! Just like Season 5 with Taylor-unfortunately there was no stopping that train wreck. And please stop all the screaming girls in the audience!! I really dont get his appeal, and neither do my two DDs.

I think KLC saved herself for another week-she actually did pretty well last night-but I didnt vote for her. Not my style.

I am really surprised by DialIdol!! I dont know if we are giving spoilers on this site-but I am sad to see my favorite near the bottom.

My review:

Michael - one of my favortite songs - I liked it but I still think he's the lead singer in a band and not a solo performer.

Syesha - ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Jason - to quote Simon "FANTASTIC" - I think Jason is by far the most UNIQUE contestant this year.

KLC - I agree with everyone that she probably saved herself another week but I really don't like her.

David C - Never heard of the song, didn't like it. Not a good night for David.

Carly - ehhhhhhhhhhhhhh

David A - I thought he was just alright last night.

Well here is my take on last night ---- not the best from a lot of them

Michael Johns --- Being a huge Aerosmith fan, I actually liked it. It wasn't his best but it was good. He started weak, but I feel finished strong. I do think he should stick with more a blues sound though.

Seyesha --- She is good, but she doesn't seem to be branching out. She may be in the bottom 3.

Jason --- I was not sure on this, but after listening to it again I liked it. I just don't think he can win this and I think his days are numbered. I really see him in a coffeehouse singing.

David Cook --- Ok, not his best but his best have been HUGE!!!! So it is expected he might slip a bit. I think it is was pretty good though. I would buy his CD for sure!

Kristy Lee --- I am NOT a Kristy Lee fan, but she did good last night. I agree predictable, but one of her best. She may even have kept herself out of the bottom 3 for the first time!

David A --- Same old same old. I don't see anything ever different about this kid. I have noticed he is licking his lips SO much less. I am sure he is being coached about that I just can't get over the fact he looks so much like Ernie from Burt and Ernie!!!

Carly --- powerful voice, but something seemed off on her performance last night. She might be in the bottom three

Brooke -- I like Brooke. Not the best singer, but she just seems like a breath of fresh air.

Well, where do I begin. We both have blonde hair. I think we are about the same height. I'm married and so is she. She's on tv and I watch tv. Her age has a 2 in it and so does mine! Can you believe how close we are. More details needed? Here is a big shock. Her name is Brooke and my friend has a niece who's name is Brooke. Is this exciting or what?

I noticed that David A is not licking his lips much anymore. I also noticed that he looks like a puppet during the judges critique. He's trying his best not to smile from ear to ear. You could tell that he wanted to, but was really holding it back. I guess he's being coached on that part too. I don't mind the smiling, I think I'd rather see that than him forcing a somber look.


I was disappointed in David C last night. I didn't like the song or the way he sang it at all. I agree that it just repeated itself over and over. I still love him and know he's not going anywhere yet though.

I didn't like the arrangement of Jason's song at all! I absolutely love that song, but hate it sang that way. His voice was fine and he sang it well for that arrangement, but I still didn't like it.

I thought KLC did great. If she could stay in her comfort zone she would be fine, but unfortunately in this competition that's not how it works.

I think it will be Syesha going home tonight. I think she sang fine, but she just doesn't move me. She's predictible and boring.

Brooke was alright. I love that song, and she didn't butcher it, so I was happy.

MJ wasn't as good as I'd hoped he'd be. He wasn't awful though.

Carly does not impress me at all. I didn't like how she sang the song and I didn't agree with Simon that she looked great. I thought the outfit did nothing for her. I have nothing against Tatooes but come on, we know you have a full sleeve, you can cover it up once in a while.

I'm not a Jason fan, but I absolutely LOVED his performance of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." He did a great job with that!!

Didn't care much for David Cook or Michael John's, and they are my two favorites.

I thought Kristy did a wonderful job with Martina's song. Martina is DH's favorite female country singer and even HE thought she did a great job with it and was impressed. I'm hoping she won't be in the bottom 3 this week!

David A. and Syesha were just boring, and I didn't care much for Brooke last night either. I'm getting tired of Carly looking so angry all the time.

I would like to see Syesha go home tomorrow night.

It was a sincere question, the way you posted about how wonderful she was I thought that maybe you knew her personally. Not sure why you responded like that.
