American Idol Season 6: The Official Thread

Clarification--he wasn't a "fan". When asked who he is inspired by--it was William Hung b/c there is little to no Asian talent in the US. They are underrepresented and he is motivated by Hung to step up and show that there is some talent out there in the Asian population.

In other words--William Hung inspired him to "represent". ;)

Ok, got it. This is what happens when the husband is groaning and asking me if the show is over yet. :rotfl:

I clicked on this link and got a warning from my anti virus that it might be infected. I quarentened (sp) it and deleted it and then clicked on the link again to see if that is where it came from & i got the same warning the 2nd time. :confused3 Anyone else?

It is a very popular idol forum. I've never had any trouble with it.

Last night was the first show I go to watch all the way through, got home from work early enough. I was very impressed with Tammi, The roller skater and the "Think" girl. Simon seemed very mellow in his comments.

I wish I could have seen more of the guys though. I was impressed with the one guy from a few weeks ago...can't remember his name though, they did show him last night when previewing the Hollywood round.

anyone remember the cowboy's name?

If you're talking about the guy from last year who was on the final show, I just took a look at my TIVO'd copy and found his name is Matthew Buckstein. Now I'm checking to see if he's in the top 24.

NUTS! If that was him, and I'm pretty sure it was, and if the spoilers are correct, he didn't make it.... again. :(

It was definitely him. I'm so sad to hear that he didn't make it. I really hope the spoilers are wrong - although I doubt they are. It seems as though quite a few of my favorites won't be in the top 24 - but some of them are.

I was pleasantly surprised that they actually showed a good amount of good singers! I'm so excited for Hollywood week to start! It's time to get down to the real singing. A month of auditions is really a bit too much.

Now comes the high drama, the back stabbing, more tears & pleas. Not a fan of that stuff. Just rather hear them singing & not all the backstage arguing. But I'm probably in the minority.

And if you read the spoiler thread (highlight the following to read):

Tammi wasn't listed on there at all! How could she be that good and not make it. I mean, she was fantastic.

The Hollywood auditions are my favorite part. It's intense, it's dramatic, it's nerve-wracking, and we finally get to start knowing the contestants personally and personality-wise. I think Seacrest alluded to this year being full of back-stabbing amongst the gals. My favorites so far are still:
Sunjaya
Sundance
The tough chick who "trained" like Rocky for the competition
The black guy who is only 16
The Pickler wannabe from Reidsville, NC with the sob-story (NC representin!)

I enjoy the Hollywood auditions, too. It separates the good from the excellent and give us an insight to the work ethics of the immature....:sad2:

This is not an easy business and if you're not on time, partied all night or forget your words, it's now when it's recognized who are the stronger survivors.

THAT and the types they so obviously fall into every year... (cute Southern blonde, belting Black woman, country guy, preferably someone from the military, cute teenaged boy, cute teenaged girl, one rocker guy, one raspy voiced girl, and all of the others in between etc....:cool2: )

And if you read the spoiler thread (highlight the following to read):

If a singer--no matter how good they are...cannot memorize the song (not sure if that is why...but just saying!)....then it is pretty difficult to continue on as it takes someone really special for that one item to be ignored.

And that'll just be in this thread. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Oh wait, you were talking about the show... :rolleyes1

I wonder who'll be this year's Brenna.

Looking forward to Hollywood week!

Bucky didn't remember the words in the Hollywood auditions & he wasn't the greatest singer but they still gave him another chance. Which I was glad, cause he made up for it, he was pretty hot, especially when he'd toss his mike from one hand to the other. I don't know why but I thought that was sexy.:confused3

True--but I think it gave him a pass on the first day IIRC. He did a better job the rest of the week.

As I said--it takes someone special for that flaw to be overlooked if it happened.

I guess everyone has a preference because those two were my LEAST favorites. :scared:

Thank you. I realize everyone has a different taste in music and yes I think both of these girls are very talented but, oh lordy.... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

Robin, I can tell you and I are in the same age group because we want someone who is different. Chris Sligh is that person so far this year. There are a few others too but he was the one just like Taylor was last year and Bo the year before. I have listened to his audition a hundred times and all I can say is ... Give us more!!! :thumbsup2
