I mean, are you really going to sit there every Wednesday and say, "oh darn, I know how this is going to turn out because PhiSigPrincess already told me?" No - now you can just watch AI all season waiting for the rumor to be proven wrong.

Plus he got bleeped a lot in the elevator too. Whe he got the Idol logo over his mouth and fingers I commented to my daughters that the judges knew what they were doing.

Oh, I missed the whole elevator part and only saw the part where they were with Ryan. In that case, I don't feel quite as bad for Tommy as I did previously! My mistake, guys!

Did anyone notice they played Chris Daughtry's song "Home" during one of AI commercials last night (the commercial with Simon)?
I hear that might be the new goodbye song for the emilinated contestants instead of "Bad Day". Chris' song "What I Want" is also used for CBS promos.

I am so proud of Chris!! I remember some of you last season thought that Chris, being a 4th place finisher, would go no where in the music industry. Glad that he proved some of the doubters wrong.

Cant wait to next week to hear all the contestants sing so I can form a better opinion on them all. I wish they could make the Hollywood round last more than 2 days. Some of the people the judges raved about in the auditions you never even saw in Hollywood week. I was looking forward to seeing more of Jenry (the cutie 16 year old)-did they even show him al all??
I have no favorites as this time, except I think Chris Sligh is VERY funny!

I dont remember too many people saying he wouldnt make it in the music industry...but I do remember alot saying he couldnt win Idol....which turned out true...as a matter of fact I remember almost everyone saying he has a great voice for mainstream music and cds...I think that will be proven too...Like I said earlier I am not a rocker type but i liked Chris...I think what hurt him was he didnt change at all...everything he sang sounded exactly the same...which is not really a bad thing unless you are trying to win Idol....glad to see him doing well...

I'm sorry to all of you conspiracy theorists out there, but the show isn't rigged. If it was, Taylor wouldn't have won. I loved him, but Simon absolutely hated him (his voice, not him personally) and has continued to say so ever since. They admit that personality plays a huge role in the voting (I like Chris too, but at this point mostly because he's witty).

They have also said that they size up the contestants during Hollywood week to figure out who is more likely to become a diva once they are on the show and that can get them booted. I didn't care much for Antonella until she handled the elevator ride down so well. Of course its easier being gracious when you're the one staying.

I'm looking forward to next week so I can decide on some favorites.

Marisa really stood out for me when they broke into groups. She was in the group with Gina Glocksen, Perla (aka Shakira), and someone else I can't now remember. She was wearing a pony tail and white tank t-shirt and, like Gina, was totally frustrated with Perla. Everytime they began to sing, she was the best singer in that group, better than Gina who did make it through.

The spoiler isn't really about who will win, it's about who the producers WANT to win. Brandon has the looks, the voice, the experience, the "it" factor and is extremely commercial and marketable - it's not that much of a stretch to predict he'll go very far in the competition.

On the other hand, Chris Sligh is quickly building a huge internet fan base...I think he's this year's Taylor Hicks.

The show does have some interesting little quirks for being just a voter-run process.

Certain singers are usually presented better than others in the competition rounds. They get better/more professional lighting, camera angles etc.

There's always that total SHOCKER at least once in the final 10. And then they chastise the viewers - how could you let so-and-so go home? Vote often to keep your favourites on the show!

And they'll tell you that texting the is best way to get your vote in, because the phone lines don't always work. Want an example? The week that Constantine went home was one of those big shocker weeks. I was on the idol forum all that evening and person after person kept posting about how they couldn't get through to Constantine's line at all. For every person that said they were able to vote for him at least 10 others said they had their phones dialing constantly and didn't get through once. The next night he's got the lowest votes? Hmmmm. Irate fans flooded Fox with call and complained on the forum (most of the threads complaining about problems with the phone lines were deleted). On his radio show Ryan admitted that yes they'd had a problem with the phone lines but that the voting would stand because people were still able to text their votes in. Did Constantine go home because he was the worst singer that week? More likely because he has an ego the size of Texas and was being a pain in the butt. I like Constantine but if he'd won he'd have been out of control.

I also understand that contestants are often referred to as the "cast" of the show. Because let's not forget that no matter what might come of the contestants this is a TV show and they'll do whatever they have to in order to get the ratings.

I agree. Chris seems "Taylorish" to me. I haven't watched every season of AI, but I can see where there are certain archetypes to be filled each season. Many, many potential parallels between this season and last.

I would hate to think that this is a sham and its already predetermined...that would just ruin the whole AI experience....wouldnt it????....I dont think its true but it would sure raise alot of questions....
