American Idol Season 6: The Official Thread

The brother can sing...but what does he know about Willie Nelson...LOL...He was very good....loved his voice....he will be top 12

I believe he'll be top 12 - he's HOT! Young but hot! And he can sing!

What was the story with the older guy? I missed the whole story, but saw the preview of him talking about someone having just died.

Yeah I'm curious too. I just saw something on fox news they were talking about it but I tried to find it on youtube and couldnt. I miss most of the show tonight :(

He said that his "lady" of 20 years was diagnosed with cancer. During the time she was sick he kept her spirits up by getting a petition signed by numerous people - I didn't hear him explain what the petition was specifically for, but I think it was to let him audition for the show even though he is older than the required age.

He said that she passed away on Friday - 2 days before the auditions. The song he was singing was dedicated to her. He had a great voice. I was thinking that maybe some record producer may have been watching & could pick him up as an older entertainer. He was actually very good.

I think he was saying that he was a "winner" because even though he knew he couldn't officially go to Hollywood, all the judges said they thought he was great and could have if the rules didn't have the age cut off.

ugh, friggen Bones has gotta mess with my entertaiment for tonight!! seriously, i don't get why that show is even still on air. David Borenaz will always be Angel to me, i don't care what anyone says.
Because Bones is an awesome show! My whole family is so happy new episodes are on! Tonight was a great one!

anybody watching the grease show....where there are looking for the next sandy and danny....similar to this show...but the host and judges are not as good....Olivia was just a guest judge on that
DD's and I watch it. It's pretty good!

Dreadful show last night. I can stand the no talent wannabes if they'll throw in at least one person with a voice. Last night that didn't happen.

Panther Man - :confused3 I hope his keepers found him. And once again I had to ask why do these people think they can sing in regards to the former Gold-diggers' daughter and the Taylor chick. No, NO, NO!!!

Brian from last year was back but I wish he hadn't bothered and the last guy, Eric, nearly made my ears bleed with his falsetto. So he used Randy and Paula's singing guide, eh? Note to self... do not lay out cash for that turkey. :rotfl:

The only high points of the night were Sherman, the older gentleman with the sad story told with class who could really sing. Let's get a petition going to get him on the show!! :thumbsup2

Brandon, the background singer. OK and certainly better than anyone else they showed us last night but he didn't knock my socks off.

Best Simonism: Gold-digger mother of the girl with no voice stated that her daughter got the audience going. Simon replied yeah, but the wrong way. :teeth:

Chris from last night is still leading the pack on my VERY short list!

He was a winner b/c he made it to the audition (which was the purpose of the petition--to be allowed to audition).

And Simon--was the PERFECT gentleman. I am very proud of all the judges and their decorum in handling it.

Thanks for clarifying.

Yes, Simon was the perfect gentleman.

I really liked this man & thought he had a great voice.

Have to say I LOVED the banana guy...I was laughing so hard I nearly split my pants.

When the older gentleman came on and told his story, I was in tears. That must've been so hard for him to do and the way the judges handled it was amazing.

They showed Randy and Paula's Sing Like an Idol DVD last night on Channel 4, during their regular "Deal or Dud?" segment. I think the consensus was it was a total dud.:crazy2:

And somebody..what was up with the panther dude? What drugs was he taking and can I have some please? :lmao:

:rotfl2: Oh my goodness the panther guy was out there!

Me too. Except for that awful singer who he said was 'really great.' You know, the one who was 'about to quit singing and go to college.'

Simon liked her 'look', that's all. And don't you thnk that sometimes he just HAS to have his eye-candy?

The older gentleman has a GREAT voice, very smooth, no cracking, no straining, in good shape *especially* considering his age. AND he can perform while under supposedly great stress...a lot of the younger singers were having nasty cases of nerves(or as Randy likes to say...they were a little "pitchy"). This guy has seen the worse that Life has to offer already...a measly little reality TV show audition certainly didn't phase him!

agnes!

I know who you're talking about and I didn't think she was great, but I didn't think she was horrible either. Especially considering who auditioned.

I liked last night's show, especially a lot more than the New York show last week. I loved the older guy. He also made me cry. It was such a sweet thing to do and I'm glad they put him on the show.

I thought the girl who was about to go to college had a good-sounding voice, but maybe not technically the best. She might get better if she gets more help with it or practices a little more. I'm glad they put her through to Hollywood.

I thought the first girl was really good, beautiful voice.
