The only reason I said "out on a limb" is because the judges actually liked her tonight (and I kinda did, too). Unfortunately, I don't think that'll help her.

Melissa is one of my favorites, but the cynic in me thinks Simon was kind to her so people wouldn't feel fired up and compelled to vote for her.

My thoughts on the lukewarm Stevie Wonder night...

Ace - Do I Do - - Fortunately, Randy started the night off by saying Ace wasn't that good. He was right. This guy was good for one week and he's been AWFUL every week after that.

Kellie - Blame It on the Sun - - And Simon thinks this girl could be the winner this year? Awful Stevie Wonder song, awful delivery. She looks kinda hot, though...does that mean I like Dolly Parton, though, Simon?

Elliot - Knocks Me Off My Feet - - Just kinda boring. He sounds alright, but the song choice was just okay and Elliot seems uncomfortable onstage.

Mandisa - Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing - - [Where are all the "just okay smilies?] Seriously, these are some poor Stevie Wonder songs. I don't know this song, but it seemed like sometimes she was hitting the wrong notes - Could be totally off on that, but that's the way it seemed to me. Still, she was the best so far...

Bucky - Superstitious - - When I see Bucky, I see country karaoke bar and there's nothing he can do about that. One of my favorite songs ever was mangled by the Buckster.

Melissa - Lately - - [I'm running out of bad smilies] Forgot the words, but was alright. She did hit some wrong notes, but I kind of liked the beginning, hated the middle, and was feeling a "so what" at the end. Stll, she wasn't anything to vote for.

Lisa - Signed, Sealed, Delivered - - Is it just that Stevie's songs are too iconic? Do I know this song too well to be impressed? It seems like this Aaliyah look-a-like was singing the song too low or something. Just blah to me.

Kevin - Part-Time Lover - (don't tell anyone, but I kinda liked it) - Now, I'm a little worried. I liked him singing this song and he did some runs that were interesting. I don't want this kid winning, but I liked it. Plus, "I wasn't expecting much from you anyway" was PRICELESS!! I almost feel like joining the Vote for the Worst brigade to keep this kid in here!

Katharine - Until You Come Back to Me - - I have the McPheever and there's no denying it. Finally, someone belts one out! Her jazz-style voice is something I look forward to each week, and I guess I'm one of the few that thinks she hasn't really faltered yet.

Taylor - Living for the City - - I find myself smiling the whole time he sings. Him and Katharine in the final two anyone?

Paris - All I Do - - She was pretty good. Don't love the song, but she was alright. Towards the end, I think she hit an off note, but she did a decent job.

Chris - Higher Ground - - Pretty good...no Taylor, though...Wish he had stepped out of his "comfort zone" a little, but he was definitely Top Three material tonight.

Kellie & Paris annoy me, Ace is skating by on his okay looks. I do still love Chris & Elliot though. Other than Katherine, I think a boy has this one sewn up...
And you would be happy to know I have Renee Olstead's CD- awesome!

I love Taylor, he just makes me smile. He is so into it, I hope he makes it to the end.
After last week I was looking forward to his performance and he delivered.

Big question -- why didn't anyone sing "Overjoyed?" That is my favorite Stevie song

i love that song too, but jose 'sway' penala (remember him? seems so long ago ) sang it on AI just a couple of weeks ago, so i guess that's why no one sang it tonight.
gotta get cracking....i have about 6 people i'm trying to vote for! i really like a lot of them. so far i have only been able to get through for taylor! i like melissa a lot, but i think she'll be going this week. i hope its kellie though.

Well, thanks. I'll take "almost perfect." Don't get me wrong. Kevin isn't good, but him singing "Part-Time Lover" was a hoot! And---thread drift---Renee Olstead is "awesome."

I want to know who told that kid that he is the sex symbol of the show!?!?!??! He is horrible!!! Half of the people tonight were terrible & don't belong there. This is going to be a painful 6 weeks until they get rid of the excess bagage & get down to the real singing.

Chris was my favorite tonight, he has alot of talent.

Kellie and Kevin were my least two favorite. Kellie can start to work on your nerves after awhile! At first I thought she was cute but now it is getting old!

I felt like the show didn't really start until Katharine performed. The best four tonight were definitely the last four, Katharine, Taylor, Paris and Chris. And I still definitely want Taylor to win. He can definitely sing, but boy does he have a personality. He's got an awesome voice, but he's also an amazing performer, he knows how to make everyone enjoy each and every one of his performances!

I still think the first two to go home should be Bucky and Melissa. I still believe that Bucky took Will's spot and Melissa took Ayla's. Out of the two, Melissa did worse (and I think she was probably the worst out of everyone tonight), so she should be the one going home tomorrow.

And I have to say it, I still love Kevin! I was actually worried about his performance tonight, because I really didn't think he'd be able to pull it off. But I really enjoyed his performance! It wasn't awesome, but it definitely wasn't the worst of the night. I know he's not going to make it that far, but I'd like to see him just last for at least a couple more weeks.

I think Kevin's "sex symbol" status has gone to his head with the way he's acting lately. Mouthing back to Simon (not that Simon deserves mucho respect, but still...) and carrying on with the "sex symbol" act and all. It's getting out of hand.

The ONLY performance tonight worth tuning in for were Taylor, Katherine and Chris. Those 3 were AWESOME with a capital A! Everybody else sucked wind, or were at best highly mediocre. Taylor Katherine and Chris will duke it out for the top honors and although Chris is my favorite and I've always said he should win, the more I think about it, the more I hope he and Taylor don't win so that they can have lucrative careers (which they will totally get) without having to sing lame-o sugary pop-tart American Idol music. I will buy all 3 of their albums and lovingly put them next to Bo's (even though his first album was a little weak).

Hopefully next week will be better.

So who is leaving tomorrow? I'm HOPING for Paris, but it should go to Kevin or Kellie.

This Lisa girl is starting to emerge. I like her. But Chris is the guy I "want" to win, though he won't.

I'm glad I had this one Tivo'd so I could fast forward through most of it. I am not a Stevie fan and only knew 3 of the songs so it was kinda hard for me to get into tonight.

Ace was awful, Kellie was awful and gets on my nerves, Elliott was blah, Mandisa sounded pretty good, Bucky was not too good, Melissa was OK, Lisa was OK, Kevin was funny.

My favorites were Katharine and Chris. And Taylor is growing on me...I started out really disliking him but thought he did well tonight. Paris can sing and I thought she had a great performance but I don't like her for some reason.

Taylor is awesome - I just love his voice. And he's one of the few people I've seen over the many seasons I've been watching that truly LOVES music. That's what I like about him. There have been a lot of very talented yet extremely FAKE people on AI... Taylor ain't one of them

I am tired of Kellie and her "Bumpkin in Hollywood" thing. I know she really was sheltered but there is something annoying about it. I could easily forgive her if she put in a good performace, she didn't.

Taylor better not color that hair! grrrr.

Chris was good wasn't he?

With Taylor and Mandissa I get the feeling that they get lost in just doing a good performance. It's a contest and they know that but when they are on stage they just shine because they really seem to love where they are in that moment. I like that.
