It wasn't a perfect performance but Bucky is the only one so far that's really caught my attention. That shocked me!

WHEN BUCKY SANG HE WAS THE BEST AT THAT TIME!! THE TOP 3 WERE BUCKY, TAYLOR, AND CHRIS!! CHRIS !!!!

Katharine's dress is ugly (the style, I think). I told my 12yo that it looked like maybe she should have a shirt on underneath it and he about choked. His comment was that dresses are interesting now days.

MY 12 YEAR OLD SON SAID SHE LOOKS PREGNANT IN THAT... I AGREED!

I just love Taylor, he's so giddy and ecstatic about everthing and he's really entertaining.
I can't believe Mandisa sang barefoot! lol
And Kevin?....I think he HONESTLY believes he's a sex symbol. I didn't hear any sort of humor in his voice when he said he needs to uphold that image or whatever. And I think he also needs a smaller mic. You can't see half of his face when he's holding it!
Did anyone see the guy in the audience right before Taylor sang? Ryan was talking to the camera and he was to the left of the screen. When Ryan introduced Taylor, the guy, who had gray hair, did a little Taylor move it looked like. It was funny to see, and I was just wondering if I was the only one who noticed.

Wow! Chris continues to ROCK!!!! After him comes Taylor, Katharine, Mandisa, Lisa, and Paris...the rest left me cold. PLEASE send Kevin home already...if not, then Melissa.

Except the other ones coming next for me were Taylor, Katherine, and Mandisa..I kinda liked Paris too. But the worst that I hope get voted off the next few weeks in this order: Melissa, Bucky (those 2 are a tied for worst for me) Kevin, Kellie, and then we will start in on the so so ones like Lisa, Ace, etc etc.

I missed Ace but he sounded awful in the bit they show at the end. I don't think that his good looks can carry him much further. No rating

Kellie looked and sounded awful. I supported her in the beginning but enough is enough. I don't see anything Dolly Parton about her. 3

Elliott sounded good but didn't seem too with it tonight. Still a good voice. 6

Mandisa can sing but she also didn't seem really into it. She can do better. 6

Bucky was WAY out of his comfort zone and yet he sounded OK. He looked better too but why did someone fluff up his hair, the poor guy. 7

Melissa was just eh to me. I can't get into her. 5

Lisa is cute and has a pretty good voice. She has potential. 6

Kevin is a sex symbol? Whaaaat?!!! I dislike his voice and his attitude, and I don't see anything cute about him. 3

Katherine has a good voice and a nice presence. 7

Taylor is so fun and sounds great. I hope he stays to the very end. 9

Paris is an OK singer but doesn't do much for me. 5

Chris ROCKS and that always gets me. My favorite of the night. 10

These shows are fun even with the few bad ones. I wonder what the theme is for next week?

I'm not going to comment on individual singing this week. I think most did a good job...some better than others, some worse....

BUT PLEASE...can we do no more Stevie Wonder songs?

I love Stevie Wonder songs, but tonight was so boring until Taylor and Chris that I was almost falling asleep!

I'd like to see an Elvis night...he sang all different styles of music and I think it would be interesting.

Who else would you guys like to see be the theme once?

I would like to see Kevin do some Kanye West....that would be comical....I got the feeling tonight the were promoting the silly factor....like with Kevin and someone else they were laughing at real hard....maybe it was me.....

I didnt like the Stevie Wonder theme...not so sure that I like theme weeks....I think they should be allowed to sing what they want and the best singer wins....wishful thinking I know..

Well, I enjoyed tonight's show. Yes it had its downs but the ups more than made up for them.

The weakest of the night for me were:
Ace
Kellie
Kevin

I would be happy if any of these three were to be sent home. Even though I hope its Kevin. Yes, he is a little cutie, but I can't stand to hear him sing or really even to look at him. I just busted out laughing when he opened his mouth because you can just tell he is out of his element. The other 11 singers sing head an shoulders above him. (And the fact that I just don't think he is a lover of any kind be it full or part time.)

I truly hope that Melissa survives and is able to give it one more try. I know she has it in her, she just needs to get control of herself on stage and bring it. Now, do I think she will win the AI title...no, but I think she has more talent then Kevin and she should last longer than he does.

The best of the night for me were:

All the others were just middle of the road for me. I can take them or leave them it makes no difference to me.

I will say that for me in the two hardest to get in tonight and place my vote for were Bucky and Taylor. Chris and Mandisa were next hardest and Katharine was next after them. Then easiest was Melissa. I really do hope that Melissa is not going home.

I did!! It only caught my eye because for a second I thought it was Taylor. You can tell the guy was really a fan. I thought it was really funny.

I had a lot of trouble voting for Bucky and Chris. Katherine is the other one I tried to vote for (Taylor didn't need votes IMO!) and I sailed on through for her. But who knows? I've usually found it easier to vote this year than in years past. Maybe they added more lines.

The Top 12: Give this people some Valium!

Bigger stage, bigger audience, bigger shoes to fill (Stevie Wonder) made for a night with big nerve issues for most of the top 12. Most had some problems but a few managed to make it look like a walk in the park. Here’s my take on the top twelve.

Ace: He sang Do I Do and right away set the standard for the night. While Stevie can sing his own songs, it’s going to be a hard act to follow. I found Ace’s performance extremely weak at the beginning. His voice was shaky during parts of the song, I’m assuming from nerves and, although he showed some good stage presence, I got the feeling he just wanted his 5 minutes of fame to be over.
Just a yawner for me, Ace gets a 5.

Kellie: Despite the judges wondering where the real Kellie was, I thoroughly enjoyed her performance. But even more enjoyable than her singing was her exit interview. She just cracks me up and if this is an act, she’s really good at it. Can anyone else see this girl doing a movie or sitcom?
Not her best but pretty good none the less, I give her a 7.

Elliott: Seeing that Elliott has already performed 2 Stevie Wonder songs, I figured he’d nail his performance. Well, not exactly. I forget which song he sang (actually I don’t think I had ever heard it) and really didn’t care for it. He’s another one that seemed to be having a hard time with his nerves and I found his presentation a bit on the shaky side.
Not terrible but certainly not his best offering, Elliott gets an 8.

Mandisa: Performing Don’t you worry bout a thing was a great choice for her. The only touchy part was at the beginning when the pitch was a bit too low for her range. Once again she gave us a high energy, fun performance.
Consistency from week to week gets her a 9 even though this wasn’t her best offering.

Bucky: Well the Buckster sang/yelled/talked Superstition and dawg, it just wasn’t good for me. Maybe I couldn’t get past the highlighted 70’s hairdo. He was just off. Off in pitch and off in rhythm. All and all I found it to be a pretty bad version of the original.
For some reason I gave him a 6 last night. Maybe I was in shock.

Melissa: Started off a bit out of sync but I’ll cut her some slack because she was battling a sore throat. Just an average performance and there was a lot of those tonight. Another one who gets a 6. I was probably still coming out of the shock of Bucky’s performance when I gave her that.

Lisa: She sang Signed, Sealed, Delivered and I hope she didn’t do the same to her fate. Too low for her voice, the whole performance seemed forced and unnatural. She did nail the ending though and looked marvelous. Her appearance seems to change week to week and always for the better. I gave her a 7 but I’m not sure why.

Kevin: He must go! I don’t dislike him but he must go. His performance was really bad and he must go. The cute factor is wearing thin and he must go. He gets a 5.

Katharine: Guess it’s been no secret that I have found her over bearing in her interviews and mechanical on stage so cut me a piece of that humble pie while I rave about her rendition of Till you come back to me. Amazing vocals all the way through and the best stage presence I’ve seen her with so far. I still find her having a bit of a weird delivery though but, at least after last night’s performance, I find myself thinking who cares?
Great song choice too and she gets a 9

Taylor: The drugs must have worked! Taylor was downright sedate last night which allowed me to really absorb his fantastic vocals. Just enough Taylorisms to enhance the song rather than detract from it.
Certainly one of his best offerings so far and, wow, did he look sharp! Taylor gets the one and only 10 of the night.

Paris: That was a song, right? What I did hear was lots of screaming and yeah, yeah’s but very little singing. I can’t tell how someone is singing if they don’t actually do any of it. Maybe it was the song itself but just looking cute isn’t going to cut it for me in a singing competition. Paris gets the lowest score of the night with a 4 because she didn’t actually perform until she was with Ryan during the exit interview.

Chris: An OK performance. Can someone give Chris a happy pill? He always looks upset when he’s singing. Just like I’ve found Taylor’s spastic outbursts distracting, I find Chris’ lack of expression the same. His performance worked better for me when I had my eyes closed. Chris gets an 8.

Gedeon: Oh that’s right, Gedeon is gone but, gee, I bet he would have nailed a Stevie Wonder song!

I so hope that Kevin is sent home. I don't see anything cute about him at all. He has become arrogant and I can't stand to look or listen to him. My 11 and 13 year old daughters think he's adorable though. ugh. I was with Simon on almost every one tonight. I was so glad when he said that Kevin was appalling. He BUTCHERED that song! I was afraid they were all going to keep pinching his cheeks and filling his head with hot air. My favorites are Taylor and Chris. I tried for about a half hour but couldn't get through for either one. I gave up and went to bed.

Ace- Cant you go home tonight? Please.

Kellie- The moment I saw here on stage I thought of a new nickname Carrie Understudy. It was all kinds of bad, and her interaction with Stevie Wonder was terrible.. do I really sound like I;m from England? IDIOT! She did not appreciate meeting Stevie at all.

Elliot- Not his best. The white disco like suit was an interesting fashion choice. He could have done better with a different song,but he did it well

Mandisa- Good rendition of a terrible song. As a woman with big feet, I can't do the cute shoes either. I really saw her personality.

Bucky- Again, he didn't really seem to appreciate Stevie, but admitted that he didn't know him. He was more gracious than Kellie with the interaction. That being said--and I have not been a fan of his, he did a decent job. I think he'll stay around for next week, but it will be close



Melissa- I loved the dress- DH did too for that matter. Decent rendition but not out of the park.

Lisa- Now she finally looks like a 16 year old. She was only ok though.

Kevin I know you will use AI for "girlfriends" for years to come. Did you notice the fans with the sign were only about 10 years old? Do us all a favor and go home Kevin. You are not, will not and can not be a sex symbol. Being cocky to the judges does not help (see Gedeon)

Katherine- Very ugly dress, pretty song. I'm biased, my daughter has similiar facial structure and coloring.

Taylor- Interesting song.. dance moves were funny

Paris- Sweetie, you can go home as well.

Chris- You are my TV boyfriend so I can say this. Sweetie, that was a RHCp copy. You were darn lucky there was a Stevie song in your 90's rock repetoire. I know the RHCP version, and while your version was good, it wasn't really yours. I still voted for you though. You found a 90 s version of this song, but what about 50s night or Barry Manilow night, or heck even showtunes night (well you could do the Meatloaf song on the Rocky Horror Picture show soundtrack)

You did it well.

I really liked Katharine (beautiful, gorgeous and a lot of vocal dexterity) , Taylor(fun and soulful) , Chris(star quality) and Paris (awesome pipes) tonight. I love Elliots voice but he could have done other stevie songs a lot better that the one he chose. I also like Mandisa but thought the song choice was poor.
