American Idol, Season 5 **Official Discussion Thread**

he was also the guy that said if he had to stand next to the clay guy for another minute he was going to go crazy, not sure yet if he went to Hollywood.

I remember him because I was agreeing with him! That Clay-like guy was annoying - I could not have standed being around him either.

Well all I can say is I'm glad we are in Hollywood tomorrow. I've been very dissappointed with the audition shows...way too many bad people and not enough of the good. Plus too much other stuff thrown in, like tonights show where they were showing where people worked!

if you are interested in a spoiler check this out. Some guy found 48 domains names registered with the company idol uses and they just happen to be all of this seasons auditioner... I think someone slipped!

I couldn't help myself, I had to check it out! Most of the names I didn't recognize, which is not to say I don't remember THEM, just can't connect the name to the face (or voice). There were only 5 that I actually knew who they were, and I was not surprised on any of them. I have a question, though:
Does anyone remember the names of these two guys?
1.) Gray hair, reminded me of Michael McDonald
2.) Bald cowboy whose wife said she just wanted him to have his dream come true because he had taken in her and her 3 kids.

I am dying to know if either or both of them got in! Can anyone help?

I can't remember their names either. But weren't 2 of the names the twins that were arrested? Does that mean they will be there for Hollywood, make it through and maybe then get booted off because of being arrested? Hollywood, until we start calling is taped right? How soon I forget how this show works from season to season!

Brittenum, they were arrested then signed a contract with death row records or someone like that and they are on the list of 48 names registered - Interesting.

OMG! i am sooo over these auditions, THANK GOD that we are starting Hollywood week today!

Anyone notice that every year when they interview the judges on talk shows they ALWAYS say "this year is better than the last" i mean what else could they say?!

Anyone have any faves so far? or anyone who just pulled at your heart?>

that little cowboy was too cute!

Exactly - It kind of annoys me that they always ask how this season will be - what are they going to say? "Um, actually this season isn't all that great..." Please...

And I'm with all of you, thank goodness we made it to Hollywood, maybe we'll be able to escape some of the cheesy music montages for an episode... ;)

I loved that one girl who's aunt was a motown singer - she was by far the best audition they showed...wish I could remember her name now though...oy me and my declining memory (that's what college does to you...)

I usually don't start establishing favorites until they get to Hollywood. First, we haven't heard them all and second, it's hard to remember the names of all the ones we have seen.

I think her name was Paris Bennett, but I'm not sure. She had wonderful control.

I liked Kelly Pickler, the 19-year old from the small town in North Carolina who worked as a roller skating waitress and lived with her grandfather because her father was in prison a lot and her mother abandoned her at two.

I also liked the girl at the Denver audition with long wavy hair. I think she was either 16 or 17 and she was from Anaheim. Great voice. Cannot remember her name, though.

I also liked the Wyoming cowboy kid as well; he was sweet. I just worry that Hollywood may eat him alive!!

I know who you mean, but I can't think of his name. Hopefully we'll see him tonight.

I think you're talking about 16 yr old Lisa Tucker, she was very good!

1- Taylor Hicks (if he does make it all the way, he very possibly could be this year's VFTW candidate. He isn't bad, but he isn't the most marketable looking contestant considering he looks like 10-20 years older than he is)

2- Chris Daughtry

Won't reveal spoilers, but look at that list again and you'll be able to see if their names are on it or not.

That list from the link pretty much matches the top 48 list I've seen. But remember, half of those people won't make it to the semi-final (voting) rounds. I've heard rumblings of a couple possible people who have made it to the top 24, but it very well could be wrong.

I'm just glad we made it to the Hollywood episodes, they are my favorite!!!!

I actually kept notes. :teeth: For the most part though, I didn't put their names down, just descriptions. Anyway, here are my favorites.

The 18 yo belly dancer who looked about 12 years old.

The female councilor at a corrections facility who sang Red Neck Woman.

The woman who appeared right after the twins who got arrested and sang Falling.

In Boston there was another young guy who sang You Raise Me Up.

The 16 yo guy that appeared in one of the first auditions.

And my top three:

Kelly Pickler (sp?) The blond country singer.

The Undertaker. He sang You Raise Me Up. :lmao: to his song choice but not his voice.

The guy with gray hair with the raspy voice. Be still my heart!
