Wow- I did not get to see the show, but Will and Ayla are both gone? That's it, I am boycotting this show. I really liked both of these contestants. I don't even care who wins anymore.

For the most part I am OK with the results tonight. For the girls I would ahve rather it been Paris or Melissa gone before Ayla...but it is still a pretty good top 6 girls.

For the guys I wish it would have been Bucky out the door tonight. I don't remember a single one of his performances! Gedeon I didn't like his personality, but the boy can sing.

All in all this is going to be the best AI yet...we have so many good ones it's going to be hard to choose a favorite...I have way too many that I would like to win!

Well...what is America thinking with this Kevin thing??? My DD's took Gedeon's release hard...we weren't expecting that. And I felt worse about Ayla than I expected to...probably the mom in me just felt so bad but she held it together which is not easy to do. I knew it would be Ayla or Melissa (just didn't buy the Lisa thing), but was hoping for Melissa. Anyway, should be a fun group to watch once we get rid of a few!

OK, now do you believe that Ayla had passion for this??? She's an awesome kid and an amazing role model, unfortunately the rest of the world won't get the chance to enjoy her for now but just you wait. She is a girl with so much ambition and drive you will see her doing great things in the future. As far as singing goes, even Randy thought she was better than Melissa. She is indeed fortunate that she has so many options ahead of her right now which sadly is more than you can say for most of the top six girls. Why are driven focused people so resented by our society but ditzy "pop tarts" are worshiped! Just as an aside, do you all notice how ditzy and Kellie like Katherine is acting these past two weeks. It seems like she has caught on that the ditzy bit plays "big time" and makes you more likable. What is this world coming to?

I don't know Kelly, but trust me... piedmont section of NC is full of little towns that are full of girls just like her. Sweet as can be

Whohooo! I was hoping those 4 were booted. A big relief that Ayla is gone and I couldn't stand Gideon either. The final 12 are a good pick.

I honestly don't know how much stock I would put into that article. It seemed whoever wrote it was in a rag session and wanted to either pick apart all the contestants.

Personally I think Kellie is genuinely ditsy. So far I do like her, but I do not feel she will go all the way to the end and IMHO does not compare to Carrie, but I think that will either help or hinder her in the end.

I think that Kellie is hard to figure out. I wouldn't go to VFTW for an unbiased view though. They will only present one side to make their case and not anything in her favor.

Besides, it's all supposed to be based on singing ability and stage presence so really who cares what those people think? But I still can't make up my mind about Kellie.

Yeah, she seems genuinely ditzy to me too. Can anyone act THAT airy?? Then again, Jessica Simpson comes to mind....lol.

Well Kellie will botch it up next week during Stevie Wonder week, so this may be the last time we see her.

I bet you will see her do a hackneyed trite version with a southern drawl that will go something like this

"EYe jahust call-ed to saye I larve you"

Bucky in his country genre, will have a hard time as well.

Elliott will swing through, Mandisa will bring it home, Katherine will do ok, Paris and Lisa will do it well also. I can see Taylor singing Superstition.

I felt sorry for Gedeon. What a strong young man he is. For a 17 year old who just lost his dad in December, he sure is mature and has such strong religious convictions. He certainly has a wonderful career in front of him though. He has such musicality at that age it is amazing. His phrasing in that song was wonderful, never mind his pipes!!!

I'm sad that Ayla is gone but she wouldn't have lasted much longer.

It was interesting to watch how terrified some of the contestants were. When they panned onto the guys for the second one eliminated, Ace looked like he was going to vomit. He was sitting in Ayla's seat. I would imagine that he was some relieved when Ryan got to him right away. It looks like this group of guys has really bonded. It also looks like Kevin respects these older guys and the feeling is guite mutual.

Next week should be interesting. The theme would have been perfect for Gedeon. We'll see what the others can do with it! It is getting rather overdone though.

I agree with everything you said about Gedeon. I hope we see him soon doing his thing.

I was in work and I was having a really bad day, so when I called my mom I asked for good news...of course I didn't get any. I just don't understand how Will didn't make it! I was sure he had the teenage vote! And I honestly thought he was the 3rd or 4th best guy (with Taylor and Chris being better than him). He may have chosen a crappy song this week, but I really think he has an amazing voice. And now we don't get to hear him on the tour or on the cd. I don't understand how someone like Bucky got more votes then him.

And Ayla, I can't believe Melissa made it over her! And it makes me so sad that she was crying after she found out she didn't make it. She definitely deserved to be in the top 12.

At least I was happy about the other 2 who got voted off. I really didn't like Gedeon and I'm glad at least Kevin made it instead of him. And Kinnik was pretty bad. I didn't have anything against her, but I liked all of the other girls too much (except for Melissa).

Well anyways, I'm happy with the rest of the top 12. I hope Bucky and Melissa are the first two voted off, that way everyone I like will be on the tour!

Well I just got through watching it. It took everything in me not to come check out this thread to see who got knocked off earlier in the night. I have to say I was shocked by Ayla. I guess that dial on idol got it 3/4ths right. I have to say I was thrilled Melissa is in the top 12. Eat that Simon!!!

I was happy with the results.

I'm rooting for-

Mandisa- Great voice and personality.
Bucky- I love him because he's just Bucky and I also think he has a great voice.
Taylor- I love him because he's a total spaz! He has an incredible voice too.

The thing that bugs me about Kellie, is that to me it all just seems like an act. She just seems really phoney to me. Its almost like she is smarter and shrewder than she pretends to be but has decided to come onto AI playing the character of a naive bumpkin. Of course this is just my opinion, but there is something about her that I don't trust.

I'm happy with 3/4 of the boots tonight. Will should still be in the competiton, he actually has a really good voice but I think a combination of song selection and the judges not warming up to him hurt his chances. And while I really want Lisa gone, I'm fine with Ayla gone, but I actually felt bad for her trying to hold back the tears.

I'm ecstatic Melissa is in the top 12! Unofrtunately she'll be the first or second gone.

Ruben the best singer? I don't think so. I think the public has proven that out. How much have we heard from Ruben as opposed to Clay since season 2? And you have to be kidding about AI failing in Season 1. Hello? Can you say Grammy? That doesn't get awarded by giggling teenagers, but by musical peers.

I actually have Rubens CD....its fairly good but he did have a better voice than Clay...did he appeal to the puplic thats gonna kepp him going for years no probably not but he was a tremendous vocal talent...As for season 1 I am not knocking Kelly at all, she has done well but....the gal that got voted out early 3rd or 4th she was a black girl had the better voice....and should have been in the finals over Justin easily...Justin rode the same vote Ace is gonna ride till the end probably...But kelly has done great not putting her down at all....

Unless you listen to Urban Gospel you will not hear Ruben, just as I don't hear Clay, Carrie, or Bo because it's what we mostly listen to. (you'd have to be DEAD not to hear Kelly Clarkson because she is EVERYWHERE)

I loved his single "I Need An Angel", it was a big change from the singles he put out immediately after AI. He, just like most of the idols, narrowed his audience and marketed himself at that demographic.

correct...he is a great talent....and I wish he would put out a albumof Ballads....sorta luther Vandross type stuff, Keith Sweat....that would be great

I don't know if Kellie is for real or not, but I have no reason to doubt her. She reminds me of my neice, very pretty, sweet, ditzy and country. I'm sure she's never had calimari or salmon. For that matter, neither have I even though I am definitely not a country girl and not even from NC. I do know a lot of people in this area who have been fairly sheltered and probably, to many, would come across as country bumpkins. To me, though, there just very natural "down home" people who are friendly and don't put on airs. Bucky is the same.
