For those of you upset at Taylor and think he was rude at the results show by picking between the two groups of contestants:

"Don't think Taylor picking the "safe" group was of his own accord. During the commercial break, Executive Producer, Nigel Lythgoe, filled Taylor in on the fake-out handshake to Chris Daughtry and which group to choose. It turns out Nigel doesn't know who is going to be eliminated. He is kept in the dark until the very end. The only thing he knows is which three contestants are in the bottom three. He let out a huge gasp when Ace's name was called."


This kind of bothers me. It's pretty certain that Taylor isn't the producers first pick for a winner this year and they probably couldn't have predicted his popularity. The man is ruling the dialidol results every week. I wonder if they thought this might put a damper on his popularity and bolster Chris's sagging popularity?

Did anyone notice the former American Idol contestant on the Miss USA pageant tonight?

Lisa Wilson, who was on AI season 3, represented the state of Georgia. She made the Top 32 that season. She partied a lot in Hollywood (mostly in a hot tub) and did not perform well in her group. She sang "Come to my Window". Simon commented that he had never seen someone open their mouth so wide when singing.

She is a very pretty girl. They said that she is working on recording an album now.

I think Chris should sing I Don't Want to Miss a Thing by Aerosmith. He could even scream a little in the middle like Steve Tyler does.

Ummm.... could be just me, but I think they are doing CLASSIC love songs... I don't think we'll be seeing Beth, Every Thing I Do, or anything at all like that....

I think we'll be hearing things "like" Sinatra, Etta James, even ( ) Celine Dion, or Harry Connick Jr....... NOTHING with a rock sound at all. I mean that is why they are bringing in Bocelli, right?

I can't imagine him "coaching" them to do a U2 song, or a KISS song, or an Aerosmith song.... JMO.

You're probably right but it would be cool for them to be able to do something a bit more current and varied.

Lauri had come up with the perfect song for Katharine too - "I'll Stand By You" by The Pretenders. Although if she screwed it up, Lauri said she would have to gauge out her ears with a phillips head screwdriver because it's her 2nd favorite love song and sacred..lol

I was kind of suprised (and disappointed) when I heard what this week's theme would be as I felt like last week's episode was mainly slow songs and thought they should get back to something more upbeat. When I hear "Classic Love Songs", I'm thinking nice...but boring. Of course, I'll be the first to admit that I was surprised with the last show, so hopefully this next one will be the same way.
