Okay, loved it when Simon snarked on Ryan by subtly poking fun at the fact that he is dating Teri Hatcher

I'm so disappointed in Taylor. I guess everyone has an off night, but he really phoned that one in all the way from West Virginia.

Although.. all of them have stunk so far. 2 bad weeks in a row. *sigh*

And Paris.. pick a note.

That song may have sounded better with Elliott singing it- a different take on it with a male voice.

my three favorites were on first! so i can stop watching now....especially since i don't enjoy most modern country music okay, maybe i'll listen from the other room....
i agree with damo - bad choice for taylor. he seemed uncomfortable on stage, uncomfortable with the song, uncomfortable in that suit. too bad, i really like him, and hope he makes it through - if dialidol is right, he has a huge fan base, so hopefully he'll be ok.
mandisa was good, didn't like the song much, but i think she chose a good song to show that she doesn't have to be all screamy all the time (don't get me wrong...i don't mind it when she's screamy! i think she's great!)
ELLIOTT is my official favorite this year (now that ol' kev is gone) what a voice! again, don't like the song, but thought he sounded great as usual. i hope he makes it far, i look forward to seeing him week after week.
oooh i hear people booing paula and cheering simon - wonder what's going on guess i should get back in the living room!

There are two totally different versions of the original out there. Trisha & LeAnn both released the originals. I liked Trisha's version much better than LeAnn's at first but have warmed up to it over the years.

Yes, that is a country song...currently on the charts. I couldn't look at the TV when Ace started singing...thought that might give him more of a chance for me to like his singing. That didn't help. After the first line or two he lost it. Ruined the end!

Phew, Ace did a good job. I would have left out the falsetto though. I hope he can stay in for one more week. Country suits him...simply melody...cheesy lyrics. I liked Kenny Rogers' comment.

I like Paris's new look. I thought she sounded better than Randy or Paula thought but not as good as Simon thought. I just thought it was a little low.

Taylor...why John Denver? Not a good choice and I agree he did not look comfortable.

Mandisa...she shoudl have sang my pick of a Shania song..."Man I feel like a Woman" way spunkier (is that a word) of a song and I think it would have been so much better for her.

Elliot...Good song from Garth Brooks, enjoyed Elliot's performance.


Paris...not good at all for me. I think that song is so well known with Trisha and Lee Ann that no one would sound good doing it.

Ace...loved his song tonight! Doesn't help that when Keith Urban sings that song my heart melts.

I agree completely. Simon hates the genre (and honestly, no one is ever really good in the genre), so why do they do it?

I have to disagree. There have been several who have done country very well....

Kelly Clarkson ( who told you up front that she wanted to do country... Reba is her idol ).

I always forget her name... wait, Amy, the girl with the died red haiir, she killed doing country.

Ruben... doing Sweet Home Alabama was awesome!

And even though I couldn't stand him, I think, Clay did it well, if I remember correctly.

Oh, and Kimberly Locke did fine too.

And " Pickles" is pretty good at it ( usually ).

Boy, these are some stinky perfomances again tonight.

"How Do I Live" is a tough song... Paris wasn't great, but she gave it a good try. Trisha's version is more vulnerable, LeAnn's more power blasting. Paris tried to shoot somewhere in the middle.

Ace did finally choose a good song, but it wasn't really anything memorable enough to help him out.

Elliot's "If Tomorrow Never Comes" should have been a lot better. That's a GREAT tearjerker song when Garth does it, but Elliot put zero emotion into it.

Kellie's showing good attitude and sass with "Fancy". Don't care much for her, but at last a good performance tonight.
