I bet they sounded better!!!!

Well they were all in the same key :teeth:

I haven't seen them that fascinated with a particular song since we were watching our Muppet show CD and there was this old episode with Florence Henderson (I think) - but she was singing this song about butterflies and they were absolutely hypnotized by it. All of them were hanging on the side of the cage facing the TV and stone silent staring at Mrs Brady in a horrible 70's outfit singing about butterflies. :rotfl2:

Gee, once AGAIN Simon feels the need to remind us that he hates country music. We GET it, Cowell, but it shouldn't matter! SO SHADDUP!
Yea Simon.....Bucky us up......Not bad...Don;t recognize this song either. :confused3

Here are the lyrics if you missed the words.

"Bringing Out The Elvis"

You're bringing out the Elvis in me
You're bringing out the Elvis in me

Just like a fossil
Frozen in time I could not move
My heart, my soul, my feet
Then you unearthed me
And put me in a hot pulsating groove
Now I'm a slave to the beat

You're bringing out the Elvis in me
Making my hips want to swing
You bring out the Elvis in me
Making me burst out and sing

When I'm with you
I never have to feel like a sardine
In a little metal can
I'm more like a wild shark
That travels in a pink limosuine, yeah
Yeah, together with my fans

You're bringing out the Elvis in me
Making my hips want to swing
You bring out the Elvis in me
Making me burst out and sing, oh yeah

People think I'm a silly fool
Because I think you are so nice and cool
And some people say
You're so square
But I don't care
You're bringing out the Elvis in me
You're bringing out the Elvis in me

You're bringing out the Elvis in me
Making my hips want to swing
You bring out the Elvis in me
Making me burst out and sing
You're bringing out the Elvis in me

:rotfl: OMG

If this is any indication, when Bucky started singing all 6 of them shut up, turned their backs to the tv and started preening their feathers. :lmao:

I have to disagree. There have been several who have done country very well....

Kelly Clarkson ( who told you up front that she wanted to do country... Reba is her idol ).

Josh Gracin.... obviously

Diana Degarmo

I always forget her name... wait, Amy, the girl with the died red haiir, she killed doing country.

Ruben... doing Sweet Home Alabama was awesome!

And even though I couldn't stand him, I think, Clay did it well, if I remember correctly.

Probably more, too.

Oh, and Kimberly Locke did fine too.

And " Pickles" is pretty good at it ( usually ).

I admit that I actually like Josh Gracin. Ruben's Sweet Home Alabama was pretty good...and I honestly don't remember the others.

Still, I watch Nashville Star, too, and these Idol contestants pale in comparison to those guys on that show. Personally, unless these AI folks are "country" singers, I don't think that they do a real good job.

Chris and Katharine were both good. Katharine does well with the blues and she is getting much more comfortable in front of a crowd.

The song Chris sang is the same song he sang to his wife at their wedding.

AWWWW!!!!! No wonder he sounded so good. :)

Now I know what I hated about Taylors performance so much... the darn backup singer was on a bad key to compliment his voice and it left him flat. I wish the backup singers would.. well.. backup!

You know, I missed Taylor in the beginning but I think the backup singers ruined the song for him now seeing the clips- maybe he would have sounded better by himself? :confused3

I've never cared for Elliott. Until tonight. I thought he did very well.
Kellie, perfect song for her but still don't care for her.
Chris, bout damn time baby. See? You can sing without that vein in your forehead popping.
Katherine...eh
Nobody else did it for me, not even Mandisa.

First week ever that I didn't hate Katharine!

Hmm...Getting a mild case of the McPheever, huh? ;)

Personally, I thought she sounded great.

I didn't care for Bucky this week either. He swallows some of his words. It was not as bad this week as last week's song but he really needs to work on that. I just don't like his voice.

Taylor did sound flat. :( The playback made it worse after hearing the good ones.

wow, i won't be voting for bucky tonight (my man elliott needs all the votes i can give him!) but i'll be surprised if he goes home after that performance. i thought it was very touching and well done. :thumbsup2

I like Bucky best when he doesn't sing country, go figure. I couldn't understand him at all this week.

Taylor, Mandisa and Bucky weren't as good as they usually are.

Ace, Kellie, Katharine and Elliott were better than they usually are.

Chris and Paris were their usually consistent selves.
