Personal preference. The people who sound best to you, do not sound best to everyone.
ITA. Who sounds the best is completely subjective and what sounds good to one person may sound horrible to someone else.

HUH? :rotfl2: I think people may have different "taste" when it comes to music and while I don't really like say......Josh Groban--I totally recognize that he "sounds good". I don't think anyone can think he "sounds horrible" only that perhaps they don't like his particular type of voice.

I was very shocked by Simon's comment to Katharine...maybe that was the shocker for tonight!

He said after watching the show over her performance wasn't all that good. That just confirms that they sound different in person than they do over the TV.

If I had been referring to Josh Groban, I could see your point. I am referring to a group of amateur singers, none of whom sound "bad" but some may sound better than others to different people. I don't see why that's so "huh" as you put it. :confused3

Hmm but what about Fantasia? I'm sure everyone here could agree that you either thought she was amazing or you thought she sounded horrible. Obviously some people liked her enough to vote for her and made her win. But many others, like myself, thought her voice was horrible.

I could've written this post myself--I TOTALLY agree. There is no way in heck that Katherine should've been in the bottom 3. IMO she and Chris are definitely the best by a long shot. They truly have good voices and know how to use them.

Yep,Yep. ITA. :thumbsup2 I am so glad to see Lisa gone.

I didn't like her voice at all, but I didn't think it was horrible. I could see, however, that some people (like my son) did think it was horrible, but I thought it was mostly because he didn't like her so much either. Point taken. ;)

Personally I liked her for her infectious personality. At least for me it was.

I agree. She (Lisa) is not my favorite, but I definitely like both her voice (usually), style, and personality. Despite her experience with the Lion King, etc., she was probably just a little too young for this competition.

Maybe it won't be necessary to be rude next time. :confused3

Rude? I don't believe I was rude. I think being rude is quite subjective, however, and I'm sorry if you thought I was.

Lisa and Ace in the bottom three was correct. Katherine should not have been there. People are voting for favorites over talent. Ace in my view is horrible. He should be gone next week. Paris could go next. She does nothing for me. I like Bucky but he is another one that gets sympathy votes. So does Kelly. I guess next week I will have to focus on Katherine. Her and Chris are my pick for the last two.

I thought I read you think people are voting for favorites over talent?....then why would you want Paris to go....She is better than Ace, Elliott, Bucky and Kellie....I love Kellie but Paris is a better singer....

I hated her voice....the fact is I dont remember anyone else that year is the problem....I think she might have been the best in a bunch of weak singers....I might be wrong if I can remember anyone else from that season....I dont remeber who she beat was it Degarmo?

Yes, she beat Diana Degarmo. I don't even know how she made it to second. Diana probably had the better voice out of the two, but her personality just bugged me. That season was definitely the worst season of all and I think the only person who really deserved to win was Latoya. After she was voted off it was just ridiculous to watch.

Yup... SSB agrees with his great friend here.... :)

Well, I was surprised by Katharine's presence, but not too worried. I personally liked Lisa alot and I thought she handled herself very well tonight. I think if she had been sent home even a few weeks ago she would not have been able to hold herself together...she was prepared and composed. Definitely a growing experience for her!

(However...I wish it had been Ace or Kellie!)

Lisa is gone as we all predicted nut I was pretty shocked to see Katherine as second to last. She was NOT second worst of the evening. Hopefully next week will be *shudder* better (ewwwwwwww...country.)

Why assume that Bucky gets sympathy votes? Maybe people are voting for him because he appeals to them and they like him? Frankly, I thought Katherine sounded really bad. That could be because I really like that particular Christina Aguilera song, but I thought she blew it. That and perhaps her stand-offish personality is what landed her in the bottom three. If you ever heard Tim McGraws version of the song Bucky sang last night, you'd see that he nailed it! I thought the best last night was Paris - I liked her version of "Work it Out" better than Beyonce's! Tayler was awesome too. I think tonights bottom three all deserve to be there.

So because you don't like Bucky that means anyone that does is only voting for him as a sympathy vote? That doesn't even make any sense. I didn't vote for Katherine because I thought she was terrible, even Simon said on playback she wasn't good. I like Bucky, I like his voice and his personality so therefore I vote for him.

I know this is a week late, but I just listened to Live's version of "I Walk the Line", and quite frankly, while I live Live, Chris's version blew it outta the water. There are similarities, but Chris DID make it his own.

BTW, why Simon's reversal on Chris sticking to his guns this week? Easy answer... Simon had NEVER heard Live's version, and was called on it, for giving Chris so much praise last week.... when he found out, it was Simon's way to save a little face, IMO.

Sympathy votes? :lmao: :lmao: Maybe if you were voting but believe it or not-Bucky is liked and to some he sounds good!! There are some that you may like that others think :crazy2:

Bucky is here because he deserves to be. :cheer2: :cheer2: With next week being country look for him to still be here again!! :teeth:
