My true mystery is KELLIE??? :confused3 Oh, I forgot, it's the Papa Deuce's of the world who think that's CUTE!! ::running and ducking::

Mine, too :teeth:. With her I think I've decided it mostly boils down to country music appeal and sex appeal. Neither of which lures me into the Kellie camp.

Same here. It's not her looks (for whomever said people are jealous.) Like I have said, I liked her at first. I think she just knocks women down a notch. The other day Oprah had Pink on her show and she talked about her new song 'Stupid Girl.' The whole show was about how women are being seen more and more as objects, and you have to play dumb and look perfect to be seen as cool or fitting into society. I really see it as being true more and more in our society, and, being an educated young woman, it really bothers me. I truly think Kellie's whole thing is a lot of acting. I'm sure she really is clueless about some of the things she is saying, but the fact that she giggles and makes that cutesy face all the time after she says something 'dumb' shows that she knows what she's doing.

I have no idea if it's real or not but it seems as contrived and exxagerated as the day is long. If it IS real, then God bless her soul. What bugs the heck out of me is that it WORKS! I sort of wish she was as quiet as her brother!

That's what I believe too. I never really paid her much attention in the beginning, there were so many more talented people. I was surprised by her popularity, after Carrie Underwood won it last season, this girl seemed pale in comparison. But every week I am more and more convinced she knows what she is doing and she is definitely targeting the male voters with sex appeal, and hoping to target the female voters with sweetness and ignorance of her sex appeal. Yeh, right  Anyway, this week she did the stiletto heels and black leather...every mans dream and then jumps on the riser and squats with a little pelvic thrust. I'm going...oh give me a break! So Wednesday my co-worker who doesn't care for Kellies music but loves to watch her, finds her very sexy comes in and says "Kellie was pretty good last night". I said, Yeh, every man in America is going to think that after she tried to sexually entice them. He asked what I was taking about. I told him about the sex move while she was squatting and he didn't believe me. So he went home and watched his Tivo, and came back and said, "Oh yeah...you were right, that was definitely a sex move!" while he was grinning from ear to ear. Duh! :smooth:

I cried when Bucky got voted off last night. I'm such a sap! Seriously, I'm gonna miss him more than any other contenstant on the show! I thought this week was his best week, and he should have earned another week. He was so gracious about leaving though, with his comment "Somebody's gotta go...". Coming from such a poor background, and being the constant underdog, he made the biggest transformation and I really hope that he makes it big! Good luck Buck!

Sex move? I am not one of her fans but I would not read so much into her. Even if she is acting stupid to further her stay on the show I doubt she is going to win. Who cares if she has a country accent and plays it up. You do what you have to do. Her time will be coming to an end. Let her have her fifteen minutes of fame.

Was it portrayed somewhere that he came from a poor background? I missed that.

The scary thing is that people are saying that the category next week will be Rod Stewart classic STANDARDS. Somehow, I can't see Chris singing a song like My Funny Little Valentine.
I agree. Why not open it up to ANY Rod Stewart song? There are lots of great ones to choose from, and I'd personally prefer to hear Rod's rock stuff.

I've read it on various boards from people claiming to know them or his family personally. His town gathered up money so that his wife could fly out to see him in L.A.

no, she definitely did the air hump for a few seconds!

I saw that! I was like NO SHE DIDN'T!!! Yes she did. Personally I'd like to see her go, and soon.

I happen to like Kellie, and I'm not a man, nor would I consider myself dumb or portrayed that way. I would venture to guess that she has the Country fans rooting for her more than people think. If I'm going to vote for someone to win, it may as well be in the genre I personally would buy music from. I also, without having met her to make a different judgement, happen to think she is sweet. If liking Kellie makes me ignorant or dumb, then so be it. I happen to like the fact that I can be entertained by her every week, whether it's her singing or just plain having fun with the show itself.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :sad2:

You'll NEVER EVER convince me that America voted Bucky off last night - it's "the powers that be" and they know exactly who's leaving and when.

If I hear, or even read, the phrase "make the song your own...", I think I'm gonna scream!!!

:furious:

I'm quoting myself :teeth:. I just want to say that I have no problem with Kellie appealing to the country music crowd, even though I do not like country. It's okay for people to like country :).

But I do have a problem with her playing a dumb blonde, if playing is what she is doing. And it seems like she is. That is where she is different from Carrie Underwood, whose music style I just didn't like. Carrie's naivete came across as genuine at least.

My two cents...

Bucky seems like a very nice and gracious guy...but I really don't think he's talented enough to do more than front a local band.

I can't believe Kellie said "snot rag" on television. Snot rag. ewww. She is not the classiest girl I've ever seen...that's for sure. She really does come across dumb as a door knob...and act or no act it gets on my nerves.

As far as Bucky being from a "poor background" based on the fact that his town collected money to fly his wife out there to see him. Well...I don't consider myself poor. We probably fall into the "middle" middle class. But I certainly couldn't afford to drop everything and buy a ticket to LA and stay there for a week (or a few days or whatever). I don't think needing help to afford that means he is "poor". Honestly...he is one of the sweetest, most humble people I have ever seen on AI and I am sure he will be just fine back home in Carolina.

I didn't mention that he came from a poor background to be crass. If you read my entire post I didn't base that soley on because his wife couldn't afford to fly to L.A.. I based it on what I've read on multiple message boards, posts written by people who claim to know him and his family personally. Whether it's true or not I can't say for sure. I wasn't putting him down for it. There's no need to feel offended. BTW, I'm a huge Bucky fan!

For all the Bucky and Elliott fans out there:

What a great picture, huh????
