I thought you might notice that comment, Robin

. However, and while I was hinting that the DIS does not really represent the U.S. racially (nor in many other ways) and while you may be thinking the same thing, I can't imagine that it strictly has to do with race. Maybe race is not what you are talking about, and if it is not, I apologize for making that assumption. It is not entirely what I was talking about either.
I know you have worked with older people over the years, and possibly it could be the relatively young age of DISers, too, that causes Paris' kind of old style jazz to not appeal to many here on the DIS. Maybe a lot more older people who happen to prefer that kind of music to rock/pop/country are voting for her. I just don't ever think of a lot of older people are voting, but maybe they are. I like that kind of music, though, and I haven't voted for Paris even though I think she has a wonderful singing voice.
Like a lot of people here, it is her personality and even age that bugs me and makes me not want to vote for her. And while sex appeal never plays much of a role in my voting, unlike some contestants whose popularity I also question, Paris doesn't even really have that going for her - maybe because of her young age.
Back to the race thing. . .A lot of black people listen to music by white people and vote for white people on Idol, and a lot of white people listen to music by black people and vote for black people on Idol. In fact, LOTS of people here on the DIS loved and voted for Mandisa. Maybe the mystery group of people who is voting for Paris did not
