I've been trying to imagine Bucky or someone doing a Blake Shelton song next week mainly because I'm such a big Blake Shelton fan. I don't suppose that AI would allow Some Beach.

What about Flirtin' With Disaster for Chris or is that not country enough? Molly Hatchett was of course southern rock like Lynyrd Skynyrd but I'm not sure about that song.

Too popular and there would be the comparison stuff going on. First we'd hear from the judges that they have to make it their own...then when they do we'd hear that it was such a popular song for that artists that they shouldn't have tried to change it up.

Elliot - Tell Me I Was Dreaming by Travis Tritt
Bucky - Best I Ever Had by Gary Allen or You'll Think of Me by Keith Urban
Ace - Amazed by Lonestar
Mandisa - Cry or There Will Come a Day by Faith Hill

I thought of one for Mandisa while grocery shopping today. (thats really pathetic when you think about it)

Bucky I think would do great with Best I Ever Had.

I've changed my mind on Chris though...Shameless might be too rock for him to do. So I think he should do a ballad of some sort.

i just have to say that i'm sitting here listening to the mp3 of "heaven" by elliott yamin that i downloaded, with a big grin on my face. i think this is my favorite performance so far this season. i like it better than the original because of the way he sings the word "believe" in the line "i'm finding it hard to believe" - he adds a little spin to it that is just beautiful. i know he's not going to win, but i hope he survives country week. i always look forward to him, his voice gives me chills!

Chris could do some Bochepus, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, or Toby Keith. They all have a rock edge in certain songs. I would love to see Kellie sing Judds songs. As for the rest Country has so many great songs and singers I am sure someone will find a song they can do. Maybe Taylor will sing Georgia on My Mind since it is country. One can only hope.

I think most of the idols have pretty much stayed in their little boxes. I don't see why they should venture out. Is Chris going to put out an album of country, 50's, Stevie Wonder, Gospel, hip hop, polka, standards, broadway? Not likely, so why even go there. I like it when they stay in their comfort zone.

What the heck is Chris going to do with the Idol song???? He could borrow this year's Canadian Idol, Idol song. He really could rock it up.

Woo Hoo!!! I've been on a wait list since last season to get tickets to AI. Well today I get an email saying that if I attend the taping of some new celebrity gameshow next week, I can get priority seating tickets to an AI dress rehearsal! I want to go so bad but I don't know if I can get anyone to watch my kids....I'll have to figure something out!
