That would be Taylor.

That would be Fantasia, that would be Elliott, that would Kevin Covais, That would be Bo Bice, that would be Constatine.....see I can do it too

Taylor is fun, entertaining, exciting, he has more stage presence than any one ever on the show, He could care less what people think he just loves to sing and loves music and that comes across on the stage and through the TV, He also loves to perform....oh and he has a great voice...Overrated no I dont think so...I think most deserving out of any contestant ever

See? That's what I mean by "overrated". He is fun, and entertaining for a few minutes at least. However, he's not very exciting (not like Chris). He has no more stage presence than my brother. He does love what he does, no question, but it isn't really all that special -- not Kelly Clarkson special, for instance. And his voice is okay, but surely not as good as many of the other finalists over the years. He surely isn't pitch perfect (though admittedly neither is Katherine).

How in the world was Chris exciting on stage....all he did was stand there and then pick up the mic stand once in a while....to me Chris had no stage presence and I think that was his downfall....at least Katherine does something on stage gets on her kness or whatever....none of them perform ever like Taylor performs....I beg to differ about Taylors voice he has a tremendous voice

Chris is a singer: He creates excitement with his voice. He wasn't playing with singing. I suppose it is the difference between entertaining and artistry.

I cannot believe I'm agreeing with the Dolphin but AMEN.

I loved Chris' voice but couldn't stand the angry cool guy stance he did in every song. That's MY opinion, just like bicker has.... and always has.

I'm glad the vote was shown to be close. This makes this a COMPETITION. Making people think that their favorite was a shoe in will cause complacency, and AI knows that. They HAD to put some kind of fire under the viewers or that finale would've been a bust with such a lopsided competition.

Sorry, this is another Fantasia/Diana match up. I like Kat but she just isn't original enough for me. Clive Davis told her she has to have a identifying sound... I doubt if I'd iever scream while listening to the radio "Hey, that's Katharine!!" like I did with just about every other AI winner. She doesn't have a "sound" that is totally hers.

Man, I guess it pays to be from a small town! Hollywood was just HO HUM about their girl. I always wondered if that would be the same for a NYer, who is so OVER celebrities.... I never even understood why people stand behind their "hometown" idols. I do now. Small towns have a sense of community that large cities don't have much of. I nearly cried during Elliott and Taylor's hometown videos. How PROUD they were of their guys!

I think there is a pretty strong ethic in the big cities to try to fight again anyone getting a free ride for being famous. By contrast, I think outside the big cities, folks view anything that brings any attention their way to be a good thing, to be fostered regardless.

Being from a small town I agree with this....when everyone knows everyone or is cousin to someone we tend to support that person that is about to make it.....take for example on town over, actually you wouldnt know it was a town, Alvin SC...has produced, Courtney Brown DE #1 pick in the NFL draft a few years ago, Pierson Prioleau Saftey now with the Redskins and Joe Hamilton QBwho plays arena ball and was runner up for the Heisman trophy, now Joe has not made it big in the NFL but is doing great in Arena ball for Orlando, but he plays the high profile position of QB so when you enter the town there is a sign "Welcome to Alvin home of Joe Hamilton"....I think its funny because the other 2 are playing and making millions in the NFL and there is no sign for them....but we all still talk about Joe....not sure of my point but just a little how small town life is like....now in my hometown of Bonneau SC I am the biggest celebrity...THE DOLPHIN... :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Wow. I can't believe how close the votes were!!!!!!!
Elliot is really a class act. He was genuinely thankful and gracious! The love that he shows for his family is wonderful. I cried all through his hometown video and goodbye video because his thankfulness was so evident. I hate to see him go, and I hope that he goes a long way. I bet that even those that don't like his singing or his looks will have to agree that he seems to be a genuinely gracious guy!

:thumbsup2 I thought the same thing. I think that the attitude that he demonstrated week after week was positive and genuine. His Mom did a great job raising her son, and he shows such profound admiration for her and her efforts. I really wish that he won.

I'm not so sure. I am from a small town, and it is not the attention that we seek. We really have a sense of community, ans truely do identify with one of our own. You see we know you, or know someone who knows you. And we really want to see one of our own do well, and can recognize the achievement.

In a big city, I think that the sense of community may be diminished because it is harder to identify with any one individual. I hardly think that being recognized for hard work, and then rewarded for the achievement is a "free ride".

I found the home town visits interesting this time. I kind of felt sorry for Kat. She didn't have the masses of people. But heck from LA stars are everywhere.....

I think next week should be interesting. I really like Taylor but could see Kat winning.
I must say it cracks me up how passionate people are about their favorites and if you disagree you must not have a clue! I personally couldn't stand Chris after the 3rd week. First few weeks I was impressed because he wasn't a cookie cutter and different. But then he never broke out of that mold. Now that is fine is you are in the music industry and that is your sound but that isn't fine if you are on a talent show that is set up to show your ability to sing all types of songs.
I too also ? how Taylor will do once he is out in the "real" music world. I totally enjoy watching him on TV but will I like listening to him on the CD player? No clue.
I really loved Bo Bice bought his CD and it is bla.....I hope his next one is better and more his style.
So only time will tell!

So now people know what Kat is thinking? I'm so tired of this bashing! Maybe she was thinking, "oh crap, I'm getting voted off tonight", or "wow Ryan looks hot tonight", or "man, I really have to pee". And if people think that she is stuck up, well look where she was raised? It's freakin' LA!!! Nobody is without attitude there! And sure, her parent's paid the producers to get her this far. And they made her sing so well too! How dare she have a good voice! Whatever, you can vote for Taylor. I like the guy, and have from the beginning. But he is just a good performer, not a great singer. Kat needs work, don't get me wrong. But she has more promise than Taylor, IMHO.

And for the record, if it came down to a Taylor/Chris finale, I would have voted for Chris all the way! :)
\

I totally agree with you - especially about the voting for Chris if he would have made it to the finale!

I found Chris boring from the very beginning. Yep...good voice and consistant, but lots of people have good voices. Heck...I went to Busch Gardens (Williamsburg) last week and the people singing in the shows there sang better than most AI contestants. But not that many people are ENTERTAINERS. Very few can stand on a stage alone and entertain. Taylor is an entertainer and on top of it has a great voice. I just love him. I like Kat...but she's not there yet. I went back and listened to all of her AI perfomances and she was very inconsistant. She either gives me chills (the good kind) or she's really bad. I'm a little surprised she made it all the way to the end even though I voted for her some. But I have to defend her a little...she smiled when Elliott's name was announced last night and I think it was just because she was so releived and happy to not be going home. Isn't that what she's there for? I don't think she was disrespectful at all. Anyway...will be voting my heart out for Taylor next week. Hope he wins!

The problem with Taylor is he brings it all to the camera. His voice is okay but that changes when he is in a studio. His voice will be what people hear. Chris didn't have to dance or make love to the camera. His voice had the edge and that will get him far. He is the only one I could honestly say I would buy his cd. I bet he will far exceed Taylor in the end.

I miss Chris!!! Not too thrilled about this years finale :confused3 . It should've been Chris & Taylor head to head with Chris winning. I can't wait for Chris to do his album. He'll sell millions :thumbsup2 !

Dream on. WHat's a fourth place finisher done yet? Oh, yeah. NOTHING.

In fact, with the exception of Clarkson, I wouldn't say the first place finishers have distinguished themselves either.

And I absolutely cracked up upon hearing that Chris was so universally disliked by the people who worked on the show, there was a rumor that the producers just removed him, instead of actually counting the votes. LOL!
