Very very very worried for Chris

Tried voting but I kept getting busy signals on both his numbers, only got through once..........

Did anyone else laugh when Ryan made the dollar comment to Paula...I have been thinking that all season when they pan the crowd and you see her dancing

Also if Chris is gone Wed night does anyone think Taylor doesnt win this in a landslide....I have always thought Chris would be his toughest competition....If Elliott wins this I will never watch again....I can deal with any of the other three....I think the powers that be will save Chris....Its time Elliott....its just time

I thought Taylor's second song was one of his best ever. In the Ghetto, has always been one of my favorite Elvis songs!

I think that whoever gets the most votes should win. I can't imagine quitting the show because Elliott wins. I stayed after Ruben and Carrie won and I didn't care that much for them.

I'm on the West Coast, so I just finished watching tonight's episode.

Elliott: Of course, Elliott was the best! His second song was better than his first song; I really enjoyed it! I also thought it showed his personality.

Chris: This was not his best night. I am a Chris fan and I'm hoping this does not cause him to get booted tomorrow night.

Taylor: It looked like he was having a ball. His voice is kind of growing on me, I guess. I still have to fast forward most of his songs though; I just don't enjoy him that much.

Catherine: Poor, poor Catherine. I think this was her worst night ever. This is not a time to have a bad night. I think it's her time to go home.

I got in about 12 votes for Elliott. Phone lines were very busy for him.

Man, Paula is really starting to sound like a lush!

I think all in all...tonight was a really good night. I loved how they were able to put their own little spin on their Elvis song.

Taylor - I liked both of his songs. But I think "In the Ghetto" was better than his first, "Jailhouse Rock." But Jailhouse was still fun to listen too, seeing how Taylor was able to add his own little dose of "Soul Patrol" to it.

Chris - Again I liked both of his songs, but for Chris I liked his first song, "Suspicious Minds" more than his second one "A Little Less Conversation." For me their was just something missing from the second one, just can't put my finger on what it was.

Elliott - Elliot was a shock for me tonight. I thought he did quite well tonight. I think his first song was better than his second. But for me I just can not get over his overly present vibrato in his voice when he sings. For me it is distracting.

Katharine - Now I am a fan of Kat, but tonight was not her night. I don't think she did well in either song. I think she should have looked back over Elvis' catalog and picked a different song for her first song, instead of combining two songs. I was interesting, but not great.

I only voted for Taylor and Chris tonight. I was only able to get in one time on my cell phone and that was for Chris. In total, I was able to get in 70 times for Chris and 27 times for Taylor on my land line. I really hope that Chris is not in trouble tonight. Really want him to stick around for a while.

I was disappointed with Chris tonight. He just didn't seem to put his all into it.

I would like to see Lionel with our Idols...in reference to the Kalan link on your picture....I didnt care for his voice by the way....Sorry

Cat's voice sounded really tired tonight. I think she's spent. I hope she gets some rest. I didn't think anyone was great tonight, sometimes TV just doesn't get the performances across. I HATED Taylor's "In the Ghetto" rendition. Chris was lackluster and I just didn't like the songs Elliott picked.

So funny to read through and see such polar opposite opinions on some of the performances tonight.

Just got home and watched way late, so I didn't get to vote - but word is my 7 yr. old DD about wore herself out trying to vote for her boys Chris & Elliott.

My take on tonight's show:

Taylor
Jailhouse Rock - Didn't like the Taylor take on it. But it's no secret that funky Taylor is just not my thing... so not surprising.
In The Ghetto - I liked it and I'm not a Taylor fan and don't particularly like that song. Go figure.


Chris
Suspicious Minds - Love the song! I think Chris did well with it, but I was hoping for more.
A Little Less Conversation - Blah.

Elliott
If I Can Dream - I guess I'm one of the folks Simon was talking about, I'd never heard the song. Really liked it.
Trouble - I agree with the judges, I think this was Elliotts best performance yet.

Kat
HoundDog - Other than forgetting the lyrics (NOT good at this point in the competition) I liked it and liked seeing Kat let loose and have fun.
Falling in Love - definitely not one of her better performances.

I think Tommy Mottola has a thing for Kat! I'm guessing she will be fine even if she gets voted off this week.

Jailhouse Rock -- I just thought it was silly, like I usually think he's silly when he's dancing around. I agree with Simon or whoever it was that said that he reminds me of my uncle doing karaoke.
In The Ghetto -- now this I liked and I don't even really like that song. I think if he just stops mugging for the camera for a few minutes you can notice his voice.

Suspicious Minds -- Love this song, loved his version of it.
A Little Less Conversation - Really boring.

If I Can Dream - I thought this was really powerful. He seemed so much more professional this week.
Trouble - I was watching his eyes and thinking, "Now this is what he's been missing! His eyes are so expressive when he speaks, I think he just needed to settle down and let his personality shine through when he sings. I thought this was just wonderful.

HoundDog -- Her voice is so pretty, but I agree that she seemed too manic. All she needed was a firey baton and it would have seemed like she was a Miss America contestant.
The other song -- Again, her voice is beautiful, but I think she was a little too screechy. I think she has a powerful voice and could use some lessons to learn how to control it a little.

Taylor: First song seemed like a lunatic as usual to me. Second song was so boring, I left the room for a snack.

Chris: First song was great. he rocked it. Second song, one of my personal Elvis favorites, he did it paint by numbers, and that doesn't work for him.

Elliot: I won't waste time with him, since I think he sounds like a cabaret singer no matter what he does.

Kat: She was at a disadvantage right from the get go. I love her to death, and think she is absolutely gorgeous, but both songs stunk.

Soul is a genre, not a passion or a feeling. It's a combination of R&B and gospel and it is performed more than just sung. A soul singer sings from his gut and emotes a song like a gospel singer. Taylor does that, he is a SOUL singer, not just a guy singing from his soul.

Last night my DH and I were wishing that Taylor would have performed one of the Gospel songs that Elvis did so well.

I love this song, it was played during my wedding ceremony, but I don't love her version.

It is my favorite song, and I wish that she didn't sing it.
