THey get stylists when they reach the top 12. Ryan mentioned it the first night of the top 12 because of Bucky's "look".

The winner, of course, has to take the $1M contract. The other finalists are under contract until the end of the Fall, I believe.

Right--what's the obligation on the $1M in terms of length and number of albums and touring?

Anyone know about that?

I'm pretty sure the duration of the contract is one year, and includes an obligation to record the single, an album, and tour through the summer. I'm not sure if it goes beyond that.

And jealousy isn't a reason for any of this. What would any of us have to be jealous of regarding people we'll never even meet? I'm very happy with my own life, thank you.

I agree and to the same point, why would anyone pass judgement on people they've never met either?

It isn't okay to go after Kellie Pickler either. I remember the same thing going on against Fantasia two years ago. Seems that folks just cannot stand but to try to take people down whenever they can. All such mud-slinging seems like nothing more than jealousy or worse, and it disgusts me.

Although I'm not condoning the extent of some of the criticism at that time, but there is a difference. People seem to be critisizing Kelly based on an impression, not something based on fact. If I recall correctly, I think a lot of the anti-Fantasia attitude came from her sound - you either liked it or hated it. Yeah, I know, there were some criticisms of her parenting skills, but I think it was mostly her voice.

I've never met the President but I have an opinion about him, as I do with ANY public person, from Tom Cruise to Dolly Parton... it comes with the territory.

Any person who choose to become a "celebrity", especially one who is VOTED upon by the general public, should consider themselves fodder, or choose another profession.

Our "judgments" good or bad, reflect in the votes, which is what will make or break them. This is a discussion forum, and gee, believe it or not, the place to air judgments about these people, none of which we will probably share air with or meet at anytime or place.

Lots of people would!! Bucky is a good singer with a true heart. I'm not sure why he gets the negativity that he does. He hasn't done a thing to anyone and sounds like a country singer not that everyone would like his rough voice but it's not something to be mean about.

I never saw those baby pics. Kevin and Paris look just like they do now! Katharine was a cuttie pie. Trying to figure out what Chris was doing in the picture, maybe an instrument of some sort? Thanks for posting them!

I think it is a harmonica. It looks like he is blowing into it.

Thanks for the link. Bucky, Paris, and Kevin still look just like they did when they were babies . Even Taylor kind of looks the same (except for the hair ).

Thanks for that Bucky link. He has a great voice. I hope we get to hear some of it this week, all of it for that matter! I like that hes down to earth and I wish him well!

No, it was the fact that she was an unwed mother. There were outrageous assertions that that disqualified her as an "Idol".

Whether it is Kellie, Katherine, Chris, Bucky, Fantasia or Ruben, it isn't right to sling mud just because someone you're personally not comfortable with is achieving something wonderful.
