And homely singers? First 2 that come to mind..Bob Dylan (and no, I do not think he can sing at all) and Ric Ocasek from Cars. Ric had a semi decent voice for what he did but he wasn't the best singer in the world. Homely with amazing voice? Jim Croce.

LOL..but you know what. I actually BOUGHT Red..and her songs are so catchy I find myself singing along even though I think she can not sing.

That is my point exactly. It isn't about the best looks and the best voice. There are so many other important things. Taylor Swift is an amazing songwriter and she connects with a lot of people. I think Alex is similar in that quality.

I am a little surprised by who voted no. I was sure it would be Caleb and either Jessica or Alex. I got one of them right.

Jena? Snotty...I don't think she comes across that way..but she is confident. Maybe people mistake that for snottiness.

It was rather funny the last few nights. My youngest is home from school and was watching with me for the first time. When she saw Sam on Wednesday she said "my gosh could he look any more uncomfortable up there". When I told her that was an improvement she was stunned. Then last night she said his farewell singing was so much better and he seemed so much more relaxed.

He was probably glad it was OVER. He probably should've waited a year or so before trying out. Given himself more time to mature, become more confident in himself.

It was a weird night for me. I've never even noticed one of Sam's performances. And that first one I really enjoyed and went "hmmm" and the judges were all over it with criticism.

The twist this week was they could vote no one to go home and two go home next week or eliminate someone this week. It had to be all in agreement.
