American Idol Season 13 Official Thread

Sorry about your sister' s. CAR Mandy. had to edit this twice. Hope her KNEE will be. OK!!!!! fumble fingers tonight

Who do you think voted NO? It had to be two people who KNEW they weren't going home...;)

I actually thought they put the twist in there because of who might have been going home. I thought that either Caleb or Jena got voted off.

So my guess is that Caleb and maybe Jessica voted no...but wouldn't surprise me if it was actually Alex who did..those quiet ones you have to look out for. LOL

It wasn't really possible to tell by anyone's face how they voted. I really don't understand voting to not stay another week unless you are super confident that you were awesome last night. Which contestants never look concerned when it comes time to being voted off?

What a weird show tonight. I know Sam is not as great as some of the others vocally so this may sound weird but I think that he and Jena are the only two who had/have a real shot at being a legitimate star of any magnitude once the show is over. I fear the rest of them, despite their talent, will likely end up in the mostly forgotten American Idol winners pile with last year's winner (whose name I don't even remember) and people like Lee Dewyze and Taylor Hicks. (And yes, I know those two are still working and singing but they are not exactly Kelly Clarkson.)

I think Sam just needed some time and spit and polish and he could be pretty commercially successful. And I think Jena doesn't need much at all, just some good songs. The rest of them have great voices and a ton of talent but I just don't see it happening. And I know that Caleb has better stage presence than the other two, but I am not exaggerating when I say that I have had two different scenarios with two different people in my house where I was watching Idol, Caleb was singing and I was asked in all seriousness "Is that Meatloaf?"

So basically I hope Jena wins.

Conspiracy theories flying around social media!!:rotfl2:

They believe they were trying to keep Sam another week and it backfired! :goodvibes

all that would have done is postpone it a week..there was no way he was going to be in the top 2 much less the top 3.

Definitely possible since they already saved him once! ;) Someone at AI must really, really like Sam. LOL

Interesting how people see the star potential in others. I see no star potential in Sam or Jena. I think the only one who could put out an album that would do okay right now is Alex.

I'm sure each one of us here sees different star potential.

Final FIVE....lucky golden tickets in the AI Wonky bars. Who will win? Nobody knows.....for another 2 or 3 weeks.

In the meantime, let's check out our protagonists with their Wonka-Song bars.

Come with me and you'll be.....in a world of my imagination.....

Veruca Salt aka Jessica Meuse. Daddy.....I want a Golden Ticket. I want it NOW!
Sadly, Veruca, whether you get the Golden Ticket or not is completely up to the voting American public. I suspect that on those scales, they'd vote you a Bad Egg if it weren't for your second song. I'm so over her spoiled milk look on her face. Will it kill you to smile?????

ps. I want your red dress. I want it NOW!

Mike TeeVee aka Sam Woolf. The All-American boy.
The AI WonkaVision is shrinking you more and more each week. You need to loosen up in front of the WonkaVision and be yourself. A couple more years......and I really think you'll find yourself and shine. Or at least not blush bright red in front of Ariana Grande.

Violet Beauregarde aka Jena/Gina Irene. Take the gum out of your mouth Violet.
You keep growing on me. I hope that bubble doesn't accidentally pop and you make it to at least final 3. Whoever said Charlie had to be a boy?

Augustus Gloop aka Alex Preston. It's a role reversal. I will admit to being the glutton here and wanting more of Alex.
I was definitely all gloopy over his take of Say Something. Suck me in that chocolate fudge tube with you, Augustus Gloop. I'd be happy to be wrong with my casting and for Alex to end up with the Charlie role.

Charlie Bucket aka Caleb Johnson.
I think you must have drunk some of that Fizzy Lifting Drink with your first song. You really sounded like you needed to burp-smith some aero out of your system. But you came good in the end. Keep it up and that chocolate factory could be yours to lose. But beware....no one said that Charlie couldn't be played by a girl....or by a "wolverine".

As to the duets and trios.....I'm pretty sure that the winner is SINGULAR as in ONE. Is this a rule of the game that the AI producers have forgotten?

I'm out of the official Willy Wonka elimination order here.....But I'd be quite happy for either Veruca Salt or Mike TeeVee to be gobstoppered out.....and pronto.

ps. A BIG shout-out for that Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! on Idol. More of him, please.

What a weird show tonight....

The fact that they don't seems kind of backwards. The Voice hasn't had a BIG star yet and they base their pics on Itune sales (one part of the equation). AI doesn't and they have a big stake in the profitability of their winner. :confused3 Doesn't make sense.

FYI, the Voice's choices are getting predictable now, all you have to do is check the top 100 on iTunes and you'll see who stays and who goes.:badpc:

...wow....I was gonna say something similar...

 SCARY! :scared1:

....why would they let it made known who voted what...that's just gonna put a split between the contestants...unless, of course, that's what they want...:confused3

I guess the kids didn't have to admit to it. I can see the logic for voting both ways. I think if they would have revealed who it was that was going to be booted off, that person would have gotten a surge in votes the following week, causing somebody else to get booted that perhaps wouldn't have if things had been left alone. Lots of people just believe in letting fate take its course and let the chips fall where they may. Personally, I think I would have covered my butt and voted yes.
