My favorite of the night was Skylar's Queen song. Next thing I loved was how Elise looked for song#1...actually I liked her outfit from a distance more so than up close but it all came together on her and she looked younger. Whatever that burgandy gown was weeks ago they had her in...:crazy2: did her absolutly NO favors.
Next best moment for me was Hollies little jumps for joy after her 2nd song...she was awesome and she got the standing "O"! I think she was after that more than anything. Loved her dress too.
Please, PLEASE can Jessica be voted off tomorrow!?!?!?!?!?!??!

I have no ambition to watch tonight's episode I feel like I can go on youtube or whatever and see the ones I want to.

Okay, just sitting down to watch. Just got back from the barn. We have a new filly. :dance3: Babywatch is officially OVER!!:cheer2:

I don't know why he EVER deserves a standing ovation. I do not like him at all.:confused3:headache::crazy2:

I don't care for him either but I guess I would have to say I like him better than Phil- I can't wait for Phil to go-its painful hearing and watching him week after week. And I have to say now I like him EVEN less, if that was possible, after those little "tell us about the other singers" blurbs---he is just arrogant and obnoxious.
I honestly just am watching this show now going through the motions because I don't really like anyone left.....worst season ever!

Here's my take:

Joshua - did a little less screaming/screeching this week so he was better but not standing ovation material.

Phillip - he's quirky and overall I like him but this was not his best week. I think he was being tongue-in-cheek in those bits about the other singers. The one thing that really annoys me about him is his constant refrain about how he does it for the music, he does his thing etc. like he's "above" wanting to compete and is a music purist. Please...you auditioned for AI. We know why you did it.

Elise - I still think she's the best overall singer on the show with the most talent and range. She's definitely a rocker chick though...she does her best when she does the rock-type songs. For whatever reason, the judges have decided that the DO NOT want her to be the next American Idol.

Jessica - again, not her best week, although those judges do LOVE to gush over her and try and "urge" the audience to vote for her. At this point, I find her underwhelming.

Skylar - I think she's great but I'm not sure if there will be a country singer winner 2 years in a row. Regardless, she'll do fine professionally after this. She's got the look, the talent, the personality and a great name.

Hollie - she's starting to relax and mature a bit in her singing. I think she is more talented than Jessica. Hollie's voice is more pure and she is overall better these last couple of weeks with regard to not being pitchy and all over the place. Again, though, the judges have decided that they DO NOT want her to be the next American Idol.

I totally agree. I ended up voting last night, but really didn't want to because I don't care to see any of them win. If we could vote for the person we really don't like, it would make this easier. I only voted to try to keep someone (anyone!) on longer than Jessica.

I'm the opposite of many of you - I actually like all of the contestants this season. I loved that it was Queen night, since I grew up listening to Queen and those songs are very near and dear to my heart. Thought Hollie did a wonderful job with Save Me and I liked Phillip's version of Fat Bottom Girls. Of course the judges preferred Joshua, who I think screamed the entire way through Crazy Little Thing Called Love.

Second round Joshua was amazing, also loved Hollie.

I really don't care who wins, I don't have a favorite since Colton got kicked off. But I don't have any that I really dislike either so I'm o.k. with any of them winning. I enjoy most all of their performance this year - there isn't a contestant that I just cringe when they start singing, like almost every other year in the past there is at least one who is really bad for me. This year they all mostly sound good.

Now last year, I would say that was on my list as worst AI's ever. I never even got through to the end, wasn't interested in any of those singers after Casey got the boot.

For me the worse season of AI was when Blake won, followed closely by the year Taylor won. When there were much better people then Taylor to win

By Far the worst season of Idol was the year of Lee Dewyze. It was so bad that it was the only season I didn't watch once we got to the top 12. Second worst was the year of Diana Degarmo. Third goes to Blake/Jordin.

Did Blake win? I thought he was up against Jordin and lost to her in the F2. Maybe I am thinking of the wrong person. That was a lackluster season though, the one with Jordin.

I loved the Taylor season, I thought he was great. I still have his Ray LaMontagne song Trouble on my Ipod. That also brought Katherine McPhee to the forefront, and Daughtry, Ace Young and Elliott Yamin. I think that was my favorite season ever, hard to believe anyone could hate that season. Different strokes I guess!

Oh yeah that Lee Dewyze season was bad. Never before in the history of AI have there been a more boring final 2. I liked Crystal's voice but it was almost like she shunned the limelight and fame. AI probably not the best venue for her.

My worse year was last year. The very first time I EVER skipped the FINALLY. :rolleyes1

Jordin won and I really liked that season. I liked Blake AND Jordin!

LOOOOOOVED the Taylor season. Loved Taylor and Elliott! That was the only AI concert I went to. Despised KatPee  and still won't watch her show.

Ugh, the Lee season was a BIG letdown after the David Cook season. Horrible group and I couldn't stand that horrendous Big Mike.:scared:

i'm another who quit watching the Lee DeWyze season.

i actually loved Blake Lewis, just because he was doing something different. i don't remember much else from that season though.

and the Fantasia season was terrible except for Jennifer Hudson and LaToya London. i'm sorry. i never "got" what was so wonderful about Fantasia. she screamed "yeah yeah yeah" through most of her songs and really didn't seem to have much range. but they gushed over her. i just didn't get it. :confused3 i thought both Jennifer and LaToya were MUCH better than her.

i liked Kat McPhee and Chris Daughtry.

i still say the David Cook season was one of the best: Cookie, Jason Castro, Michael Johns, Carly Smithson.

last year was blah once Casey was gone.

I liked Lee's season but I liked Lee, Casey, and Lacey that were on there but Casey and Lacey have only really put out material I like. I was disappointed with Lee's album.

Idol seasons are hit and miss, I don't think I've missed a finale but I think there may have been some I don't think I went out of my way to miss. I know I loved last year's but I'm a country girl so.

Wow, great review right there!

Nobody in our house is much of a country fan, and yet we all find ourselves enjoying Skylar more than the rest. Whether she wins or not, I think she's the most "ready" to move on to the next stage.

Phillip Phillips has been a bit of a disappointment for me. He's enjoyable most weeks (not this week), but it's kind of the same schtick each week. And so far his best performance was his post-tryout version of Thriller waaaaaaaaaaay back when. Still waiting for his "wow" moment.

As for Queen week, I'm not a fan of having a theme that involves just one band or singer. The # of songs that translate well to the show can be counted on one hand, and if you don't get the right one, you're stuck. And since they just had Queen week a couple years ago, doing it again seems like a huge lack of creativity on the part of the producers. That said, I am a Queen fan, so at least it wasn't ALL bad :goodvibes

I'm surprised the producers haven't ever tried "Sadie Hawkins" week - make the guys sing a girl song & vice versa. Seems like an obvious easy theme.

I'm just now catching up...I know what it's like to loose a parent, lost my dad in 2010 and mom is fighting cancer so I know what it's like

I had no idea, Mandy and you're so young. You have such a sweet positive spirit no one would ever guess. They obviously did an AMAZING job with you because you are such a great young lady.

Hugs to everyone. At least we have a few hours a week to laugh and connect here! :grouphug:
