American Idol: Season 10 PART III

....sooooo, did I mention how much I hate my DH right now?? I DVR'd all the shows from Tuesday, since everything was on at the same time...my mom and I were ALMOST caught up watching [we were about 40 minutes or so behind the live AI finale] when my DH saunters into the family room, while Scotty was singing with Tim McGraw, and blurts out, "You know he WON, right?".....AAARRRRRGGGGHHHH!!! :badpc:

...this anti-climactic scene basically sums up MY season of AI...

Mine,too!! :lmao:

If I watched AI, I could have told you the name of the winner once I saw Scott McCreery. My daughter's friends came with us to WDW and one of them won the Golden ticket at The AI Experience. She went to the audition for this season, they told her she was fantastically talented but this year they were looking for a "Justin Bieber" type to be the American Idol.

:scared1: Please do NOT compare Scotty to him. Scotty has more talent in one finger then he has!

I'm not so sure. Scotty is pretty one-dimensional, afaic.

Scotty can sing only one genre really but that is because he has a natural gift of a deep voice. Deep voice goes with country a lot. Even though he is only country he is still very talented.

I was for mostly for James, and while I'm not a country music listener, I wasn't sad to see Scotty win because he seems like such a nice young man who will do excellently in his chosen genre. I wish they'd had him sing more pre 1990's country. I like old-school better. But I don't think singers actually have to be versatile to succeed. Most singers stick with a certain style.

I'm sure diehard Coldplay fans hated this version of the song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slHwBfKZPZI . But while the song was more suitable for James and Casey and they are better on it, I was shocked that night that Scotty actually sounded surprisingly good on it :). I think he could do certain types of rock (but probably not pop) if he chose to. I just think he was allowed to choose to stick with country by the show. I wish they'd made him stretch a little more like they used to just to make it more interesting, but the judges this season didn't make ANYone stretch.

I think Scotty is at least as versatile as Jacob (who I couldn't stand to listen to :headache:). And Pia for that matter.

He should've been sent to the couch that night.

Just watched Tuesday's performance...it was, by far, my favorite finale of Idol ever! It's no secret that I'm a Southern girl who LOVES my country music! (but I also love R&B, gospel, showtunes, and on and on)

Lauren's last song was just fabulous. Scotty has been one of my favorites all season. Lauren is from home, so no matter which way it went, I would be happy.

I'll be buying both of their albums and....still loyal to Jacob..so looking forward to great things from him, too!

Tell him he owes you a Disney cruise for that mistake or at least a long weekend at WDW.

I know. I don't get Justin B at all. My kids can't stand him...thankfully.

LOL.

Speaking of WDW and Idol...top 5 will be there on May 29th. Going to the Idol experience I guess.

and that's two years in a row I've missed them. :sad1:

I think it is cute that even CNN's HLN is talking about "the kiss". They keep saying the whole good friends thing but I think they are both trying to keep it quiet. They both just get so cute and smiley when talking about each other.

Don't know why everyone is against Justin Bieber. I personally don't like his music and my son doesn't either but he made it.

Bieber is a good kid. I wouldn't buy his stuff either but he can sing and dance and has a ton of charisma. He's also a very polite young man.

Bieber I may not be a fan of vocally but he is very down to earth and polite and so is Selena. He flew out and surprised one of my friends and even jumped on stage with him and sang with him. Now his fans are a different story, they tend to be slightly crazy.
