American Idol: Season 10 PART III

Hey, I only posted it as an FYI...

Someone posted earlier: "Most guys don't say (or maybe "I don't say") 'I love you' to my buddies....well, Scotty did. ;)

I can see Scotty saying it to all his friends...but saying "love you babe" to a girl is much different that saying "I love you" to your guy friends if you know what I mean. At least it is to me.

Whether they are dating or not. I just think they are cute and if they are a couple well..good for them.

Just got home from our Memorial day weekend, and riding with my DH (the country music listener ;)) as a captive audience, I heard Lauren's new single on the radio. ("Like My Mama" or whatever the title is) I have to say, she sounded great - as good as any female country singer out there! I can really see her being very successful, ala Carrie Underwood.

One other thing about Lauren - I read in some article online that her real last name is Suddeth. At the producers' suggestion, she used her middle name as her last name instead of Suddeth. I find it so strange that she was being advised this at the very beginning of the season. :confused3 Were they already pumping her as the winner before it even got started? Did they advise other Idol hopefuls to use a different (stage) name? I mean, it's not like her name was Lauren Googensnodder or something (I apologize to any Googensnodders out there). Anyway, I just found that very interesting.

Very interesting. I always thought Lauren Alaina sounded like a first & middle name. I don't know if they've ever changed anyone else's name.

Probably made it easier for people to remember her name... And be able to pronounce it too.

I read that it was her choice to use her middle name because no one knows how to pronounce her last name.

That makes sense. But whatever article I read said it was at the producers' suggestion, which sounded very odd.

This was her quote that I read, “I chose not to use Suddeth because people never pronounce it right and I knew Ryan Seacrest would have a terrible time trying to say my last name. I just went with Alaina because is would be easier and it kind of rolls off the tongue easier. But I will always be Lauren Suddeth. Always.”

I'm wondering why "Suddeth" is hard to say? I think it is probably not the catchiest last name and that they probably did suggest it and she probably chose (quite quickly mind you, unless she's put a lot of thought into it over her few short years--my 16 yo nieces *thinks* she has all of her babies named already, LMBO)

That sounds pretty believable, and I can usually rely on you for good info!

I do not believe they are dating. Both keep saying they are not, Scotty said that she is a sister to him now and I believe he would kiss his sister. I think I already posted this but Scotty said that she kissed him but had told him that she was gonna do it if he won.

I got my tickets to the tour this weekend:cool1: Already trying to plan the kind of shirt I am going to make for it, of course it is going to be Scotty something.

I thought that in the past, only the winner was able to release "their" song from the finale. :confused3

Reading this prompted me to watch her audition video. She uses Alaina right from the very start.

I had forgotten about her cousin Holly being her inspiration. Was she in the audience for the live shows? I only remember them showing Lauren's mom and dad.

I guess it is different when they have two different songs. Usually there was just one coronation song that they both sang.

Ok, I missed that but I still am surprised he wasn't invited to be in the audience since they SO used his sad story for ratings. It's the least they could have done.

...who knows :confused3 .....the saddest thing was the obvious diss towrds Lee DeWyze....

Just watchin Jalen Haris on you tube. I am still upset that kid didn't at least make it to 24. Hope he gors for Xfactor or makes it somehow.

Just wanted to throw this out for the Haley fans on here (there were some of us, right?). I tell ya, Reinhart just gets more and more impressive. A really great version of House of the Rising Sun with just her and a piano. I seriously look forward to seeing what her cd sounds like.

...funny - I was just rewatching some of the DVR'd episodes of AI yesterday; in particular, her version of House of the Rising Sun - blew it away!...she truly has a unique voice.

The Haley Fan Club on this thread might be small, but it's a very elite club! ;) I DVR'ed Regis & Kelly to be sure I saw Haley, and I thought she was very personable and a great interview. R&K seemed to really enjoy her. I've seen several clips of interviews Haley has given, and she always comes across as naturally friendly and well-spoken.

And you're right - she gave another great performance!

wow! she did a great job! I was born and raised in Chitown, and her bluesy voice got to me from the start!
I wish her great successs
