Looks like the actual Auditions might be moving to Walt Disney World:

'American Idol' Auditions Will Go Down at Disney World!!!

ABC ... you just snagged "American Idol." So, where you goin' for auditions? We're goin' to Disney World!!!

Yep, TMZ has learned the show will shoot audition weeks at Walt Disney World in Orlando. We're told there are 2 reasons:

-- It promotes a huge brand within the Disney company -- amusement parks.

-- It's way more cost-effective than travelling the show to various cities.

A source familiar with the deal tells us there's also talk of doing some of the auditions at Disneyland on the West Coast.

It would also give the show a cross-section of America and beyond, without having to hit the road.

Money is definitely an issue. The show got too expensive to produce, which is why it went off the air a year ago, and this will save a considerable sum.

Hmm. Holding the auditions in one or two spots, expensive spots at that, isn't really conducive to getting the best talent from across the U.S. I'd be upset if I cared about the show.

They'll scour Youtube, probably invite 10-12 wringers on a paid trip down, and then let the masses fill in the rest with who has the best story combined with voice...makes it very cheap that way...

Probably a 2 - they are gonna cheap out, advertise the cr%p out of the parks, and make it look like the Christmas "parade" by the time they are done with it. I wouldn't doubt that the judges will all have some pre-existing connection to Disney, the tryouts will all literally be in Disney, and the probable eventual stage will probably be one they already own. It won't get ratings, but it doesn't need to b/c reality is cheap and Disney making this will be cheaper...

And it probably only needs to outdraw Agents of Shield which unfortunately no one watches...

For interest a 5. For annoyance that it's back a 10. The reason the voice does well is because it's different and find talent. Though for sure idol has more popular alums than the voice.

I'm sure it'll have good ratings again but it's been nice not having it shoved in our faces by fox and all the various media that covers it. NBC tosses the voice at you most of the time except when it's time for a new season then they shove.
