Very nice! What color will your appliances be? I really love all that space. We have what is called a "galley" kitchen. Which is a nice way to say long and thin. We can only fit 2 people in there at a time without bumping into each other. I'm hoping to expand it one day. Or move.

I really like the space too. However, underneath that hanging light fixture, there will be a table taking up a lot of it. That's our breakfast nook area so we have a table that is about 5 feet long taking up that spot. We have a formal dining room as well, but we'll be using the nook most of the time.

It looks great!!! DH and I built our house BEFORE we got married...people were amazed that we still went through with the wedding after that! But my DH is very easygoing, he let me pick whatever I wanted.

I like how your tile and coutertops go together. What color appliances are y'all going with?

Here's our kitchen:

True...I love the dark counter tops...its very similar to my moms new kitchen...very nice....she also has light cabinets but hers are oak...her floor is close to the same as yours too....maybe a bit more grey but she used the big tiles

Hey everybody!
We have kitchen counters, light fixtures, and flooring (in the kitchen and bathrooms) now! WOOHOO!

Updated kitchen picture taken today.

*I'm sure no one is interested but I'm so excited that I wanted to share.
*Ignore the bubble in the flooring. Not sure why it's currently like that...but it won't be like that once it's done...haha.

Looks great isnt it nice to see all the stuff come into place...I like seeing different plans and see what people did with them....I like the recessed lighting in the ceiling....I wish i had that in my kitchen...I have more what true has in her kitchen as far as lighting...My bathroom has a skylight and I wish my Kitchen had it instead....

I am definitely happy with the canned lighting in the kitchen.

It's so exciting to go over to the house because there's always something new. Our carpet should be going in on Friday so it'll be nice to see that.

We'll be having a builders meeting soon (hopefully this week) to talk to them about our stupid sloped yard. I'm stressed about that so I hope it works out.

I love your kitchen too Heather. I like the light wood with the black. The Mickey touches are very cute.

Thank you. I think my kitchen has the most Disney stuff in it. There's just so many cute things you can get to go in it!

TrueEeyore - I adore your kitchen!

Thank you!!

We're not usuing our formal dining room right now because I have a huge puzzle covering the table. It's been there for about 4 months lol. I told DH since he wouldn't help me I was going to get DC over here to help! :rotfl:

Like I told Jill earlier, I like the contrast between dark appliances/light wood. I also like the big tiles, so much easier to clean!!!

Hey, now I'm a good cook! What do you want? I have to give it to you from 500 feet though.... ::cop: Don't forget.

Very nice kitchen. I have black countertops too, but my cabinets are a light gray and my floor is a darker gray. I really don't like my kitchen at all, but it functions and is about as good as it's going to get.

I have the same salt and pepper shakers that you have! Plus my daughter got me a cute mcikey head napkin holder. I also have a Mickey spoon rest. I loike the towels too. I have Mickey Christmas towels and pot holders but nothing for the rest of the year.

Now that is slightly disturbing. Where did you find all that stuff? Or did you make it up yourself? :worried:

All's fine and dandy. Bunz Town is pretty much Omaha and we were spared yet again. There's a bit of a light show outside. I'm just thinking of the Fantasmic theme in my head. The wife is in the office with the lights on so she can't see it. What a sissy.

Lightning doesn't bother me. Only if it's a night, I don't look as it'll keep me awake. I'd be too busy watching it and not getting to sleep.... And I don't like close storms that wake me up as it takes me awhile to relax again to go back asleep.

I love summer thunderstorms but not the one you are describing. One time when we were in Florida, we were driving on the "Bee-line" from the coast toward WDWorld and the lightning bolts were everywhere around us. It was the coolest, yet most frightening storm.

My son and I were at the World for Hurricane Frances. Other than the rain and being locked down for about 12 hours, it wasn't that bad. Of course, we weren't in an area that received a lot of damage.

On our way to Atlanta last year my friend Brian was trying to take pics of lightning. But it seemed the more spectacular bolts were when he didn't have the camera out and ready. :lmao:

ugh... it gets WORSE as it goes along. Lots of people hopping off the Cook train because of her.

I personally don't care who he dates but he should realize whoever he hooks himself to his part of his image. And no matter what anyone says about his talent, his IMAGE won him the most votes.

He seems like a smart guy. Hopefully he's thinking with the upper head! :smokin:

I've only read a few but love the one "David A is so pure he craps rainbows".... :lmao:

"He is so ugly" was another one.

"What is he doing with *that*"??? (to paraphrase another person).

I'd prefer hurricanes because you get more warning to get out of dodge. Plus, I'm used to hurricane season growing up in Florida. I know the drill.
Earthquakes and tornadoes just come out of nowhere. :scared1:

When I lived in Florida, never had to deal with hurricanes. Now that I've been in NC, I've been having to deal with them; especially since Floyd.

Our football team is the Tampa Bay Bucs, all pirate jokes are big in this area. pirate:

How much does a pirate pay to have his ears pierced? A buck an ear. (buccaneer)

What is a pirates favorite subject in school? Arrrrt! or Arrrrithmetic.

Even though they're our rivals, I do like the pirate ship they have in the stadium and the cannon fire when they score.

Thank you. I think my kitchen has the most Disney stuff in it. There's just so many cute things you can get to go in it!

I don't have Disney stuff in ours except for the Pop Century mug and the Mickey coffee mug that I have.

We're not usuing our formal dining room right now because I have a huge puzzle covering the table. It's been there for about 4 months lol. I told DH since he wouldn't help me I was going to get DC over here to help! :rotfl:

:lmao:

Friends of mine who have one use it when we're over but mostly use the small table in their kitchen.

Mom would have puzzles out on our dining room table but the cats would either knock the pieces everywhere or sleep on the puzzle or in the box... and covering it with the tablecloth doesn't help.

Hey, now I'm a good cook! What do you want? I have to give it to you from 500 feet though.... ::cop: Don't forget.
